    Idiots
They take interesting stories and ruin them with filler words and awkward laughing done at inappropriate times. Stumbling through their words and talking about things they have no idea about. How about do some research and get your thoughts in line before you put your goofy opinion out there. NEXT!

    Ignore the negative reviews
This show has been brigaded by a bunch of maladjusted trolls. Ignore them and give this a shot.

    Interesting
Essentially, we’re hearing two intelligent younger adults discuss and speculate on various topics, largely from online reading. They give a thoughtful introduction pointing out lesser known details, and though it lacks deeper historical context I enjoy hearing them draw conclusions with pop culture references. Occasionally there are errors/omissions but if you are new to the topics this podcast will definitely get you thinking. If you are looking for something to expand your knowledge with solid scholarship you should then move on to some of the more deeply researched podcasts. But those can be hard to understand, while this is conversational and accessible to anyone. I like it. I always learn something.

Why have hosts that know nothing about history?
The topics are interesting and I’ve downloaded several, looking forward to hearing them. The hosts are useless. The guy is fine but makes it clear that he has no real recollection of anything they’re talking about, and the girl - for one, talks like she can barely read and insists on making pointless comments like, “ohhh,” and “oohhh,” and “mmmmm,” in some attempt to sound like she’s even remotely interested and two - insists on saying things like, “I have no idea who you’re talking about but ok,” and it’s beyond obnoxious. This is a stupid, stupid podcast.

Great topics, but presentation is lacking
I really enjoyed several of the topics, and I wanted to really like this podcast. I noticed several errors (and I’m not a historian) which makes me question the thoroughness of the research. The presentation of the hosts is a bit uninspired.

    hiiiiiii!!!!
I love ur podcast, i listen to it all the time, only one thing, can you change the theme music, to something a little more tolerable. You guys should do an episode on the Wall street bombing of 1920

    Not very good
I was a history major in school and still love to read history, watch documentaries, listen to podcasts, etc. Unfortunately, I often know more about the topics than the hosts do and they’ve supposedly done research and written a script. It’s painful to listen to them chat and reveal all the things they don’t know about the world and current issues. They don’t appear to be particularly well informed about anything, including history.
  • NanaDontLike
    Just the facts please
Your program would be so much better without all the chatty stuff. I just want to hear the story, not comments on the story.

    Music
Please shorten your interlude music. Instead of playing that God awful music you could be filling that time with more historic info that you are awesome at.

    I like it
I have several different podcasts that I listen to, mostly long but I really really enjoy the “bite size” episodes as well as the different multi part episodes. Keep up the great work !

    History Light at best
Nothing new or insightful. They don’t even seem confident in the story….with mispronunciation of names, lots of uncertainty about facts.
  • Oppiopp
    Annoying
How can the host of a history podcast not know who Mary Magdalene is or think that Jesus Christ Superstar is a comedy.

    Missed Opportunity
Believing the one episode I listened to may have been a poor representation, I tried listening to another. Unfortunately, the hosts entertained themselves with sophomoric giggling and generally behaved like high schoolers trying to impress their friends. The female host practices a vocal fry that is particularly difficult to listen to, and their mispronunciation of common names and places in history indicates how little work they put into getting to know the subjects they’re discussing. The duo’s lack of professionalism shows a lack of respect for the audience. Their lack of basic historical knowledge shows a lack of respect for the subject matter. Given the interesting topics they attempt to cover and the wealth of information avallable to them, these two are missing a great opportunity to produce something good. If they don't care, why should anyone else waste their time?

    Awful
The hosts are monotonous, childish, biased, at times ridiculous and I would even go so far as to say race baiting. There are much better history podcasts out there, save your time and find one.

    Good podcast
Short (I like long podcasts) but packed with pertinent details. Good stories. Good storyteller.
  • Kevinr5
    Big fan
    I listen to every episode
  • yooperchicks
    Painful to listen to.
Topics can be interesting. Two people, male and female, banter in like high school like pseudo English like until you like want to hear like fingernails on a chalkboard as like an improvement. PLEASE if you are going to host a podcast, learn to speak coherently.
  • CasaLAX
    Meh
Choice in subject matter is always interesting but production feels just above college level. Episodes don’t feel well prepped or well edited. Minor example — If you’re going to do an episode on Pat Tillman, it might be a good idea to figure out how you’re going to pronounce al qaeda before taping.
  • Jailyard Monkey
    History exciting!
I have always been interested in historical events, but I’ve never found a podcast that allowed me to explore this untapped resource. I was turned on to this podcast by a friend and I very much enjoyed the two hosts in particular Kaleena who’s intonation and comfortable conversational style is charming. It’s a joy to listen to even when she’s recounting a challenging subject.

    Nice,
It’s a really good podcast honestly, not for everyone but nice….
  • amichaeld2236
    fun podcast
I enjoy listening to this podcast every week, particularly since the format shifted to be more conversational. Both hosts are entertaining and I like the dynamic between them. The stories are presented in a really digestible format, makes a great afternoon listen. Another review mentioned the female host’s voice was hard to listen to, and I disagree. It is hard not to think that reviewer is a bit of a misogynst.
  • T B0ne
    Uninformed
For a “history” podcast these two know hardly anything. Empty calories for your brain
  • SchwannSchwannson
    More like boraphyll
If you like the sound of someone reading with zero energy….This is the podcast for you.
  • AustinCHarvey
    Weird
Love this podcast! Topics are unique and interesting, not always the kind of stuff you see talked about elsewhere. The back and forth between the two hosts is fun as well.
  • Mommabug124
Titanic - too much wrong or missing
While the other reviews of the female’s narration is hard to listen to (voice is just off and pronunciations are just wrong) my biggest problem is how much of the story/info about Titanic and her sinking and aftermath is either missing from the episodes or just plain wrong. These two should have looked into the updated research and information on this topic before hitting record.
  • CC_Mar86
    Enjoyable
I really enjoyed your six episodes on the Titanic, especially the longer last episode!

    David Reiner Epusode
I really like this podcast but I have been really taken back by the a David Reiner episode. While the hosts mention that the particular practices involving showing children pornography, placing them in sexual positions, having them undress, and taking pictures of them are “less easy to justify” than his other tactics which can be chocked up to the times, the episode sounds beyond attempting to be even handed. It comes off that the episode is trying to dance around the fact that Dr. Money took advantage of family from a less informed background and in a desperate predicament to prove a highly experimental theory and gain esteem from the scientific community while also textbook sexually abusing children. Rather, the episode seems to not want to take away from supposed advancements he pioneered… Like I said I like the podcast usually but as someone who has done a ton of personal interest research into this story, it just seems like the issue is not so much the gender assignment as much as it is the blatant child sexual abuse. Just my thoughts. Couldn’t find where to comment on the specific episode so putting my comment here.
  • Csg2007
    Bad reviews are correct.
I had high hopes for this podcast. I would hate for any family member of John Edward Jones to hear your Nutty Putty episode. Insensitive. Tasteless. I could not believe all the LAUGHTER & giggles from hosts. Gross.

    Interesting Topics- Boring Narration
The history topics are interesting. But the people narrating are boring and monotonous. I hate ads, but find them a relief when they come on because they have some energy and life to them.
  • kiIIacaliboy
Episodes where you 2 are just talking
The episodes where its just you 2 talking about your opinions and theories are absolutely annoying and boring! “Opinion yeah yeah another opinion yeah yeah and another opinion. Geez! Come on! Find some other material to do!

    Waste of time
Unbelievably how much “music” is used to fill up time and create more lengths for more ads…

    The weirdest history
Really good stories if you want to learn about people and events from the past that didn’t come up in school and don’t get talked about much elsewhere. The one about the Rockefeller guy who was probably cannibalized, or the one about how Marilyn Monroe might have been murdered — it’s just cool and weird corners of history. Good stuff!

    A Fun Listen
A great variety of topics covered that any history buff will really enjoy.

    My favorite spooky podcast
This podcast features a great selection of topics that ranges from the mysterious to the supernatural, including a bunch of less well-known stories that I only found out about by listening here. They do a good job setting a tense atmosphere without going over the top, and just presenting the known facts. While all of the people that read the stories are really good, there is one silky-voiced man that appears sometimes (believe his name is Kit) who really stands out. Highly recommend!
  • ChitownGinny773
    Whistling Dixie
The story lines are good but the guy narrating keeps whistling Dixie every singe S he says or when ever he uses S in a sentence he makes that god awful whistling sound! And it drives me crazy!!
  • SandGirl😁
    Wonderful podcast!
I love this podcast. It’s interesting and historically accurate! The narrator presents information in an engaging way, and best of all, there are no ads!

    Founding fathers
Interesting podcasts until I heard “The Founding Fathers.” A couple of unaccomplished, unremarkable podcasters, with their whiny, judgmental attitudes, having the balls to rate the founding fathers really rubbed me the wrong way. As humans, yeah they’re flawed, but they are products of their generation. As Americans, they are legends for their accomplishments. Imagine having the guts to rise up against the King of England, risking yourself and your family! Ever thought to rate Dr MLK? A guy who plagiarized his thesis and who cheated on his wife? Still a great man for his ACCOMPLISHMENTS. We aren’t worthy to sit behind our little microphones and judge him.
  • Sabs Eileen
Was excited to listen based off recommendation
    Couldn’t get past the narration
  • Crystallion863
    Can’t stand the voice
The girl narrating sounds like she’s reading a scary book.. or telling a spooky story.. it’s annoying.
  • sk1885
    Enjoyable
I’m really enjoying this podcast! I really like the history and storytelling!
  • rjenkinsdc
    Decent but….
Monotone narrating takes a bit to get used to. Also there is so many irrefutable historical inaccuracies in the founding fathers episode that I lost track after about 30 of them.
  • eubanoid
    Please change narrator
This show could be so good if someone with an ounce of energy and excitement hosted it. It’s just unbearable in the monotonous library reading tone and horribly produced sound between segments. Start fresh with a new season and new host!
  • nopettynopenope
    interesting.
I Had quite a few facts straightened out in this one actually. Review are well; …biased. I've only read one however do not be discouraged by our rght wing friend “mr. meh” i have no problem with his view point politically thats a personal choice/ individuals perspective. not sure what was meant by left wing liberal anything he was saying but he was correct on one thing he said. “Know your audience!” & at least from a native american perspective… thank you for at respecting those men who were indeed murdered so that this particular group of “european settlers” or as some might even say invaders… could be rescued. this is not a Rt wing Vs Lf debate i thought it was a story a historical significance. i didnt really get upset about any of it. but i tell ya what… people need to stop spinning other peoples words out of context. period. they need to stop projecting their views and opinions onto others n yea thats all people. they need to use those beautiful minds that the creator endowed them with. Use all that brain power and time to find solutions to the real problems in this country not spend all this time and energy beating other people into submission to convert them to your point of view. People are too dang sensitive these days (both sides sit in flowerbeds from where i sit) gone are the real men of this country???? I Hope not. i may not have agreed with their methods but i understand why they did what they did. I could speculate as to what i would have done here but to be honest id rather not find out. All of this said i would probably trip you during the zombie apocalypse, to get away, so….. yeah maybe I'm not the person to ask about the morality thing. Hey. i had to speculate about something after this rant. Everyones so thin skinned and serious. geez people get a grip. it was just a podcast. smh.
  • Avampirebyday
    Meh
Content is interesting & So you’d do alot better if you just told the story accurately and leave out your obvious bias opinions. Judging by the other reviews…know your audience. Not everyone is left leaning democrats.
  • iGreeley
    Good Content, Poor Delivery
I am a big fan of the content, but the production is sadly low. Ms. Fraga's narration is monotonous and not engaging. I'll still listen but will FF through much of it.
  • SanHuw
    Very interesting
Very interesting and well put together podcast.

Don’t believe the opinions of stupid people
It’s obvious a bunch of Trumptards are trying to sully this well researched podcast just bc they are used to the drivel of their Faux News thinkers. Definitely worth a listen.
  • jesijane45
    False claims
Requiring ID to vote is not suppression.... we require ID to drive, get a loan, fly on a plane, and many other things.... the only people that a voter ID requirement suppresses are the people who are in America illegally. Because they are breaking the law, just like any American citizen that broke the law they should not be able to vote... didn’t realize this was a leftist podcast word vomiting out the words of CNN and MSNBC .... 0 stars and six thumbs down!
  • BSPIRE
Facts are twisted out of recognition
As a history nut I’m appalled at your complete naivety of what your speaking about. As a history platform you have the responsibility to bring facts not opinions to further some personal agenda! How about looking in the mirror to see who is really trying to benefit from others expense!
