ADHD Chatter

11

I had my first anxiety attack in a classroom when I was 6 years old. I started LADBible when I was 22 years old. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 34. Suddenly, everything made sense. Join me every Tuesday as I chat with leading experts, celebrities and psychiatrists. This is the podcast I wish I heard when I was younger. None of us are broken, just different. We have all always been enough. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

    Distraction
Alex continues to “ummm” and “hmmmm” so much as one thinks he is eating a yummy sandwich. It’s extremely distracting, especially for the very people for whom this podcast is trying to help.

A vital resource for understanding ADHD across the life span.
As a psychotherapist specializing in ADHD and trauma, I've found ADHD Chatter to be an invaluable resource both personally and professionally. The podcast offers an impressive blend of clinical insights, practical strategies, and authentic lived experiences that resonate deeply with the ADHD community. Having been diagnosed with ADHD in the 1980s, I grew up under the prevailing misconception that we would "grow out of" our symptoms. Like many, I developed perfectionism and various coping mechanisms that masked my ADHD rather than resolving it. It wasn't until perimenopause hit that I experienced my symptoms returning with a vengeance, prompting me to re-educate myself about this condition. ADHD Chatter has been instrumental in this journey. The podcast skillfully addresses how ADHD presents differently across life stages, particularly highlighting the often-overlooked impact of hormonal changes on women's ADHD symptoms. The episodes covering masking behaviors, perfectionism, and the interaction between ADHD and life transitions have been particularly enlightening. What sets this podcast apart is its accessibility. Complex neurological concepts are explained in relatable terms without oversimplification. This makes it perfect for recommending to clients who are beginning their ADHD education or seeking to understand their diagnosis better. I regularly recommend ADHD Chatter to my clients as part of their therapeutic journey. It helps normalize their experiences and complements our clinical work by reinforcing concepts we discuss in sessions. The diverse range of guests provides multiple perspectives that help listeners feel seen and understood. Thank you for the important work you do with ADHD Chatter. You're filling a critical gap in ADHD education and support, creating a resource that serves both professionals and individuals throughout their ADHD journey.

Now It All Makes Sense! (For real)
I recently discovered I have adhd at 29. Feeling like a failure, being hyper critical of myself, generalized anxiety, general sense of something being wrong with me.. these traits have been persistent through adulthood. It’s been an awakening journey of sorts. Excellent resource for any neuro divs figuring out their place in the world / looking for resources. TY Alex 🙏🏼🙌🏼

You won’t regret downloading every episode now!
I started following Alex Partridge on instagram and his compassionate and informative reels led me to this podcast. If you are neurodivergent or love someone who is, you will gain so much insight into why we do the things we do with this show. It’s guests are open and real, the host is not only knowledgeable, but he’s also a great conversationalist. I can’t recommend it enough!

    Fantastic Resource!
After having seen your vids on TikTok, I was happy to see there was a podcast to delve further into ADHD topics. Right from the gate every episode is packed with practical info on coping/dealing/living with ADHD. And as an American I LOVE the accent. :)

    Incredibly relatable!
Listened to my 1st episode, with Kate Spicer & WOW! Her vulnerability & honestly hit home in a big way for me. As a newly diagnosed adhd-er @ 51, I could feel so much of what she discussed. Brought me to tears in several spots. A big thanks to Kate for her honesty & to the podcast for giving her a platform. I look forward to hearing & learning more ❤️
