Started off listening on YouTube but switched over the the pod because it’s easier to listen at work.. as a “never in” I’m so so interested in this content , love that they’re always re explaining things & the banter between this couple is the cutest

Stop with the inane old episodes from your YouTube channel. Especially dropping another one right after Mike passes. Read the room.

This podcast provides a light-hearted and well-documented peek at Scientology's invasive and abusive systems and culture. Though coercion and spying is unacceptable the host has years of evidence proving it is used regularly, even on households with newborns! This podcast speaks volumes of why Scientology and other high-control groups should be outed and their victims supported. Keep up the great work.

I really like this show but Mark interrupts Claire too often. Her interviews with guests are always a highlight.

Cult survivor here, just a different cult. Thanks for being reasonable adults. It’s a breath of fresh air in the current anti-cult space.

I have been a listener to this for a long time but lately find Mark a bit rude as he takes over the conversations and reprimands or corrects Claire like she is a child. I do applaud the Aftermath Foundation for their work in getting people out of this heinous cult and the bravery of the Headley’s for speaking out.

This show is amazing. Claire and Marc Headley are remarkable human beings - brave, honest, funny, truly amazing people. I love listening to their inspiring podcast. I love their humor too! This rating would be a solid five but for the way Marc often speaks over, criticizes and is condescending toward Claire. It makes certain episodes tough to listen to. If he were aware of this, I’m thinking he’d try to curb it and treat her the way he’d hope to be treated, which is why I’m posting.

1985 is almost 40 yrs ago. Not 30. lol. Hit me right away cuz next year is my 40th anniversary.

More boat stories please. Still a great way of life if the information was free.

David Miscavige wears handmade Italian shoes, employs workers for 50 bucks a week and charges for services. Why don’t they pay taxes!? This is a business. Marc is hilarious- thank goodness, because there are dark corners of Scientology covered in these episodes. I very very much enjoy their YouTube channel, but appreciate an option to just listen.

“Blown for Good,” who escaped from the International Headquarters of Scientology, continues his excellent story telling, because his book was not long enough to fit them all. Marc Headley is Blown for Good, after working under David Miscavige, the leader of the group, for almost two decades, and married to someone who worked directly for the man who titled himself “Chairman of the Board” (the irony being there is no board for him to chair). Marc shares all the details Miscavige doesn’t want you to know, and has been hounded since he left because he will not keep silent, while Scientology continues to destroy lives.

Marc and Claire Headley were raised in Scientology and rose to its highest levels at it’s secret (from Scientologists) and now most infamous (to the rest of the world) international headquarters, the “Int” and “Gold” base. We learn it’s two secret bases in one! The International Headquarters of Scientology with the top people in the “church” where Claire worked, and the Golden Era Productions headquarters, where Marc worked. Why? Because L Ron Hubbard was planning to move there, to make movies while he ran his totalitarian destructive cult and live the dream he wrote of to his first wife in 1938, when he said he had "high hopes of smashing my name into history…” The first, second, and third wife were gone by the time the cult arrived outside of Hemet. Hubbard never made it out of hiding to run the place in person, and that job was ultimately taken by (not given to) David Miscavige. Both Marc and Claire worked with him on a daily basis, and now they are giving us all the details. Funny, serious, and always interesting.

IMHO, you haven’t heard a scientology story, until you’ve heard a Marc Headley scientology story! Marc is a gifted storyteller that I could listen to around the clock. Marc and his lovely wife Claire, who has amazing stories herself, work to shine a spotlight on this ruthless cult’s crimes and abuses. While there is nothing funny about that, any parts that can be funny are downright hysterical thanks to the storytelling. Do yourself a favor and kickback and give BFG a listen or catch them on YouTube for a visual. They really are bringing out quality content in a very entertaining format. Usually more than once a week, sometimes several times a week. Buckle up and enjoy!

From Marc’s spy files to Claire’s Where’s Shelly? series, their incredible livestreams with some much needed comedic relief to delve into heavy topics… all of their work is important and worth taking the time to listen to and/or watch. Interesting first person stories about real life experiences in a cult. To have come out of such abuse and control with their personhood intact speaks volumes about each their characters. Definitely recommend!

Stories of sadness and abuse within Scientology, colored heavily with the unending optimism and great humor of these wonderful survivors. It never ceases to amazes me how successful and close this group is, and their stories bring me hope that people can survive the darkest periods of their lives and emerge into a bright, glowing life!

I’m so glad that Marc is now doing a podcast as well as his channel that I watch on YouTube. Marc and his wife Claire are amazing storytellers. Marc is wicked funny and Claire is smart, charming and adorable! I like listening while I’m doing things around the house and I don’t feel like I’m missing something by not sitting and watching. I try to always catch the lives but it’s sometimes that I have to watch the playback. Definitely check it out!
