Cheesemonger3000ADSI love to pod but the ads are HORRIBLE! It’s like 60% ads but besides that it’s a great podcast

anodized84738a step backwardsI really enjoyed past gas, it had a great storytelling aspect and I genuinely learned a lot. it had been a pillar of my commutes, and a good road trip, because it’s funny, it’s high energy, and it’s informative about the topic. This feels like listening to ambient conversation in an autozone or something. i gave it a solid try, and it’s a tough listen. The elephant in the room is losing james, it hurt the vibe of donut really bad. I wish success for Nolan and Joe, this ones just not for me, and I think there’s other pods that are putting out better content now.

That random guy on the drumsWell, you lost meEver since James left the podcast, it has been a random heap of personal conversations that don’t have anything to do with the premise of the show. Your latest episode, for example, is just basically a conversation for more than half of the entire thing, when it should be a lineup of automotive news and stories, like how the show started. Another thing is the name, “The big three” it can’t be The Big Three if you can’t get a group of three consistent hosts. I usually don’t like to give bad reviews, but I can’t just watch my former favorite podcast go down like this. You guys have to fix this or everyone that liked this podcast for what it was, A good automotive news podcast with three solid hosts, are going to leave. Donut is one of my favorite YouTube channels to watch in podcasts to listen to. Take it from me. I literally have a donut sticker on the speaker that I’m using right now, I have a big poster on my wall with your logo, and a T-shirt in my closet. I DONOT WANT TO LOSE DONUT. (that was a bad joke just like the ones that they say in the podcast now) just please fix this podcast. Thanks

bluejayFRL[YT]Had such high hopesIt was awesome when this first came out but then I realized that it was all just article by The Drive which owns donut now and it just is a money grab at this point

TrippyFellaSo many adsOn average it’s 45 minute episodes with 15 of those minutes being ads. Very obvious this podcast is just a money grab. They don’t care about the content or quality of the content. Just want money from advertisers. 👎

Ninja96073Podcast or Ad-cast?Lately this podcast feels like it’s become more ad reads than it is a podcast. The ad breaks feel randomly inserted and the pod itself is starting to feel really disjointed. Sometimes the hosts just chat, which is fun, but sometimes it’s incredibly structured and feels inconsistent. I think the chemistry is good and I don’t mind rotating hosts, but I feel like this podcast is starting to lose a central identity, I’m never sure what I’m tuning into anymore. On a side note, that Angie’s List drives me bonkers.

Alex is hungryNot what it once wasIt pains me to write this but at this point it feels like this is all I can do to voice my concerns. The big three and past gas have been my go to favorite podcasts for the past year. I really enjoyed the banter, jokes and knowledge that the hosts James, Nolan and Joe had. However, since James has left donut, both podcasts have dropped in quality drastically. Though not their faults, the guests they’ve had on recently have been terrible, with the exception of Jimmy and Justin. The guests are awkward and clunky, and the chemistry is notably bad. It hurts to say since I believe both Joe and Nolan care about these podcasts, but the effort definitely has been lacking. I’ve gone from being a weekly listener, to having to change the podcast after 5 minutes due to how weird the podcast has become. When I listen now, all I hear is awkward conversations and bad jokes and very little knowledge about the car industry. My only recommendation/want would be to have consistent hosts, such as Nolan, Joe, Jimmy, or Justin. Unfortunately, donut media has one foot in the grave, with the mass exodus of key hosts, and it is probably only a matter of time before both Joe and Nolan leave as well.

Faceplant CookiesGreat Show, Bad SponsorsThe hosts, format, and content are excellent. They get some really disappointing sponsors. I’d really like to see them ditch the predatory gambling ads.

Diccen😥A moment of silent for James leaving 🫡

AstralSmutThe ads are horribly jarringLove these guys, love and prefer this more general format relative to Past Gas (though it’s great that they both exist). But the timing of these ads and the way they abruptly interrupt the show sometimes mid-sentence is kind of embarrassing. Horrible listening experience and with the production capabilities Donut obviously has I’m shocked they haven’t integrated them better.

Peachtree1798Great show with really only one flawI love donut and try to consume anything donut related. The podcast are for the most part very well done but the background laughter outside of the main hosts needs to go. It’s the main thing that pushes me away from listening as it comes off as a distraction and half baked/unprofessional. Everything else is great and well put together outside of that.
