MarahTillmanUnparalleled podcast for surgical residentsI was an avid listener in residency and this podcast was an excellent source of learning materials as a resident. I also used their oral boards course and it was better than the more expensive courses! This podcast and their related products were undeniably instrumental in my success as a surgical resident. Now as a board certified general surgeon I still find useful information in their journal review episodes. Can’t speak highly enough of this podcast!

Jordo_3000Well done. The AOSA series is an excellent addition to the podcast and encouraging to young surgeons unsure if there is a seat at the table for themselves. Thank you for the inclusion.

AydiossssssssdRace/ Gender/ socioeconomic statusI appreciate the anatomy and procedures that this podcast makes available regarding ACS standards. It’s my expectation that voices on this podcast include women of color and trans and non-binary voices to the podcast. There are plenty of generalists and specialists who “fit the bill”. Give them a more central presence.

Foxmac59Reading a scriptContent is excellent. However, that all of the content is read from a script gets boring. And, honestly, you all sound like you’d like to be somewhere else.
-
Clint GatesThank youI have listened to BTK since residency. It seems like the content just keeps getting better. Thoroughly appreciate what you all do! Thank you from a general surgeon in the midwest!
-
davskerFantastic Oral Boards PrepThe oral boards prep is streamlined and perfect for review no matter where you are. It’s my favorite study tool for the boards.

Kerrynet32Same ABSITE review recordings for multiple yearsHave followed the show throughout my residency and it has been an invaluable tool for learning. However, the ABSITE review series has been the exact same copied recordings for the past 3+ years now… each year just an update to the year dated. I’m not sure what Medtronic’s sponsored this year in the new material other than advertising. Also, the audio quality is poor from the newer female contributor.

KERGMOral Boards Premium ReviewI've been using BTK since I was a resident. Fast forward 6 years, and I can't stress enough how amazingly helpful the Oral Boards review is. They taught me how to think, how's to verbalize, and how to succeed on the Certifying Exam. HIGHLY recommend.

AtbinDoroExcellentBTKIs a wonderful resource for residents students and surgeons in practice. They have recently added materials for medical students who desire to pursue surgery and my medical students found it extremely useful. They also cater to surgeons in practice by adding the Financial series. I highly recommend it to anyone who desires to be a surgeon, or is a surgeon or is trying to perfect their craft!

SunLover92A Must To Survive Gen Sx!!!An extremely useful resource in preparation to the ABSITE and for residency to. jj6212Similarities to a bookDoes anyone else feel that the oral board samples are extremely close in content and order/delivery to the scenarios laid out in clinical scenarios in surgery by Dimick et al?
-
Studying fellowTotally worth it- New BTK Oral Board ScenariosThese premium scenarios are super helpful. It's been great for my learning to hear oral boards scenarios with perfect answers. In other platforms, listening to scenarios one has to listen to scenarios where the answer may not be correct and the examiner does not intervene - this makes me worried that I will learn incorrect information. So, BTKs format and approach is truly welcomed, and is the best tool we have available.

mg39213210/10By far the most EXCELLENT board review. Thank you guys for taking the time to present this high yield information in such a concise way. And thanks for making me look like less of an idiot on my OR rotation lol, I actually got a lot of pimping questions right from listening to an episode every night!
-
3rdYearMedStudentLove you guysThank you so much for doing these podcasts. You guys make studying for absite and oral boards so much better. Please add more oral boards content!

Dr. Morgan PSMBoardsDefinitely helped me pass my general surgery board exams!
-
Dr DYKFantastic ContentGreat behind the scenes look and talk with experts in the fields of surgery. Long time listener who recently had an opportunity to briefly work with this fantastic group of surgeon educators. ABSITE reviews are particularly useful for residents and those still in training.
-
Rachelle$toneGreat podcastI found this podcast when I was preparing for my surgery rotation as a PA student. They covered a lot of the questions that my preceptor “pimped” me on during cases. This was so helpful to listen to during my commute! Thank you for making this podcast.

KNHarrellEssential listening for residentsI can’t say enough good things about this podcast. Amazing content, engaging discussion and an essential resource for surgery residents anywhere.

Victim12514364Great podcast...BUTThe OG surgery podcast. Great for residents/fellows/young attendings. Essentially has a monopoly on the market, which is never a good thing for the consumers. Would like to see other podcasts step it up. Recently, some of the episodes have had a lot of “fluff”. The most recently uploaded episode on “melanoma landmark paper” had about 15min of content stretched out into a 45min episode. Actual content starts at 9:00. The benefit of a podcast as opposed to live broadcast is the ability to edit out the awkward pauses, “umm’s” and meaningless statements/pleasantries. Hoping to see improvements on that.
-
BigRizzle809Great podcastGold standard for surgical podcasts. Great podcast for surgical residents and fellows. Great topics. Great content. Great discussions. Highly recommend.
-
user82736392FantasticYou guys have done an awesome job putting together absite review episodes. I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to make the episodes. Aside from parts that require brute memorization, your explanations as to WHY make it easy to understand the thought process behind the answers and make it memorable.

obacker19Incredible, entertaining and empowering! This is a must listen to show if you’re thinking about becoming a surgeon, going into medicine in some capacity or just want to learn more about what the world of surgery looks like - from actual surgeons! All of the hosts do an incredible job bringing on guests in the field who cover a wide variety of topics that apply across the entire medical landscape - all while keeping the focus of surgery as the backdrop. Highly recommend listening and subscribing!
-
eemks09Amazing surgical resourceAnnual ABSITE review is incredibly helpful, and such a nice break from staring at a computer screen! I listen on my way to/from work every day, making my commute a more efficient use of time. The topics outside of ABSITE are also great tools for learning more about current issues in surgery as well as career development and hot topics at annual meetings. This is an invaluable resource- I would highly recommend to every surgical resident, fellow, and faculty invested in surgical eduction!
-
AmytheflyingKGreat review for ABSITE and Qualifying ExamThis is a great review for not only the yearly ABSITE but don't forget to listen as a review for the GS QE in July this year! Will pass along this resource to many residents/Fellows.

-
Gen Surg R3Best Absite Review and Surgical PodcastI first started listenting to this podcast as an intern and learned so many little tidbits that were useful on the wards. As the ABSITE review episodes came out, I quickly incorporated those into my yearly studying. I attribute a large part of my high absite scores to these reviews. You guys deserve a medal for your work.
-
IsaballllsAmazing guests, interviewer ehh...I listened to the first episode, the surgeon was very comprehensive answering each question in which the interviewer responded with “um great so...,” or “uhm that’s awesome so...”. Terrible and awkward!
-

Johnny 5 spotAMAZING PODCAST FOR RESIDENTS AND BEYONDThis podcast is nothing short of incredible. As a surgical resident, this should be required curriculm.. but even as a med student or patient each podcast is incredily informative, interesting and enaging. I think my entire program is using their lectures to prepare for ABSITE and/or boards. I only wish I had found it sooner. PLEASE NEVER STOP!
-
melw813Great!Very informative podcast. The absite reviews helped me pass my boards! I also love the new journal clubs.

Jon MS4You guys are the real MVPs!!!God bless you guys! The content, the delivery, the organization... I just discovered the podcast and have been binging for the last 5 days when I’m burnt out from studying for Step 2. It’s still hard to believe that I’ve come across such a goldmine! You guys will have a hand in any life I save in the future.
-
NicksOtherNameUnparalleledThis is simply the best, most compact and most salient resource for students and surgical trainees. The contributors clearly devote more time and energy toward preparation for each episode than do many journal podcasts. The result is, quite simply, a quality product that is invaluable to this community. I commend also the surgical programs that support this effort and lend it their talent - these are the future leaders of training in our field.
-
CaALPuGiGreat Podcast!!!Best surgical podcast! Accurate, to the point.
-
surfsurgeryExcellentI’m a recent graduate from a prestigious institution and working in a semi academic community position without all the accoutrements of a big academic center and really enjoy your podcast to supplement my need and desire for academia.
