    Lost the plot a bit
I’ve listened to this whole series over the years. I binged most of it as I only found it after I had gone the WoT series a couple of times. Then finally caught up and listen fortnightly. To be clear it’s a really good podcast.. up until they get to the Brandon Sanderson books. At that point they spend far too much time pointing out every single thing they don’t like about Sanderson’s character choices and style. The criticism is often valid. But it was made at the point in the series when the author transition occurred and then gets repeated again and again and again to the point where it detracts from the enjoyable aspects of the podcast. I wish they would shift a bit more towards talking about the characters and the story as written and less about how they think it should be written. The balance of conversation has gone too far towards complaining.

    Constructive criticism
Please take this honestly and not a reactionary response, I’ve been listening for years and will continue because of the analysis and insight of the hosts, but for the love of god the political tangents (or any non WOT tangent) have got to stop. People are inundated with surface level hot takes from all sides and come here to escape the real world and listen to stuff about a made up world. And I like Aradia and glad she’s as big of a nerd as I am but it always comes from her, along with shoehorning gay romances into every characters bio who has a same sex friendship lol chill, just talk about WOT and not apply the most liberal take, or any political take, to a book written throughout the 90’s and 00’s

Just not what it used to be
I started binging the show during my first reread of Wheel of Time. In the beginning, it was a relatively focused, fun show analyzing themes in what has quickly become one of my favorite book series. Around the time Patrick left, however, the show lost its focus. I love Aradia as a host, but her and Seth just don’t focus on the actual chapter. It started to feel like half of the episode was just unrelated or loosely related tangents about random things, or even worse political rants that are incredibly one-sided. Everybody is entitled to their political beliefs, but I didn’t start listening to a Wheel of Time podcast so I could hear people’s politics.

    Show really changed
Loved it when Patrick was on board. They really focused on a particular chapter. But then would give occasional in-site on the series. After Patrick left the show episodes got really long. Adria is knowledgeable, and I don’t have an issue with her at all. But many times they get off topic. And I hate when the have to explain how the book “had not aged well” when they don’t agree with something. Or have to talk politics. If I want a sermon I will go to church. Not listen to a podcast on a book series I really like. I still like some of the insight, but find myself skipping through a lot of episodes now.

Early seasons are much higher quality, but still a fun listen
Books 1-5…perfection. Seth and Patrick had such a great dynamic and I loved the direction of their conversations. After Aradia joined, the tone changed a lot. I still listen, but it’s not as fun. There used to be insightful interesting conversations about subtext, foreshadowing, parallels between characters, and both Seth and Patrick spent time asking questions that had fascinating answers. Aradia is obviously super knowledgeable and that added a lot when she was a guest. As a host, she comes across as kind of a know-it-all and there are almost no questions, just pontification. Especially when it comes to the Mat and Tylin stuff, she sounds like the comments section of a Reddit AITA post and it gets so old so fast. I’m here for literary analysis, not hostile virtue signaling. Like, dude, I agree with you, but there’s more to discuss here 🙄

Fantastic podcast for the first few hundred episodes
In its early days, this was a fun podcast that delved into the myriad layers of the rich world, characters and narrative of the Wheel of Time. I was often impressed by their thoughtful analysis, which allowed me to see the story from angles that i hadn't previously considered. Sadly, after nearly three hundred episodes, the podcast took a sharp nosedive. The hosts' insight and thoughtfulness does not extend into the realm of politics, in which their views are ignorant and one-sided. While they made an effort to minimize the political discussion early on, sometime in the 200's political discussions started to become a more and more obtrusive part of their podcast. and this only got worse after one of the original hosts left. I listened to many of the epsiodes after that, hoping the podcast would improve, but eventually I couldn't take it anymore. I would still recommend fans who have already finished the book series to listen to this podcast for the first 200 episodes or so, but once they get into their heavy political phase, for the sake of your sanity, jump ship!

    Not as good as before
I miss how the show was when Patrick was still involved. The show was chill and thoughtful. I’m still glad the show has cotinued, but I REALLY wish they would edit-out off topic conversations, politics, and Aradia’s nervous laughter.

    This show is great.
Been listening since almost there very beginning and happy to say that the podcast has only improved. Changing hosts is always a difficult move, but the show has only gotten stronger, more in depth, and more entertaining. Keep up the good work.

Good Podcast - Please see Feedback
So, I rated WOT spoilers a while ago, and I just wanted to follow up and to be clear because I feel like it wasn’t taken seriously. This is a good podcast but is suffering from a lot of non-WOT related content. Please take this as constructive criticism. It’s not just people who are apparently mad about conversations about “colonialism or racism”. That is a huge red flag there. But if ANY topic is brought up, let it be on topic related to WOT (colonialism-Seanchan, etc.) and don’t spend such long tangents on them. Such discussions make more compelling content for sure and should be encouraged. But for the love of all things dear, keep it WOT central. We don’t want your personal views on literally everything going on in the world (past/present/future) shoved in our faces constantly, nonstop, especially if it doesn’t relate to the WOT content you’re on. Take to the soapbox, occasionally, if you must, but connect it back to the WOT topic. I do not mean for this to be personal. If anything, I’m asking for it not to be. Y’all seem to be good, thoughtful people, and I’m not trying to tear you down. I am a Patreon. I have been a long time fan. Please just take this seriously as invested feedback for the podcast and not just coming from trolls. And if I’m the only one who feels this way (and it really seems like that’s not the case) or if this is just how y’all want to conduct the podcast then I guess it’s just not the one for me anymore. Anyway, thanks and I truly hope for y’all’s continued enjoyment and success with this podcast.

    FANTASTIC Podecast for a Re-read!!!
This podcast is the best out there for a chapter to chapter re0read of the Wheel of Time. The guys are super-knowledgable and are very well versed in the content and lore and have been fans and students of WOT since they were young. They always come prepared for a deep dive into each chapter and I always come away knowing more than I did before I listened. If you are doing a re-read, or if you are reading for the first time and don't mind spoilers (this is the podcast for you! Thanks guys and keep up the great work...I know it's taking some time but it is so good and worth it!

    The BEST of WOT podcasting
I’ve been listening since 2018 and I still enjoy it just as much as I did in the beginning. I miss Patrick as a host but I honestly love having Aradia’s voice and viewpoint as a counter to Seth’s. With this book I’ve been reading each chapter before the episode comes out, best way to listen in my opinion. Thanks for the many hours of quality content.

    Yay!
Been hoping for a good WOT podcast to come into my life. So glad I found y’all! I’ve loved a lot of podcasts before but I’ve never gone as far as patrion. Loveeeee having Aradia on the show all the time!!!
  • MamaQx3
    Great deep dives
Seth and Aradia are amazingly detailed and comprehensive in their analysis of the WoT series. They have deepened my understanding of and appreciation for the series 100 fold and I’m loving re-reading (ok, listening) along with them.

    Disappointing direction
TBH I’m so disappointed in the direction WOT Spoilers has taken. I’ve been listening since the beginning and have been one of the programs longtime Patreon subscribers. Back in the day when it was Seth and Patrick it was for the most part objective and straightforward, with the occasional “tongue-in-cheek” political commentary. However since Aradia joined it’s totally sold out to the “cult of what’s happening now.” As a left of center individual, I don’t get bogged down in the political hype and pandering on either side. I cannot the churchy fascism on the right, nor the cancel culture performative pandering on the left. Sadly, WOT Spoilers has gone blatantly the route of the latter.

    Head cannon? Or is it?
Firstly I enjoy this show. Much of the content allows me to flip RJ’s wot on its head and over analyze it from different points of view. Love it! What puts me off is how head cannot is shoved down my ears as if it was cannon, maybe I just want to hear a little flexibility or perhaps I should be? I do not enjoy the non wot related tangents

    Patrick held this podcast together..
Don’t listen after Patrick leaves. It’s super cringe. They spend about 1/3 of the podcast actually talking about the books. Also WAYY to much politics for a fantasy podcast. No one cares about your political views dude...
  • christinibanini
Used to be a great podcast
This show started out strong and the earlier episodes are quite good. I’m not sure what happened, but after Patrick left the show the content went downhill and Seth’s hardline views on certain topics is a huge turn off. Hopefully things will turn around again now that Aradia is on board.

    What a waste
I would say Seth single handedly ruined this show, but he brought on Aradia to duet his worst qualities. Patrick needs to go solo, he was the only thing holding this show together.

    Could be better... Here’s how
This is probably the second or third best WOT podcast I’ve heard. Seems like they spend the first 20-30 minutes just chatting about life, and other non-related topics (out of nowhere) throughout the show too. It would be more enjoyable if they didn’t spoil future books. They’re alienating potential first-time readers. Since they’re covering each chapter anyway, there’s no need to jump ahead and randomly talk about the final battle. Lastly, I’d suggest since they just chat about nonsense sometimes; once they get back into the chapter review, let the audience know exactly where you are picking up from. It’s like we can see their notes.

    Cringe
Hey Seth! Your holier-than-thou attitude combined with your absurd propensity to get things wrong is a serious turn off! Good luck getting someone else that tolerates your backhanded disrespect as well as Patrick did. He was the only thing that kept the show going. You and Aradia are an absolute cringe-fest.

    Facts wrong all the time.
Ishamael is not Ishmael. Ish-sha-ma-el. I mean Jordan told us how everything is pronounced. They get so many names wrong it’s hard to listen to. There’s no reason to keep getting things wrong. I feel like I have a C+ or B- knowledge and just kept hearing mistakes. Tam was gifted his sword? Pretty sure he killed a blademaster and thus got to keep his sword. I mean. It’s in the books.

    Another reason to read WoT
I can’t count how many times I’ve read The Wheel of Time. Seth and Patrick have given me another reason to read it again. Their chapter by chapter reread brings new ideas and theories that I love to think about. Thanks guys!
  • Brinnt
    I’m nodding
I thought I knew as much as I would ever need to know about Robert Jordon’s Wheel of Time series, but, after listening to 149 episodes of this Podcast I realize there is much more to learn. Seth and Patrick are passionate about the story and the characters. I like how they interact and leave discussion open to anyones interpretation. No know-it-alls here. Their format is simple and consistent, except when they have an occasional guest that always adds to the flavor of the discussion. The third member does not say much but likes to interact in the background. Please please please - keep it going!

Sucked me back in the moment I finished the series
The moment I finished my first read of WoT I knew I had to find someone to talk to. Failing to find that, Patrick and Seth filled a much needed void and pointed out a ton of great nuance and foreshadowing That has added much depth and appreciation to my understanding of the books.

    Leave Personal Opinions Out
I really enjoy your insight into the books, but I can no longer listen to your show. Despite several political comments including calling all white people racist, I still kept listening. However, the last straw was during a Shadow Rising episode where you compared Aram to a Mormon convert who is too innocent to understand the world. I get that you think you are enlightened, and you are still naive enough to think that being a progressive makes you smarter and better than non progressive people. But I really wish you wouldn’t have to slam it down everyone’s throats all the time. Please try to be more understanding that there are people in this world who don’t think the same way as you, and that’s OK. It doesn’t make them less than or worse than you because their life experience has shown them a different understanding of the world than what you have experienced. Unfortunately, I will no longer listen to, or support, your podcast.
  • Smoakey597
    In-depth and fun
Seth and Patrick put on an amazingly thorough show. Their analysis and interpretation is exactly the type of perspective I was hoping to hear during my most recent re-read. Currently knee-deep into season 2. I’ve kept on listening and am current. Still thoroughly enjoying the show and look forward to each new episode!

I binged and it killed me.
I was all about this podcast when I first started it, tried to binge and catch up and it ruined it for me. If you’re reading along it’s a great podcast, but i suggest reading along and only listening to an episode or two a week. Otherwise it might feel like you’re listening to the cool kids talk about their discord convos.

    Thoughts so far
Just finished the great hunt with you guys and I love the show. I did learn that I can’t only listen to you guys everyday or I get worn out so I bounce around now. One thing I’ve noticed that you haven’t addressed by the end of great hunt is that a week is 10 days in wot. Not 7 like you guys have been saying. If you’ve fixed it sorry to bring it up, but it bothers me in the early stuff that it’s wrong.

    Even more WOT!
I just started listening to the podcast and started from the beginning. The hosts are insightful, fun to listen to, and really show an interest in researching each topic and chapter of this epic series. Thanks so much and I will continue listening for a very long time!

    Pretty Good So Far
I’m on TGH episodes. While they’re better than any other WoT podcast out there hands down, they do err on a few things. The main one that irritates me is that they keep insisting Rand is 7 feet tall for some reason, despite evidence to the contrary all over the web and the books. Hopefully this gets corrected in future episodes. Otherwise- great job guys!
  • KenoshaDad
    The most exciting analysis ever
These podcasts are so engaging I’m always reluctant when I have to take a break from listening. These guys are so thorough, and they come (as close as is humanly possible with the WOT) to hitting every topic from every angle in every chapter. As long as there are WOT Spoiler podcasts to listen to, I can drive through the worst of traffic while remaining a deep well of inner peace and tranquility.
  • PBRFan518
I love listening to their commentaries on WOT!
Me: I love listening to this podcast! Lots of great theories and things that I might have missed on my own re-read of the series! I love it! Also Me: I'm nodding.

    Absolutely addicting
I haven been listening to Seth and Patrick everyday for the last two weeks now. They are very entertaining as well as knowledgeable with all things WOT.

    Great Podcast!
Seth & Patrick really helped me dive deep into the WoT universe! I picked up the podcast right after it started being released which was also when I started reading through the series. I was spoiled right away but didn’t mind. I’ve tried listening to other chapter by chapter review podcasts and don’t enjoy them as much as this one. These guys really are the best!

    Going Deep!
I have read the series many years ago and finished when the last book was released. I have recently started doing a read though with friends and this podcast help bring insights and clarity to chapters as I’m working through the series. You two help me bring great conversations to my reading group. Keep it up!!

    Outstanding work!
Every chapter I learn something new from these two. I only wish they would stop inviting the White Tower folks for discussion. Seth and Jacob roam far afield in interesting ways, the WT folks roam in a grating, annoying, shut the episode off kind of way. I’m currently going through audiobooks for a second “read” and listening to the podcasts for earlier chapters and find their insights and thoughts add great depth to my reading. Planning to attend spoilercon and so should you!

I am happy to have found this podcast. I have read and listened to this series countless times. It’s refreshing to hear another point of view of the events that happen.

Five stars for their WoT discussion, but they lose a star for acting like their political side is the only valid one.

    Know what you’re doing!!
Before you do a podcast on a book series... please know what you are doing!!! These guys DO!!!! It’s the best WOT podcast out there. Not even the guys I’ve been reading this series since 1993 know how to discuss this properly, like Seth & Patrick!!
