    It’s the fun one
I listen to a lot of asoiaf podcasts, but this is the one I always fire up as soon as it goes live. Entertaining, energetic, irreverent; it’s the fan podcast that feels like hanging out with other fans. Stick around until the end for their signature “Owns” segment that will have you laughing up a storm.

Grounded, fun and knowledgeable. They make me think and smile
Hannah and Zack have coool mellow banter. Always informed and appreciated their banter. I appreciate they both have their own point of view. I’ve reduced my HotD podcasts to 2 and love to hear these two.

    Best ASOIAF Pod hands down
this is the perfect pod for book readers and non book readers alike. They are knowledgeable without being condescending and aren’t afraid to be critical of the show while still understanding how lucky we are to have this universe be as flushed out as it is. Great perspective and great chemistry between hosts. Also they say Aegon fine.

    Please say Aegon correctly
This pod is pretty good and this may be a nit-picky comment but it’s infuriating to hear Aegon pronounced “Agin” repeatedly

Podcaster game strong. Producer game weak. Here for the reread and having to trudge through 5 years of podcasts to get the ones I need is wild. Please have someone rename the ADWD episodes.

    Great podcast!
I see all the upset Dany fans gave some underserved low votes. There are plenty of idiots out there who jumped on the hate bandwagon go listen to them. I was fine with season 8 and every single person I talked to in real life loved it as well. You guys criticized with respect. You got me started on podcasts years ago!! People who hated the season basically fall into two categories. 1 - Daenerys fans. Couldn’t they see it coming. I thought it was pretty obvious. 2 - fans with a preconceived thought on how it would end. Keep up the great job and don’t let the hate of others change your opinion.

    Probably the best podcast ever!
    I can't imagine anything better.

    My own goes to…
YOU, Zack and Hannah, for not having the dreaded Nerd Voice. You guys and Stark Raven Mad are the only GOT/HOTD podcasts worth listening to. When this season ends, you should move on to another show. I hear you mention Gossip Girl a lot…maybe you should do that. Or 24? 🤪Anyway, I could listen to you both talk about anything. Whatever happened to It Really Makes You Think? I’m still subscribed! Bring it back! 😘

This podcast has been around for a long time. New podcasts are not near as good. Thank you so much for giving knowledgeable fans the deepest information for true fans.

    Helpful
Reading the books for the first time and this podcast helps me get through them and clarifies some things that I miss with my first read through. I’ve already seen the show, but it’s nice to go back and listen to real time reactions to the seasons biggest shockers. All of the other GOT podcasts on here only have seasons 7&8, which....you know 🥴. I like how this one has material for all of the books and all 8 seasons. Good job guys. Edit: I had to change my review from 5 to 3 stars. I’m currently listening to the A Feast with Dragons episodes and they are riddled with spoilers. They nonchalantly give away twists and turns happening later in the books for the sake of conversation, especially when Brynden Blackfish is a guest. Hate to decrease my rating but it’s kind of annoying to be constantly spoiled in plot points that didn’t happen in the show.

    A Feast with Dragons
Started reading the combined reading order a couple months ago while listening to the podcast simultaneously. Wild how Season 5 of GoT had not been released yet back in 2017, when you two started. All of a sudden you started talking about GRRM quarantined in a cabin writing TWoW. Been a cool two month journey spanning 4 years you two. Looking forward to submitting an OWN for the Samwell V.

    Great Show and Book Owns
The books and show are talked about thoughtfully, but with levity. Hearing the podcaster’s owns and the owns the listeners send in help pinpoint some of the funniest parts of the series.

My own is Zach and Hannah
Out of all the asoiaf podcasters .. Zach and Hannah are the ones at the party that say, hey, you can sit with us. Their analysis and reaction is balanced, approachable. I love the fan-involvement with the Owns. I love the way they talk to each other and to their varied guest hosts. They are curious and open, and through their podcast we can access so many different perspectives. Thanks for keeping up the podcast.

    Pure enthusiasm
I keep coming back to this podcast for basic GoT content and for company as I read along with the final two books in their fun chapter order project. When I started listening years ago, I loved hearing the varying perspectives and theories of the four hosts; they consistently made me laugh and I felt the warmth they had for the series and each other. Unfortunately, the podcast is different now as two hosts left. It doesn't make me laugh as much - even the owns section! - and I’m tired of Zach's flowery language, constant fawning, and sophomoric allusions to drug use. Like another reviewer wrote, maybe I am just growing out of this “awkward adult nerd” phase. It is clear that Zach and Hannah dearly love this story and the work they do, and I appreciate every minute that I have been able to listen and enjoy, but overall I am less excited to listen each week than I used to be, and end up skipping through their lame banter, which is a bummer.

    Late to the Party
THANK YOU! I was one that did not want to watch the show without reading the books. And now, I’ve binged all the seasons and watched The Bells last night and could not hear your take on it. I love your level headed critique of the show on all levels and you make me want to start over and listen to your take on every episode. Well done 🤘🏼

    Not Bad
This podcast isn’t bad but sometimes I struggle to listen because the guy is doing gymnastics not to say anything bad about anything and it can get rather repetitive at times. I understand he doesn’t want to harp and make the podcast negative but it can get to be too much when he’s doing PR for GoT for some reason instead of just being honest.
  • Topazsnuggles
    The hosts are relatable
I really enjoy that the podcast is down to earth—just two friends talking about our beloved show. The only GOT podcast that doesn’t have a chip on its shoulder. No false bravado/performative vibes/stupid nicknames...refreshing!

    Likeable informed funny
Unwarranted low reviews. These two make me smile. You want hate, go to YouTube.

    Refreshingly positive
After listening to so many podcasts about the series finale that were so negative, I really appreciated this positive review. I don’t always agree with everything the house are saying about the episodes, but I always enjoy their enthusiasm and affection for this series. It feels like so many people are behaving like they were entitled to something from Game of Thrones but I don’t get that vibe from this podcast and it’s really refreshing. I also love how the hosts voices compliment each other, both in tone and content. This is one of my favorite GoT pods!
  • aliga75
    Looking for the bright side.
Some of their reviews complain that they are too positive. I personally don’t hate listen to podcasts, so I am generally looking for the positives. Sometimes there aren’t many, but they always manage to find them!
  • Lea-bean
    Refreshing
It’s refreshing to listen to a game of thrones podcast made by people who actually love the show instead of complaining about it
  • lostie316
    Consistently Positive...
I have listened to this podcast for years...but this season 8 the characters and story have not been up to par with past seasons. Season 8 deserves some criticism, but these two are never negative. They seem to always love everything about the show...and that got annoying. Like kids reviewing their favorite cartoon.
  • OGDrDooM
    Either paid or idiots
This podcast has no credibility. Nobody, I mean nobody is “excited” about what happened in S8 and especially that boring hot garbage finale. To defend the writers makes you look like fools. Will not listen to your schillings anymore.
  • GiveMeABream
No way you aren’t paid by HBO
None. Only way you could create this much content without any critical thinking.
  • Bob T 28
    Meandering nonsense
I tried to like this show, but the two hosts sound like college freshmen trying to figure out how to make the show more about themselves. Nonsensical “deep” thoughts appropriate for a couple of not too smart kids.
  • FanGirlSD
    Love it!
Thank you for your positive and fun take on this season! Your podcast is one of my favorites. Yes, the pace is a lot faster than we’ve been accustomed to but I can still appreciate how the story is unfolding. I’m bracing myself for the unhappy ending.
  • targmanQ
    Paid podcasters
Are you guys paid to do positive reviews? You’ve got to be... these episodes have sucked and you guys are just oggling over everything that doesn’t make any sense and repeating the same things that D’s have said what they like in the episodes. You’re either paid or.... nope, that’s got to be it, you’re paid.
  • SoyAlecks
    The best
Best GoT podcast out there! Not only do they know their Got but they love the show and the books! I feel like so many podcast are just haters talking about what they hate of the shows writing. You guys give us what you hate but you also give us what you love! Plus you guys are hilarious... totally worth the subscribe
  • Real Dialectical
    Solid and sincere
First Thrones podcast I’ve listened to that has cool, normal, chill hosts who have a natural dynamic. Strong recommend. (At least we have good podcasts despite the show sucking.)
  • dchan578
Going right along with the show
Much like GoT, GoO’s quality has steadily declined over the seasons. What was once the fun GoT podcast is the bland GoT podcast. They seem completely unwilling to take firm positions regarding anything in the show and their discussions really don’t impart any wisdom. I’m not really sure who this podcast is for at this point. Maybe show only people who aren’t particularly invested in more than the spectacle of GoT but care enough to listen to a podcast about it?

    GoT Homers
This is a pointless podcast if you want any real take on the show short of OMG it was so magical i was in tears. What a waste of space.

    Boring content
Listened to two episodes of their review on the book of the tale of dunk and egg. All they do is to recap what’s written in the book... what is the point of this content. If it’s for people who hasn’t read the book, they won’t know what you are talking about. If it’s for people who has already read the book, your content adds almost nothing, if you don’t add any In depth analysis yourself and just repeat the book. Disappointing.

    Very Soft Critiques
I have genuinely liked this podcast in the past, but most fans seems to have issues with this final season. The hosts seem to really struggle being critical of the show. They bring up the good points that viewers don’t always catch, but do not balance it with parts of the show that need criticism.
  • Stucastle
    Biased
I don’t know if you guys are getting paid by HBO to give nothing but good insight about the show? orrrrr what!! But if your a true true fan you can not sit here on each podcast of this season and act like every episode is fantastic!! The last episode (4) was freaking terrible!!
  • BingModePodcastSucks
    Becoming a tough listen.
This used to be the best GoT podcast. This season has really gone downhill. This latest episode was terrible. Both of them were were so whiny it was borderline pathetic. It’s a shame that this podcast has been reduced to this.

    Love this podcast
I have been a fan of this podcast for years. I feel like I’m sitting around listening to my friends talk about Thrones and it’s great.

    Like hanging with friends
I have been listening to Game of Owns from the start when the host lineup was all dudes. It was excellent then and it’s excellent now. I feel bad it has taken me this long to write a review but I’m just not a review writer. This is the only podcast I’ve ever written a review for and that says something. This show has been a constant companion for me. When I am amped up and ready to talk about the show or a chapter from the books, these guys are there to laugh with, provide insight, and to really dig into the details that I just don’t get to talk about with my real-life friends😂. It’s not only informative but super funny in moments and it just feels like hanging with my type of people. This has been my #1 GOT podcasts for years now. Highly reccomend. Keep it up guys! I love it!

    Essential!
There are so many GoT podcasts now that it’s hard to pick among them. This is one of the best. Solid book background, show insights, and wonderful commentators. The Owns section is always added fun.

    Great podcast.

An automatic and necessary companion to GoT for me.
I’ve listened to the Game of Owns podcast for years. (Actually, I think it’s the first podcast I’ve ever listened to.) Excellent companion piece to Game of Thrones. The hosts are highly knowledgeable about the source material but not snobby about it, they’re fun and engaging with great senses of humor, and they’re pleasing to the ear. They also incorporate listener interactions plus some special episodes with cast and crew. (Podcasts with Ramin Djawadi the composer, David J. Peterson the Dothraki & Valyrian language creator, and Kristian Nairn the actor who portrayed Hodor stand out in my mind.) They’ve got over 400 episodes between the books and the series. (I haven’t listened to their book episodes yet but I will next time I read them). I strongly recommend it.

There is a reason most podcasts get their thought together before they go online
I’ve listened to 4-5 podcasts and almost every other one give themselves till Monday to tape their podcast. These two don’t have their thoughts clearly organized and important events aren’t even done chronologically. They jump from the beginning to Arya to Jon and Dany to the fireplace scene to Brienne being knighted. Will not listen again.
  • Trot62
If you’re looking for people smarter than you, look elsewhere
I downloaded this pod because of their positive reviews but was incredibly underwhelmed. Their instant reaction pod is hard to listen to as they can’t even remember simple episode details. There is far better thrones content than this.
  • dannieSays
    Good...ish
The woman host, Hannah is on the verge of tears throughout the entire episodes. She's a basket case. Barely keeping it together. I think she cries after each episode.
  • TimboSlice27
All Good Things Come to an End
This podcast use to be great. It was very entertaining and had a lot of opinions with multiple hosts. They’re now down to two and it’s more of a fanboy/girl podcast than any real in depth discussion. The entertainment value has fallen off greatly. If you’re looking for good insight and discussion of season 8, look elsewhere.
  • LawrenceOfAlabama
Basically a fan recap (nothing interesting)
There are more Thrones podcasts than seasons of the show. However I wanted to hear some news about the series finale opener. This was the only cast that had discussion out the next day. So I listened. This show is not critical in any way. Every single scene is discussed and gushed over. Basically it’s the lady giggling and saying how she can’t believe how amazing everything was, and the man agrees. No constructive discussion, no scene breakdowns. Just GOT recap with attempts at sponsorship commercials to try and make a few cents. They even went on a rant about how bad they feel for George. Almost doing a defense hug to make sure that everyone knows how bad they feel for him. Why? I guess when you got a show that spends two hours acting like it was the best premier ever, you kind of run out of stuff to defend. I liked the premier but after this period of wait I have to be honest and say, I’m excited for where it goes. The opener was just that; a giant prelude to what will hopefully be a great finale. 8 out of a 10. In that one paragraph I critiqued the show better than this fan cast. Oh and did I mention they have t shirts? LOL.
