Join us for our weekly breakdowns of Silo, Apple TV+’s dystopic scifi thriller, as we tackle season 2 again from two different perspectives: book reader Elysia, and show only Luke, with spoilers only up to the episode discussed and equivalent parts of the book.

And stick around for an in-depth dive into Frank Herbert's novel Dune – setting the stage to talk through all the adaptations.

Also, browse our feed for past holiday specials like It's a Wonderful Life / Knife, The Craft films, and Edgar Allan Poe and The Fall of the House of Usher coverage, plus our coverage of both seasons of Beacon 23 – Hugh Howey's other TV adaptation.

Perfect accompaniment to my deep dive
I just binge watched Silo, and immediately wanted to watch it again. This podcast is a perfect accompaniment to that rewatch, with both insight from the book and a fresh viewers perspective. Can’t give it enough stars.

    Level of detail is great
These hosts really pout in the work! They know the material, they care about what they are talking about and it’s just fun to listen to them explore everything.

    Highest Quality show !!!
The coverage this podcast gives is incredible, Elysia and Luke have such incredible knowledge about the material, the quality of each episode never waivers. So much appreciation for the work done here. I look forward to my commute knowing I can have them with me. Can’t recommend them enough!

    Great radio voices
Lovely-the guy reminds me of Solo. Very pleasant voices, very informative. Helps us Silo fans geek out and see the show in a greater light.

Makes me love Silo even more
I love this podcast to pieces! Elysia and Luke are a fun duo bringing us a discussion between a Silo book reader and show viewer only. It’s a great discussion and it’s fun to guess along with Luke what we think is going on. And Elysia is so great not give away any book spoilers! It’s really brought a depth to my viewing experience as well as introduced me to a new community of listeners. Thanks Elysia and Luke!

    Great podcast!
Great podcast & community! It was a great season for Silo! Sad the season is over but the fun doesn’t end, because theres much more to cover with book discussions and rewatches!

Wonderful coverage but beware of Freudian slips as a non book reader.
Love Elysia and her coverage of material so close to her own heart. You can clearly hear her passion in each episode. I will say there are occasional times where she spoils things without even knowing. Example, Lucas being her favorite character means there’s no way he could turn bad or do anything against Juliette as Bernard’s new shadow. Luke as cohost is hilarious and his commentary is witty and entertaining. John from the Lorehounds is my least favorite part of this show. He made an appearance in the season 2 finale coverage and almost couldn’t finish it, but I did for Elysia. Still 5 stars!

    Delayed releases?
Good discussion. Occasionally difficult to understand what is being said. Never know when the next episode is coming out.

    Highly recommend!
Love this podcast! It’s the best deep dive of the show Silo out there. Very witty!

    Love this podcast!
I’ve been listening to a lot of Silo podcasts and this is one of the best. They really outline all of the details and then also give book comparisons. As a book reader, once been forgetting about the book details so these are great reminders! Thank you!

    Best Silo Podcast
This is the podcast you've been searching for! The perfect companion and recap to Silo on Apple TV+. Elysia and Luke are fantastic hosts, making each episode a must-listen.

Already seen the whole Silo…STILL LISTEN TO THIS
I watched Silo twice before ever seeking out a podcast and am so delighted I’m listening to this podcast. I tried another one that didn’t even notice the screen glitch during the power outage (boooo) and switched over to this one. I love how one host knows the book and the other is just experiencing the show. It’s so much fun listening to both of them experiencing this show and the ways they are guessing at what comes next (especially the incorrect guesses even with book knowledge). But to both hosts great credit they have amazing insights and thoughts that really deepen my view of the show (and probably my third viewing). I love this show and this podcast

    Worth a listen
Elysia and Luke are funny, thoughtful, insightful, and thorough in their coverage of Silo. I am excited for their coverage of Dune as well. If you’re looking for a silo podcast, look no further. These guys are the best

    Great discussions!
Just started watching Silo and now listening to this podcast after each episode. I really like both the people in the podcast. They have different discussion styles and different experiences with the story (one read the books, one did not). I like getting the little snippets from the books (although one of the early book readings revealed a little too much, maybe edit that out!). Thanks for a great podcast! It takes a lot of time and effort to create this and it is so much fun for us fans!

Just what I was looking for
There is a recap but also a discussion about each major beat. It’s fun as a book reader to hear Luke’s theories and hear a little tinge of amusement in Elysia’s voice listening to him, (although there were parts of the show that we really were just as blind as non book readers). They have a lovely gentle yet playful rapport! I love that Elysia reads passages from the book as well, shedding light on other aspects that I may have missed in the episode, and hearing other fans ideas and look forward to more!

Nurtures my obsession with show and book
I love this podcast! Not only are both hosts engaging and knowledgeable, but Elysia is a delight. I intentionally look for femme perspectives in podcasts, and it can be rare in podcasts about shows I love. I started out only a show watcher, but read Wool during the season, and having the viewpoints from both hosts has been great. Would I love an episode the day after the show airs? Of course, but they are thoroughly worth the wait!

    Too Late!
I really want to like this more but they need to release episodes within a day or two of the show airing.

Love this in-depth and spoiler-safe show
I love this show. Elysia and Luke do an outstanding job dissecting each episode of Silo from the perspective of a book reader (with no spoilers) and someone coming to the series with fresh eyes, respectively. They both bring interesting insights and opinions about the show with an easy rapport. I completely understand frustration from others about the timeliness of posting but it’s important to remember that producing a podcast of this length isn’t done in the snap of a finger. It’s a ton of work and that’s after devoting several hours just to record. The podcast itself is worth every bit of the wait and each of the five-stars in my rating.

Best Silo Recap, slow release schedule
I listened to a couple Silo recap podcasts before determining this was my favorite. The the host manages the discussion really well and James Corden brings his shrewd humor to each show as the non-book reader. My only quibble is that they took a really long time to release the episode 8 recap, so long that I’d already watched episode 9. I know Mr Corden is a busy man, but I do wish they’d strive to release their recaps within a few days of the show’s episode release.

    Releases too late
I like this podcast but it gets released on Apple Podcasts over a week after the previous episode airs! It’s so frustrating for it to be so far behind the actual latest episode. Not worth waiting for.

Best Podcast of Best New Show
As a book reader, I was eager for the new AppleTV series. As someone who enjoys thinking more than absolutely necessary about my latest favorite show, I looked immediately for a podcast dedicated to the Hugh Howie inspired program. I tried a couple others before Elysia and Luke and the Lorehounds, but they caught me with their thorough, but engaging and insightful analysis. They don’t waste my time with what they ate for breakfast, but do share personal information when it adds to the analysis. In the process, I’ve grown to really like the hosts themselves as people.

    Best Silo Podcast
By far the best podcast for Silo TV watchers as well as book readers. They make sure they toe the line of revealing information while giving in depth comparisons. Absolutely love to listen.

The Ultimate Podcast for Silo Fans, Book Lovers, and Newcomers!
I can't contain my excitement about "Silo Breakdown"! This podcast has become my absolute favorite. Elysia and Luke are an incredible hosting duo who delve into Silo with passion and expertise. As a book lover, Elysia's insights into the differences between the books and the show are a treat. I love how Luke shares his unfiltered thoughts and predictions, making me feel like we're experiencing Silo together. What's even better is that the podcast is spoiler-free, keeping the surprises intact.
  • Around there
    Warning! Book readers only.
She spoiled one of the big season long plot points in the first podcast. It is unique that she reads passages from the books. But I will only listen to this podcast after the series finale. I am a bit disappointed that this tv show will be less for me. I was getting into it. Well I am very disappointed.
  • swamp-foot
    Best Silo Podcast
I’ve listened to several Silo podcasts and this is the only one where at least one person has read the book. Why is this important? To understand the differences between the original story and the TV show. I read the trilogy several years ago and love to be reminded about the great story-telling of Wool. Elysia will read excerpts from the book to remind us how great this novel was. Great podcast!

    Expands and Contextualizes
Best podcast for Silo, brings in bits from books without spoiling it. Well versed in speculative lit. & tv/film. They bring greater depth to show.
