I have had the pleasure of knowing Renée for almost a year now! The strategies and techniques that she teaches in her resources are phenomenal. I’m a private piano teacher and have used so much of what she teaches in my curriculum to my students! I was not taught how to overcome my own performance anxiety, but I’m hoping to break that cycle for the students I teach. Thank you Renée for making that possible for my studio!

The entire episode was very good BUT I really got a lot out of Nijioma's tip on how to memorize music. It's a tip that has me thinking why haven't I done that before. As I'm working on memorizing one of the Goldbergs Variations, I will be adding this to my memorization process.

Dr. Renee is the real deal. A must listen to podcast series with helpful advice. Lots of information available to help further your career!

I’m a musician with a degree trying to get back to playing and making it fun again. I recently discovered this podcast while browsing and I’m so thankful I found it! This podcast puts me in a positive mood and mindset. It’s fun and enjoyable to listen to.

As a student and a musician, this is my favorite podcast. I learn so much about practicing, honing my craft, the professional world of the arts, and I come away inspired with each episode. I keep thinking, "What else is there to say about practicing? Surely we must have covered it all already!" But I still am finding new, practical tips and tricks to add to my arsenal. Dr. Gauthier has curated such an astoning variety of hosts, and does a great job asking interesting questions.

As a professional musician living in a relatively rural area, it's refreshing and motivational to listen to this podcast. A wonderful reality check with a heavy dose of inspiration and encouragement, I have taken amazing advice from every episode! Renee-Paule Gauthier asks her guests how they maintain their carreers, what their individual practice techinques are and, perhaps most imporantly, shows the humanity of each artist who often puts him or herself second to one's art. This is a great podcast for professionals who want to stay connected to other performing artists (the cross-instrumental aspect is really great and offers lots to learn from too!), but also for music students wondering what life as a professional musician really is like and how to work towards their goals. On top of all of that, Renee brings the topic of mindfulness in instrument practicing to a very important focal point, offering anecdotes from her guests and actionable tips that inspire, encourage and motivate me in the practice room. I don't feel quite as isolated in my work knowing Renee and Mind Over Finger is out there. I recommend this podcast to all of my students and colleagues. Thanks for your great work!!
