    Mixed feelings
I’m with the other recent comment on the Sara episode…something seemed off with that one. Not sure what it was, can’t quite put my finger on it but regardless, it just wasn’t a great episode. I’ve really enjoyed a few Betrayal episodes, but there have been some that lacked something.

    Build up episodes
I like the new weekly episodes. Part 1 and maybe a 2nd episode. I get bored and move on when the story is dragged out.

    Needs Work
The show is clearly running out of material. The last “victim” Sara seemed to be demanding a friendship from a woman she didn’t know online that repeatedly pushed her away. Yet she felt betrayed learning the woman wasn’t real? Makes no sense.

    Hit and miss
The ads are excessive, discordant, and jarring. Some of the stories, especially the people who have done deep inner work, are well-worth listening to. Season two is excellent, and I recommend it whenever relevant. Rachel Heller has filed a lawsuit against this podcast team (and Hulu) for including her in the tv adaptation of the first season—I find this troubling. The latest episode, “Sara”, in November 2024, is such a soporific slog, I have no idea how the team pressed “publish”.

    Go Rabbi!
Thank goodness for the rabbi, who is the only one with any sense in Sara’s episode…

    Sara
I typically love this podcast, but this episode was awful.

These episodes never go where I think they will. Always engaging!

    Interesting but skeptical!
While I do find the episodes interesting there are some facts throughout some that leave me with questions. How can a person live with an intimate partner and NEVER see one of their feet!!!

    Sara again this week
Sara was posted last week and again this week. No new show this week?
  • Ultravox5050
    Chelsea (anonymous) episode feels fake
Not just because it’s anonymous (but that doesn’t help). The subject’s testimony is jargon-filled and comes across like bad, melodramatic overacting; and the facts seem too movie-of-the-week perfect to be true. Also, narrator’s tone is cheesy.

    Sara
This newest episode about Sara being in a group on Facebook, and one of the moderators was a catfish. I kept waiting for the betrayal part. So a stranger on Facebook gave you discouraging comments about parenting and…? What? I kept anticipating some sort of climatic twist but no. This episode was lame.

    Top Tier Listen!
This podcast checks all the boxes! My only complaint is the episodes being so short. If the episodes were just a bit longer it wouldn’t come off as rushed to tell. As podcast listeners we obv are here to get into a detailed, long climatic journey. Every other aspect of the show, production, narrators- flawless! Thank you for creating this! ❤️

Love listening and always keeps my interest!

Show is fine, but the Ads…
It’s a little jarring to have the subject matter being discussed (CSAM, pedophilia and other inappropriate sexual situations) interrupted by constant Adyi ads. To launch from descriptions of the CSAM being consumed by the perpetrators right into DO YOU WISH YOU WERE IN THE MOOD MORE OFTEN? is… surely there are other ads and maybe one should read the room?

    Are these subjects vetted?
The Chelsea episode makes me wonder if these subjects are truly vetted.

    Enlightening and educational
The details, interviews and experts that chime in on this show are engaging and informing. My top binge pod cast! I love the forward and direct content. Thank you for an amazing podcast.

    Chelsea
This woman sounds sooo unstable- maybe vetting episodes for mental health before taping would be a good idea.
  • Jta0919
    Great show but too short
The show is great but the episodes are too short and parts that need a bit more fleshing out get rushed and then it’s over. The ones that are 2 parts long the second episode tends to be anticlimactic. Great stories but definitely need to be longer

    Specifically on the Stephanie episode
I LOVED this series. It was the first podcast to get me into podcasts. I’ve enjoyed this podcast for so long. But the Stephanie episode was awful. The way the character is portrayed comes off as this helpless woman who is only interested in her ex husbands money. (Which i am sure is not the case) There was more talk about their lifestyle and vacations and pool than there was about her sicko ex husband and his disgusting actions. Not being able to criminally prosecute? He was posting these images on the internet!!!!!!! There is no need for your local PD to be involved??? The episode felt rushed and not fully developed. Very disappointing from such a consistently amazing podcast.

    Thank You
Thank you for giving people a platform to share their story and help in their healing process. You all do an amazing job. I have been touched by each individual sharing their story. Each individual is amazing. There is so much power in sharing your truth. I just listened to Chelsea’s story. I am truly moved by her sheer determination to tell her story, move forward and heal as well as grow.

    My favorite!!
Thank you for being so professional and letting the victims speak!! I love this podcast. Keep up the great work.

    Love the podcast
I love this podcast but the way the episodes appear are confusing and out of order. I also wish that the names of the stories were consistent. For example when one story is more than one episode, I wish they had the same name. It would be easier to follow. The content is great and the narrating is awesome!!!

    Love!
Love this podcast! Absolutely engaging and well thought presentation. I love how much she genuinely seems to care about the people and their well being.

    Political ads
Disappointed that I have to listen to political ads from Kamala Harris on this platform. Too bad because I was enjoying this podcast

Love This Podcast but Episodes are Complete Chaos
The episodes are uploaded in a disordered and chaotic way. It’s hard for me to find where I left off or listen to the episodes in order. Otherwise- the contents really great!

    Unsubscribe
Why would you rerun the same episode twice. Making it the new episode for the week and put the actual new episode behind a pay wall.
  • soul24
    Overall good
I do like this podcast, especially seasons 2 and 3. The weekly is a good idea and some of the episodes are great like the “Mormon Madoff.” Some are less so, such as Dr. Kerry which is just another grifter who was out for money. Not even criminal activity. That kind of betrayal happens every day. But I do enjoy the show.

    Love this
This is a great podcast I am learning with each story please keep it comming!

    Mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings about season 1. I cannot imagine the trauma that Jen suffered but a part of me feels that doing this whole podcast was distasteful to teenage SA victim. Overall I do like the show as a whole though.
  • Sahmima
    Dr Kerry is a colonizer
Whew, Dr Kerry couldn’t wait to exploit the Yucatán people out of their real estate with her American settlement money as the new bride of a Mexican national. And when she figured out that he was only in it to enrich himself she failed to grasp the irony! Rating 3 stars because the program is well produced and I remained interested enough to listen to both episodes. Hoping that Gunning will refrain from amplifying tone-deaf stories like this in the future.

    Season 2 Episode 6
I LOVE the woman who did everything herself. Her father and brother DO NOT DESERVE HER OR HER KIDS!!! I feel like like hate her father and brother and I don’t even know them. To me, they condone her ex husband’s child porn!!
  • Kjindigo
I wait for this every week
Love this pod and it helps me feel less alone after my last marriage was an emotionally abusive nightmare full of lies and betrayal.

I need more. This is in my top five favorite podcasts. Great show.

    Getting worse and worse
Like other Gunning podcasts, this pod gets much worse as it goes on. Gunning’s constantly naïve stance is annoying. The Dr. Keri episode is the limit for me. Boring story about a bad marriage with a casually racist victim who is selling a book. Just waiting for the psychic scam advertisements.
  • TheLarkGal
    Meh
I’ve enjoyed this podcast in the past but now without prior notice I listened to Part 1 of a story where Part 2 is by subscription only. Part 1 should have stated this so I could have skipped it. There are so many other podcasts to listen to… deleting this one from the lineup.

    Sick show for sick folks
Everything was perfect, until . . . Who would marry these handsome perfect church going men? Faith based perversion in every episode if that’s your jaws. One thing for certain is that all of these homeschooling freaks is a Trumper. What’s wrong with these people
  • HopeHulsey
    Raw & Real
Should be required listening in every high school. Lessons in reality. Period. Most adults can relate to meeting these kinds of people, and being fooled. Heartache & heartbreak… are the minor injuries. Many times, these people turn into much much worse.

Betrayal a father’s secret!! ruined me
I have no words. My heart is shattered. I want to say castration and even more I want to understand the pathology and sickness. I hate what these woman have gone through. Words are lost for a crime against your own family. The false love of a predator. It’s so sick I can’t wrap my brain around it. I think I want to say thank you for sharing, but really I want to say grosssss! Disgusting for all victims! Jason is deplorable! I’m so grateful you shared this. Though terrifying, strength and courage prevails. I hope Jason gets his karma. Looser!!!

    The best!
Absolutely love this podcast. It is presented so well. The host is perfect. My only complaint would be how short the episodes are. Can we please get two stories an episode or maybe have them longer? Idk, but it’s definitely one of my favs!!!!! Great job!
