WILLIAM MELLEY.COMQwertyYou are drinking

TheRealQuailmanLate arrivalFound this podcast several years after it’s beginning but it’s overall a great listen…save for one, immensely irritating aspect: they eat and drink throughout. You constantly hear chewing, swallowing and various mouth noises that really detract from the topic at hand. Impossible to ignore.
-
afoxcreativeEasy ListenA good, easy listen. I’d love to hear some things in more detail but it’s enjoyable overall and I like the casual tone.
-
fitzfan12Excellent deep dive!I only award 4 stars because George Washington himself does not have a podcast…at least none that I know of ;). Easy to follow and entertaining , a lot of background about what it was like to be a patriot at this time and very even handed. No political biases, just history.

hi to guy V h NIt is very calmingGood

JimB@Excellent, but what about 1777?Really and excellent listen. Very well done. My only disappointment is that they skipped the Philadelphia Campaign. There is an episode with that as the title, but it is all about the Conway Cabal. They skipped the battle of Brandywine (second largest of the war) and the Battle of Germantown. However they include maps of Brandywine on the web site. So I am confused. Yet still really good podcast.

Mango MussoliniGreat Historical BackgroundI love the historical background on this podcast. I’m a teenager from Boston who loves learning about the Revolution, and this is a great outlet to learn from. Also, love the family friendliness. Thanks for doing this show!
-
William CoonsGood PodcastWould’ve given 5 stars had you not started eating during the episode about British soldiers
-
James in ChicagoCursory Review of the Revolutionary WarInteresting overview of the key battles of the revolution but not a lot of depth. They have done a lot of work to present the podcast but leaves you wanting more information. Also The constant drinking can be heard on the microphone to the point of distraction.
-
Keith McCallGood stuffInformative and entertaining

DarByFarEnjoying the PodcastsProfessor James Early was my American History 1 and American History 2 instructor (at San Jac South). He and Professor Scott Rank are a great wealth of information and the splashes of humor intertwined in the broadcasts are an added bonus. My love and appetite for American History is always satisfied as I listen to these two share historical accounts and insightful details. “Hi” Professor Early. Darlene Burkey the existential non-traditional student. Ha, ha,ha!
-
TrilolightGreat showGreat podcast. Really enjoyed this as well as their podcasts on WWI and the Civil War.
-
qwerty 2022Move onThis cliff notes version of the war is narrated by a pedantic know it all and a other guy who sounds like he,s eating a three course meal during every episode. Many more informative and entertaining pod casts out there.
-
yeti ruxpinworth a listenDefinitely a great podcast, I really enjoyed it
-
revriflemanThey need to read a little more about the Southern CampaignI really wanted to enjoy this but it was not to be . I must admit my bias, I have been reading about the Revolution since I was in elementary school. I was raised seven miles from one of the most important battle grounds of the Revolution and yet they blew through it in two minutes. After talking about Yorktown they back tracked and made the statement that not much happened between Cowpens and Yorktown. A few minutes later they mentioned Guilford Courthouse; what could be the Super Bowl of the Revolution. Cornwallis had the cream of the British army : the Guards, 33rd, 23rd , 71st Highlanders and Von Bose. Greene had the Maryland and Delaware brigade, Virginia Brigade, and Lee’s Legion. Cornwallis lost one in four of his army and was left with the only option of marching to the coast. Without Guilford Courthouse there would have been no Yorktown. It was the most important battle of the southern campaign and they skimmed over like it was a skirmish

Flex ChambersHighly recommendLove listening to these two. Would love to hear more from them on other wars throughout American history
-
Q-b0n3sWell doneWhat a well done podcast. I am a revolutionary war buff and have read a lot of material on this subject. James and Scott were accurate by every account, and even taught me some new things that I did not know. We’ll done to you two.
-
Xela9891Awesome!Loved listening to them talk about the different aspects of the war that I never knew. Very entertaining and informative.
-
Yogini613Great for educator!I teach 5th grade American History and enjoyed this podcast because 1. Super interesting 2. Gives me anecdotal information to share with my students Thank you !!
-
wardoggirlGreat podcast!James & Scott are excellent historians & even better storytellers! After listening to their Civil War podcast, I was excited to see that they have done other historical podcasts like this one. (I would have majored in History if James Early taught History in College.)They make learning history unbiased, very interesting, & thoroughly enjoyable with the background stories of many characters. I would definitely recommend this podcast to everyone, esp. all high school & college students. Unfortunately, the subject of American & World History in the U.S. educational curriculum is severely lacking. Thank you for providing us with this podcast!
-
Fan of Founding FathersWell put togetherThis podcast nicely put together a chronological story of the important battles of the war. I enjoyed the analysis of the mistakes and well-played moves on both sides in the battles. They also spent time helping us understand the backgrounds and character of the key figures, which I enjoyed.

Me111113839Just a bit slow too slow with way too much side conversations for me.These guys provide good information, but the commentary is very slow paced and it seems to take quite a while for them to get to the point.
-
U.N.C.L.E SoloVery EngagingVery engaging and wonderfully informative; the lads, James and Scott, provide depth and understanding in a friendly, yet learned manner. Hey ... Frankly, this podcast is a fun time. History is enjoyable!
-
AlirniaBalanced and understandableEasy to follow, factual, and fascinating. So glad I happened upon this podcast.
-
Steve in Carmel, INEntertainingGreat story telling. Both guys play well off of each other. Funny when they want to be and informative and entertaining always.
-
Jordan FermenickThanks!Love this podcast and love James and Scott. Thanks for making this so entertaining and easy to understand.
-
olivestonesKey battles of the Revolutionary WarFantastic series! Too often history podcasts lose the listeners by droning on about a historical timeline. The authors of this podcast do an excellent job of bringing the story to life while supporting the story with dates. Both authors have an extensive background and can narrate the story without sounding like they are simply reading from notes. Their coverage of the war has inspired me to listen to their other works including the Civil War. Well done!
-
SusdoobieExcellent!!If you like the Revolutionary War, or even if you don't, you will after you listen to this! Excellent work and very well put together!
-
rlk.wcVery GoodVery good overview of the war. Would like to see you take on the French and Indian Wars since you are going backwards from the Civil War which I enjoyed as well.
-
TangoCharlie_85AwesomeThis is a great podcast that I’ll listen to again. Something that should be played in schools!
-
Lh04177Love these podcastsBeing a die-hard history lover, these are perfect for any car ride, cardio session, or when you’re cooking. I hope you two do more of these. War of 1812 or WW2 series on the way??
-
•••CDP•••Very well done!Excellent history lesson that includes some history on why the war started in addition to the battles.
-
Archie20165 stars!Excellent podcast, you won’t be disappointed! The two are great story tellers and always keep the story flowing. Very entertaining, very enlightening. Check out Ley Battles of the Civil War too.
-
ZhopzhExcellent!Excellent. Really enjoy. It will give you a time warp headache with the constant references to the Civil War though. Oh and if you care about diction, the way James pronounces peninsula will make you lose your mind (pe-nin-chu-la >>>>> 🤯)

🎠🏕Fun HostsThe hosts have a good sense of humor.
-
Jfsp1History at its bestGentlemen are great I can’t stop listening. Highly recommended if you want to learn
-
Jay FoulkLove it!I’m a big fan of U.S. history but lacking in knowledge of the American Revolution. This podcast makes me want to learn more while I’m learning! The format is very enjoyable and fun. I’ll be listening to everything that Scott and James put out. Great work!
-
AmanananabvGreat information and insight presented in such a m enjoyable wayIf you are remotely interested in American and/or military history, you’re going to love this podcast. In addition to all the great stories and details presented about the Revolution, Scott and James do a masterful job narrating and are just two great guys to listen to. By the end of the first episode you’ll start to feel like they are just a couple of your buddies - they do a fantastic job, check it out!
-
FF🏝AmazingI listen to this and I get a lot of great history
-
NomdeGuerraFunny, Entertaining and InformativeThis podcast is very informative. You will definitely learn a ton about the American Revolution. It is also very entertaining. I'll listen to an episode and not even know where the time went because I enjoyed it so much.
-
Christian205In Depth and EntertainingMuch like their previous Civil War Series, Scott and Early brought the same energy and entertainment that one would expect of two history nerds discussing one of the biggest and most pivotal periods of American History. The usual unbiased views that one can expect from these guys come in; but at the same time unexpected twists and turns help paint a character in a much different light. This war is hard for the common person to read in a play by play, so the fact that they have done it in an easy to follow along way and keep the listener wanting more, is a massive testament to their podcast. 10/10 recommended and wouldn’t change a thing (even the mispronunciations, they own it).
