Bravo to the entire cast and crew. Couldn’t be better.

    Fabulous and Different
Story and production are excellent, but really the only thing to say is that Carrie Mulligan is absurdly brilliant. Like so many other QCode podcasts, this is a winner.

    when real actors take over...
it's a different world. Excellent show, acting, sounds. I often leave fiction series podcast after the first episodes because of how bad and boring the acting gets. Not this one. well done!

    When Family Matters
The acerbic narrator finds her whole life derailed when she’s forced to house her sisters who are mediums able to communicate with the dead. How these women come to play a pivotal role in the emerging women’s movement of the time is a key part of the story and is informed by the eldest sister’s narration who is keenly aware of the risks and pitfalls of being “the real thing” in a veritable sea of charlatans and grifters Excellent sound and sharp writing make this a great listen.

    Great humor and interesting storylines
I laughed out loud several times, while listening to the first few episodes. Great work!

    So good
Great storytelling and audio! The best I’ve heard in a long time. I know ad’s are important, but I wish the episodes were just a bit longer, or the ad’s were cut back a bit. Episodes are so short once you account for all the ad time.

It sounds like they’re on coke
Yes the idea is interesting, and the acting is decent, and clearly someone paid for production, but it sounds like everyone involved is high on nose candy. Relax, take it down a notch…

    Great listen
Finally, an immersive audio experience that was more than just sighing and exasperated noises! This was the best QCode story in a while, please keep it up!

    Entertaining
Entertaining but very loosely based on the real story. It helps if you are unfamiliar with the actual sisters and what they did. What was with the dialogue and the accents? Very distracting.

    Absolutely stunning
Sound design was amazing, voice actors were compelling and pulled me in (especially the voice of Leah), and much like the crowds of Rochester I was left wanting more. To those wondering about the theme music, it’s a classical staple, “Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saint-Saëns. One of my favorites 🔥🔥

    Another HIT
This is now added to my favorites from QCode! This sits up with Borrasca and Last Known Position as one of your best! Which I became a subscriber after Borrasca, so that’s a huge compliment. I loved that you didn’t leave it on a huge cliffhanger just in case there isn’t a season 2. Everything was resolved, but we were still left with wanting more if it gets another season! The sound design was also flawless, with astounding depth as if you were in the room with Katie and Maggie. Completely transporting listeners into their world as if you could see everything. The voice actors were of course fantastic as always. I’m always so excited to look at the IMDb page to see the cast and all the familiar faces. The Foxes were amazing, and I can’t say I wouldn’t be a believer if I witnessed them.

    Fantastic
I have absolutely fallen in love with this show. The acting is deserving of an award. Carey Mulligan is amazing. I can’t wait till the next episode comes out. I wish I found it later so I could binge and not have to wait, otherwise amazing one of the best shows Ive ever listened to.

    Wow

Great acting and sound, profanity is unnecessary
Foxes of Hydesville might be the best sounding and best produced QCODE podcast yet. Cary Mulligan is perfect as the lead and our narrator, taking us through an immersive world of spiritualism and skepticism. The overreliance on modern profanity, however, pulls me out of the story almost immediately. I'm not a prude, but the constant injection of the f and c words feels tonally jarring, especially as a period piece likely wouldn't be using modern slang.

WE NEED MORE CONTENT LIKE THIS
It’s so good. I keep waiting for another episode to come out. It’s been a while since I enjoyed a story as much as this one since Edith or the one about the alternative universe. I forget the title. Anyway. Bravo!!! Love it.

    I’m hooked!!!!
I’m only two episodes in so far but I am loving this podcast. While I would happily listen to Carey Mulligan read literally anything including the phone book, I am so thrilled she has such a beautifully written script to work with. The pacing is perfection and the comedic timing is spot on. A+ in my book. Can’t wait for the rest of this story to unfold!!!

Absolutely fantastic! Can’t wait for the next episode 😁

    Foxes of Hydesdale
Adult language and slang is unecessary and takes you out of the historic believability of this important true story.
  • Keirasmommy1
    What century are we in?
The pros-the voice acting is really good and so is the sound quality. The cons- the fact that you are doing a period piece based in the 1800s and using modern language that none of the characters would even be using. I am all for creative liberties but it was really hard to get into. For example the term opioids wasn't even used until the early 1900”s. Normally I have enjoyed shows from this channel but I think I’ll sit this one out.

It’s right up my alley and I can’t wait to hear the entire thing. The acting is fantastic and it just SOUNDS so good, I love how it brings a whole world alive for me.

    Accents?
Good story so far but why does the one daughter have a British accent and the rest of the family has an American accent?

    Can…not…wait.

    Agenda glaringly apparent
Within just the first thirty seconds of the trailer, it is obvious that the writer has an ax to grind against Spiritualism, or perhaps against the concept of communicating with those in spirit, in general. The dramatics featured in the trailer remind me of a quaint, trite BBC mystery. Those sincerely wishing to learn the extensive history of Spiritualism, a faith well beyond “table rapping,” that is currently practiced by hundreds of thousands, if not millions, worldwide, can find resources online.

    Here for it
I’ve only heard a little about the Fox Sisters so this will be a fun way to learn more! Trailer sounds great and loooove Carey Mulligan.
