I’ve been told by many people for decades that I only carry because I’m paranoid, even after I relate to them the reason why I do they still can’t relate. It’s refreshing to know there is someone with a national voice and people who listen who understand why, as professor Paul says, you need to be dangerous on demand. I will not tell the whole story behind it but once you have been targeted, attacked, and left for dead by a gang of criminal pond scum. You learn to never be disarmed again, at least once you are able to learn again. I’m hoping to be able to clear my schedule and make it to one or two of the marshal classes this summer. I’m currently signed up for the high elevation rifle course and I’m chomping at the bit waiting for August. R.T.F.O fellow students of the gun.

During the August 9, 2023 show, episode 1201, Paul had his Sandra Fluke moment. His outrageous personal attacks on a female certainly reminded me of Rush Limbaugh’s attacks on Sandra Fluke back in 2012. I will not be listening to the show ever again.

Way too much self promotion of marginal products (Hi-Point firearms, RATS TQ, etc.) Poorly planned and question the preparation of the hosts. Oh and the whole Nicholas Orr thing was figured out right from the start (it's Paul.)

As a female who loves firearms..this podcast is always at the top of my listening list. Professor Paul, Jarrad and Zach put an obvious amount of effort into each podcast. I agree AN PRC 77 with Vincent added a lot of weight to my ruck when I was with A Co 6 EN BN, 6 th ID Arctic Light back in the 80’s. I also saw the sand with you during Desert Storm I was with the 24th ID then. I listen to Dan Bongino on Podcast and next month he will be taking over the Rush Limbaugh show. He is also on Rumble and bashes Facebook, Twitter, etc for their communist ways!

Was excited for the potential to have another firearm podcast to listen to. However, this is really just a platform to spew ignorant, frankly stupid and hateful rhetoric towards anybody who isn’t a radical right-winger. Focus on the guns please and leave the stupid political opinions out!!

So much potential- some decent advice lightly sprinkled in amongst the baseless political nonsense. Other choices out there more worthy of your time.

If you want to listen to the truth about history and what is going on in America, this is your podcast!!! Professor Paul covers current day events, and how to help be a proactive person in society. He gives great examples and advice on how things are playing out in this crazy time we are going through currently. His knowledge of American history always amazes me. If you want to challenge your mind and learn at the same time SOTG- IS the show for you. Keep up the great work guys!!

I love Dan Bongino, but his coverage of the debates saddens me, I understand trying to take lemons and making it lemonade but giving me a tere and calling it chocolate is insulting to your listeners intelligence.

Paul is entertaining and informative. He doesn’t pull punches and calls it like he sees it. One of the best 2A podcasts around.

Paul is on point topical, informative, and a smart dude. This is the BEST produced gun show PERIOD! Sound quality is top notch. I’ve been able to obtain worthwhile discounts with their sponsors. Win Win !

50 minutes long, 5 minutes of applicable information. There are better, less grumpy, and less judgmental gun podcasters available.

There's good stuff here and I like Professor Paul's attitude and philosophy, but the ratio of self-promotion and commercials to actual content is way off. In an hour-long episode, it feels like you're lucky to get 15 minutes of actual content. The rest is self-promotion for events, books and products or commercials for their sponsors. If the ratio were reversed, I'd be giving Student of the Gun five stars.

Always enjoy these episodes and the work Paul and the boys are doing. Educate yourself and listen louder to Student of the Gun!

I have listened since show #1. The show is heavy on Paul pushing his sponsors. Which is fine, except it fills more time than needed. Also, Paul asserts his full 2A support and republican views. Paul will never point out how republicans have colluded to undermine the 2A. All in all if you want to sit through rambling first-person ads, and politically motivated excuses, there are some nuggets of value.

SOTG team is absolutely worth your time listening to. I have been out of touch with their podcast for a while and fortunately listened a couple of days ago. It was an ah hah moment for me. I realized what I had been missing. Now if you want my reasons why I see it as so valuable read on. This truly is a knowledge source worth more stars than iTunes allows. If they even let me have a review this long. I don’t usually do this. Get this App and you will not be sorry, period. Whether you are a newbie to firearms or a long time owner. Paul and his family are a tour de force on a variety of levels. Equipment, safety, operation, law, reviews, technology, circle of contacts, reading, trade show info, training, perseverance, humor, and for being prepared. If you want more I can also tell you that Paul is a treasure trove of history and witty storytelling. He loves reading and it is obvious. One does not come to a command of competence in any area without being well read. Paul is almost a human encyclopedia surrounding guns and American history. Want more? The Markel’s understand true prepping. If there’s anything you should take away from this current situation our Country is in it’s BEING PREPARED. Mentally most of all. More? If you are appalled at what is happening politically to the Untied States of America then this App will arm you with information that will help us keep our Republic. I do not want to see my Country become a Communist Socialist regime as the radical side in our Congress support. Paul will help you understand our Founding history, the Constitution's merits along with the oh so importance of the 2nd Amendment. You decide if you want to understand. More still? I am not a social media person. SOTG uses many platforms I am not in touch with but as I understand that world they will give you access to any or all of those mediums, you can pick which you prefer. There’s even a community to interact with of fellow Patriots. I simply listen to the podcast and garner much. I prefer the history lessons Paul gives, especially showing the way they change history. So much I buy old hostory text books now just to see the difference between what they teach now and what they used to teach. I actually have a textbook from the 1930's. No comment, my kids didn't learn history, I've tried to educate them but the school system and their mother both faught against me every step of the way. I failed. But this show gives me hope that I am not alone. Here's to Like Minded Individuals everywhere

Episodes 862-864, compiling the Morning Mindset episodes on the leadership - are among the best and most generally useful material Paul and crew have put out. Professor Paul makes you think, and gives you good food for thought. I've taken much of his advice to heart in my day to day action.

Part of my must listen list. Always good information presented with wit and humor. Not for the easily offended.

One big commercial for silencer shop with a bit of gun advice thrown in with the host talking in a goofy voice to contradict his statement and make a point in between other various plugs, I listened to episode 813 Baby it’s cold outside and 38 minutes into a 46 minute podcast he finally gets to the topic in the title.

Hey I just listened to show 820 and heard you guys talkin about medieval armored combat in Aus. Heads up, it's been around here in the states, now worldwide, since the 70's. It's called the SCA. Armored combat. blunted weapons. a hit is required to have the force needed for a sword to penetrate chain armor. So no light hitting. And yes, it can hurt. A lot. But, it is great fun. And the Mass Melee at the Pennsic War near Butler, Pa is truly breathtaking. Keep up the great work guys!
