This season is excellent. It is detailed enough as to be educational and obviously thoroughly researched, yet there is restraint on the amount of information provided so it is not tedious to listen to. Beyond educational, the story is well written and well told, with descriptive words and excellent delivery that make the stories captivating and enjoyable to listen to. These are all legends I am familiar with, yet I still learned something new in every episode. I appreciated the subtle music and sound effects that added to the story and did not become distracting. Excellent work by the writer/narrator/producer.

From the voice of the narrator to the vocabulary of the script, this is great storytelling, and the best thing of all … it is true history! The way this was written put me in that time and space. Totally excellent. Will recommend to others for sure.

I have enjoyed all the episodes. I like it how the host just gives it straightforward and none of his personal peanut comments. I think it is well written and put together. Highly recommend. 👍🏼👍🏼😁

The first season hooked me. 40 seasons in, and it still has great stories. I binged the last season in a day! The Black Bart episodes represent the best this podcast has to offer.

With a voice that draws you in and keeps you engaged, to the lay out of the story being told to way its scored with the original western music, you will not find a better western podcast to listen too. If there was a way to earn a Emmy for a Podcast Chris Wimmer deserves it.

If you like your history re written with an anti white liberal twist then this is the podcast for you. Narrator is good, a few episodes are good but can’t take the non stop anti white liberal lies and nonsense.

Started listening to Legends of the Old West two years and it quickly became a top 5 favorite. Whether your a history buff or just a fan of old-western American historical legends, this show will have you covered. Chris does a fantastic job and if I could add more stores I Would.

I was scrolling for something new and came a cross your podcast and started at the beginning. Got to the second bonus episode and A Martinez was in the “Cowboys” movie with John Wayne. Didn’t know if you knew. 😊

Well scripted, narrated , researched and I enjoyed the content. The narrator’s voice is easy to listen to for hours .

Been listening since I was in 5th grade and it’s been getting better and better..some episodes seem to show your own political views tho.

These stories are excellent. I look forward to every episode. I often listen to them more than once to make sure I don’t miss anything.

Writing is excellent. Stories so compelling! Vocal delivery perfect. I am a huge true crime fan but once I heard these episodes couldn’t stop listening.

As a cowboy who loves the history of the American West. This is the best podcast to listen to as it gives every detail that it’s like your there living the events.

This brings me back to a time when our great nation was forming. Although many of the stories are troubling because of the violent shoot outs we still have the same sins in todays society. Keep the stories coming!

Chris I love your episodes. Whether it is a story about a lawman, outlaw, or a famous warrior, I find myself equally hooked on the story and eager to hear the whole thing.

Mr. Wimmer’s soothing voice complements the well researched and beautifully written script for this wonderful podcast. Do yourself a favor; close your eyes and let him take you back to fascinating chapters in our nations history.

The content itself is great but the episodes are WAY too short and have way too many commercial breaks in the middle of it making the episodes hard to follow. Also the way they labeled the episodes was not well thought out making binge listening more complicated than it should be. Would like it much better if it was longer and uninterrupted. Perhaps out the ads at the beginning of each episode instead of peppering them throughout stopping the story. I want to give it more stars but due to these issues I can only give 3

Thanks for attempting to tell the real stories, especially sussing out the “fake” stories as may be told in the newspapers “of the day,” especially in an attempt to sell more newspapers (I.e., like Ned Christie in Season 33. I only learned about this great podcast in the late Fall (Donner Party & the Bloody Benders, from I think it was American History Tellers). Great story telling!! Great speaking voice and background music, too!

I really enjoyed listening to the 4 episodes on Bass Reeves. I listened to them while on the road to Fort Smith National Historic Park. I look forward to listening to other episodes.

Great storytelling makes the history come alive

Very informative and exciting. It’s refreshing to here stories that don’t all lead to why one political party is so much worse than the other.

This is one of the greatest podcasts on iTunes. Chris Wimmer is an outstanding narrator and storyteller. The pacing is engaging and easy to follow and does a great job linking persons and events from other seasons. I’ve particularly enjoyed listening to it on road trips through the American West, particularly in the landscapes either on or near to where the events took place.

Because of the seasons, this show is able to go into a lot of depth on various topics. I’m loving the season on the Nez Perce.

These are great. I have a hard time just sitting still but when I found these, it catches my attention and I can learn, be entertained and reduce the endless scrolling.

I love the podcast and have a recommendation for the series about Dodge City: check out the 1950’s radio series called Gunsmoke. Gunsmoke was based in Dodge City. The radio series is not the same as the popular TV show, in fact, the radio series is better in my opinion. Different actors, more complex and contemporary plots than the TV show. The radio series is a podcast and easily accessible. I couldn’t help but think about the old radio series while listening to Chris’ series about Dodge City.

I've been listening to Legends since the first episode. Of the 20+ other podcasts I follow, Legends, and its sister show are, by far, the best! Being from Texas, I have heard, or read, about many of the stories. But, I am always amazed by the facts and details in the episodes. Some I had never heard about and, if I had, much of what of it was wrong. Also, the structure of the podcasts is great. There's not a lot of music and time wasted pitching products or other shows. I very much enjoy these two podcasts and, whether you've heard a lot about their stories, or are new the genre, I guarantee you'll enjoy both podcasts. I just wish I could give them more than 5 stars! Enjoy hearing about the real Wild West!

Love the podcast... One of my favorite podcasts I listen too drive to and from work. Well researched and very well presented. I’m an old west buff and when I thought I heard it all… I hear things I never knew before… excellent!

My son shared this podcast with me this year. In January I drove out to Wyoming from Atlanta and listened to the podcast on my way starting at season 1. I have enjoyed every episode but I have to say, the story of Stagecoach Mary warmed my heart so it’s my favorite so far. Stories like Texas Jack have opened my eyes to historical characters I never knew anything about. It it is great to hear stories of people who shaped our Country. I ordered the Summer of 1876 book for my son as a thank you for sharing this podcast. If you love stories of the Old West, I highly recommend this show.
