    One Main Complaint
The content is great and the podcast as a whole is informative, wholesome, etc. One thing though..the host, Seth, does this weird podcast/stream voice that is very hard to listen to. 4 pitch changes in his voice in a single sentence like a 2am infomercial. Trying WAY too hard to “sound” like a podcaster - and I don’t think it’s his legitimate way of speaking. Just speak normally and professionally and the podcast comes away in a much better place.

    Terrible show
The hosts laugh and cheerlead the exit of players with deep connections to the game in favor of new players that won’t stick around. And they do this because they have pathetic obsessions with IPs that have been run into the ground and are garbage. I hope mtg goldfish and universes beyond fail.

    Great Way to Learn
I started playing a long time ago(Ice Age/Tempest-ish) and was a dumb little kid so i never really knew much about different formats and was more just collecting cards and playing with my friends who didn’t know any more. Then I come back to the game many years later and it’s pretty intimidating to show up to an LGS and try to play with so many more cards, formats, etc. This podcast has been great in helping me learn about basic stuff, like I didn’t even know what Standard or Modern even meant, so to hear about it being talked about gives me helpful context to not feel so out of the loop. Thanks guys, I really enjoy you all.

    My favorite podcast
I really enjoy this podcast. It feels like sitting down after FNM with my friends and having a rounded conversation about the game as a whole. This show is great way to stay up to date on the happenings of MTG while listening to your favorite content creators have a relaxed discussion.

    Not good for casual players
These guys have really lost their way. I have been listening to them for years and the podcast is truly meant for a small circle of Magic players. Shorthand names, off topic conversation, and random arguments about combos that are never explained are so common place that if you are new to Magic or a casual player this podcast will not help you. Not only do they not inform or explain well, but they also spend countless hours gabbing about the “politics” of Magic. Currently they have been talking over and around each other about some online feedback about Mark Rosewater, have not even started talking about Magic yet… I think players like the members of this podcast (the German guy excluded but they got rid of him) are helping to spread a toxic mentality within this game itself. 10/10 would NOT recommend!

    Please fix audio.
Please fix your audio. There are bangs in the background, tapping, and other odd noises that could easily be reduced or eliminated.

Like Sports Radio for MTG but Better
It’s a good mix of thoughtful opinions that all take mtg exactly the right amount of seriously.

    Awesome Podcast
TBH I’m a casual magic player but the crew at MTG Goldfish always make my passion for it peak. The podcast is awesome the YouTube is awesome, K don’t even play commander but the Commander Clash channel is incredible. I do wish they focused a bit less on competitive and more on just fun builds like I used to play when young but I fully understand. Absolutely great stuff that I wouldn’t change a minute of.

    Love the show
Great show and rly love everyone they always have a interesting opinion and great cards my only complaint is that they never read my fishmail richard if u read this my question is what is the first magic card you think of at the top of mind
  • Seamless Loop
    Always a joy
These three guys are always fun to listen to. They laugh a lot and make everything about magic fun! Always a highlight of my week. A must listen if you like MTG.
  • banter with carl nick georgee
    Brandon Sanderson MTG lore
PLEASE PLEASE MAKE BRANDON SANDERSON WRITE THE MTG LORE!!! His books are incredible and it would be so amazing to read magic lore. For Christmas I asked for some of his books and some mtg cards so if I could combine my two favorite hobbies, I would flip out!

    Nice
I really like that you guys summarize the news because I’m not on social media every minute of the week, so I tend to get my digest from you.

    Excellent
The website is great for decks, and the podcast is great for info. Pretty much my go to for general Mtg content.
  • nosnhoj revilo
The best MTG podcast out there
Been listening since 2015, the best way to stay informed on the world of magic, even when I’m not actively playing.
  • howtobereal
    Amazing
Crims great, seths great, and Richard is great. One of my favorite mtg podcasts!
  • TheCrookedCroc
    Actually terrible
Horrible almost every episode. Pessimistic, horrible opinions. Honestly don’t know why they play the game or have a podcast. Crims alright tho

    Questing for Mythic
Crim (TheAsianAvenger), Seth (SaffronOlive) and Richard (BlackTuna) are incredible hosts!  Each week they dive into the Magic universe to discuss the various happenings across the galaxy.  I was able to hit Mythic playing MTG Arena a few months ago for the first time.  I was playing an Obosh deck before the companion nerf.  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays if your crew celebrates?!  Best, Mogwai Bubbles #94642

  • liter_of_cola
Great Show and review of content
Appreciate that they don’t always agree with each other on topics and that they have different interests/play styles in the Magic world.
  • gdmdjebeveixbcbdj
If crim would take a speech class
Imagine the most popular podcast of mtg. Now imagine a host that laughs and uses verbal pauses. Put that man thru a speech class. Thank you. Everyone else is great. Get rid of crim!!!!!!
  • locinmit
    Good Magic Content
I think they are very entertaining to listen to as a group! Keep it up, guys!
  • Ir-dawg
Crim definitely holding the podcast back
Not sure what he adds. He interjects and distracts from the flow Seth and Richard sets up. I feel the weird tension. Don’t mean to be harsh but there’s definitely not sure about Crim

    Voices are unbearable
I listened to two minutes of this podcast. I love the website, but I can’t stand these guys voices.
  • mattyice222
    love the show
you guys are great and love your interactions greta job keep it up!
  • maitetsu
More for the casual/arena only players
Decent podcast overall, but the hosts, particularly Richard, seem to be quite ignorant of formats outside of what’s on arena. Richard tends to be outright wrong in his perception of modern for example, and would be nice if Kess or Ben from the Masters of Modern podcast could come on periodically.
  • stevenslye
Richard is an exceedingly negative jerk. Seth is Jiminy Glick. Crim is cool.
Seth is also mostly cool; although, he’s a bit too “Richard” at times. Richard, tho... You’re such a drag. Your whining is obnoxious. Do something else, for everyone’s sake. May you find some happiness.
  • jch200
    Honest Takes
Long time listener. Love hearing the crew’s opinions on the state of the game every week, and it’s nice to get the news if I didn’t have time to catch everything. I like hearing their takes on things. Of course I have my own opinions too, but they do a nice job breaking things down. Thanks guys!
  • Chrome10mm
    Richard ruins it
If you wanna listen to Richard (the owner of MTGGoldfish) complain and cry about magic the gathering for an hour every week this is the place to get your fix. For some reason you can also hear him slapping his gums when he talks I thought I was the only one until I saw a review mention it also. Crim is always great to listen to and I used to love this podcast overall but I’m tired of all the complaining and whining that’s constant.
  • Rashrader
Too much of an Agenda for my taste....
I was all in and enjoying this podcast until they started calling for and predicting the death of paper Magic. I know, it was only one person. Regardless, I am certainly not going to support this sort of “End of the World” fanaticism. See you guys. Good Luck.
  • moconfi
    Amazing 😉
I have gotten so much great information and entertainment from this great podcast! You guys are the best!
  • mark wy
    Top notch!
If you only listen to one MTG podcast this should be it. Super current and interesting. Stay up to date with three people that have a deep relationship with MTG.

    Good for casuals
If you are looking a nuanced look at the meta, and your a higher level player, not a good podcast for you. This is much more a podcast from the average joe perspective, which personally I enjoy because I don’t have the time or money for magic to be a serious hobby for me. They often talk about what they see on the internet, and if you frequently browse reddit and twitter, and watch out for magic news you won’t hear anything new. I personally want me news curated and don’t want to have to make an opinion for myself. To summarize, great for a casual player.
  • Dday2406
    Useful info but too lax
I appreciate having a good time or people making a good joke to laugh at but the hosts literally use laughter as communication mechanism because they can’t take themselves seriously. While I get that can be hard to get rid of that habit, it’s horrible to listen too when it’s over a third or half of the podcast.
  • P4ras
    Amazing Podcast
I learn everything I need to know about Magic from this podcast, and helps me stay up to date on releases and changes
  • Tarkelz
    A good friendcast
Seth, Crim and Richard keep up on MTG news, have good chemistry, and discuss a lot of things not found elsewhere in MTG podcasts. It's a weekly listen for me.
  • bonferroni5e-8
    Entertaining mtg podcast
Crime has been an excellent addition to the show! Him and SaffronOlive make it worthwhile listening.
  • JakeyJ69
    Ahhhhhh
Dude Richard ya gotta learn to talk into the mic. You keep slapping your gums and lips when you talk? Idk what it is but it’s annoying. 5 stars for Saf
  • MTWMTG
Good for casuals, not worth for competitive
The discussion is good and better yet, really topical and consistent. However, the discussion will not help you win more and get an edge in competition because the hosts are either not playing (Richard) or medium at the game (Seth). Crim doesn’t really have the radio chops to add much to the podcast. Listen for fun, but don’t expect too much insight.
  • max97212
Not quite as good as it used to be
Crim seems like a great guy, but the mix of him with the two regulars is dramatically worse than it was with Chris Van Meter. CVM provided a nice serious counterbalance to the main hosts. But now it’s all cringey nervous laughter as everyone literally laughs at their own jokes... or even at no joke at all. “That card is good hahahaha.” What? I’d love the podcasters to treat the show a little more seriously instead of recording some buddies chatting with each other and calling it a day.
  • Benjamin Thi
    Great content and evaluations but..
Can Crim complete a single sentence without chuckling? It’s actually distracting how often he laughs.
  • JeskaiMage
Chimney imp is playable in pauper!!!
Meme cards can be good!!! I’m writing too many exclamation points!!!

    Girlfriend approved
These folks are so entertaining that my wife loves to listen even though she has a mere cursory knowledge of Magic: the Gathering. P.S. Erin is her favorite. Also, when is the Newsening returning. Three guys seriously. Thanks y’all.

    Mickey Mouse Narrates Reddit
I used to find a lot of useful information and discussion in this podcast. The hosts have a younger look at the game, and their lack of experience used to bring a fresher perspective rather than an air of niaveté. However, as of late, the introduction of CVM has made it crystal clear that the other hosts are not currently cut out for an accurate nor interesting portrayal of the week’s news. CVM is a saint, bringing Richard and Seth back on track while they squawk about the same garbage Reddit topics that have been rehashed a thousand times. After listening to this week’s episode, it’s become abundantly clear that an episode without CVM is an episode without integrity. Do some research, both on journalistic integrity and finding less Buzzfeed-style headlines, and the podcast can get back on track.

    Awesome, awesome podcast!
HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLO EVERYONE, IT’S SETH. PRAHBABLY BETTER KNOWN AS SAFFRONOLIVE. Seriously though- this podcast is wonderful and fantastic for any Magic players looking for a great listen discussing everything MTG.
