    Some interesting moments
I appreciate this podcast and the attempts to shed light of lesser-known aspects of Jewish history. Almost all episodes have led me to doing more research about the topics discussed. I’m afraid the hosts just don’t ever get too far into their topic for the day. They travel down many paths and sometimes forget to come back to the main road. There are many asides, jokes, and flippant remarks that take away from the topics. I like the conversational style, but there might be a bit too much, “I don’t know the answer, so I’m just going to speculate.”

Pay no attention to the haters
As a Jewish professional, I can say that this podcast does some wonderful dives (not always deep which is fine) into some quirky and interesting parts of Jewish history. It’s thoroughly enjoyable and quite informative. The token one star review seems to be from some orthodox person who doesn’t believe anything that isn’t from her rebbe. And the other person has their panties in a twist over the characterization of Josephus… Shrug. I love this podcast and look forward to all of it, especially the episodes featuring women who’ve been overlooked.

    Stories meet history
Such a wonderful podcast that shares such very cool Jewish history stories. As a non-Jew I LOVE listening and learning more 💜. Thank you for putting them out and all the work that goes into each episode.

    Very disappointing
If this podcast was advertised as a secular resource, I would have no problem with it. However, pretending to be a religious source, while specifically painting Jewish history through a secular (and often incorrect) lens is grotesque, especially in the current culture. Furthermore, specifically excluding key facts to paint Jewish heroes as villains and vice versa is just appalling. These hosts clearly lack a fundamental grasp of Judaism as well as its basic tenants. The concept of this podcast is an incredible one and I wish that it was done properly. However, anyone involved in this podcast is not just misrepresenting history to Jews with little backgrounds, but also to non-Jews, which is truly shameful. I personally would advise anyone involved in this podcast to seek rabbinic counsel that are experienced in this field. However, if that is not possible, this should be labeled as a secular resource.

    Young and thoughtful
Any time people mention Rabbi Jonathan Sacks of blessed memory, I pay attention. Such generosity of spirit is displayed in all of these podcasts. These are young voices so all the more reason to listen and encourage.

    Dear G-d, make it stop
As a trained historian who has taught Jewish history at the college level, I couldn’t get past the first few minutes on Josephus. The proposition here is that one person will study a topic “in depth” as much as they can for — how long? — and then throw bullet points onto this podcast? Just no. No mention that Josephus’s writings survived because he was writing about the Jews for his Roman masters, who btw had just destroyed the Jewish homeland. Nothing about those writings having been preserved by the Christian church, not by Jews? Ugh. This is literally painful. And the vocal fry is so thick in the one podcaster’s voice that they sound like they’re croaking. You’re not unpacking anything. Taking a hard pass on this one.

    Great Listen
I love the format. I listen to this podcast when walking at 5:30 am and the discussion keeps me engaged and putting one foot in front of the other. I wish there was a more bulky library and look forward to more episodes. Makes me dig a little deeper after a listen and as a convert in progress, I definitely love the opportunity to absorb more on history and cultures.

Not Jewish but I’d do enjoy the show.
I’m Hispanic and learning to live / worship very close to an orthodox Jew. Having come from the root of Christianity (no longer considering myself one ) I spend my worship as a Jew looking for the true meaning of the teachings of Yeshua ( Jesus) and rabbi Shaul (paul) Lots of questions on that episode could have brought insight into the true story but we all have to choose the path of seeking those answers vs telling a story for entertainment purposes. Keep up the work but if at all interested on the qs asked by the lady host they can point to the true and unfailing Jewish faith in the God of Israel by both Yeshua and Shaul. The answers can be heresy from the tails taught against them in Judaism and Christianity as well or a true enlightenment once understood from the historical cultural biblical and halackic Judaism perspective Blessings

    Hosts not experts
The hosts explain that they alternate researching different topics in history every week and their solid lack of knowledge on the topic they choose to discuss certainly reflects only 1-2 weeks worth of research. They comment on each other’s information in a trendy, breezy, style, but there is no substance to these comments - they don’t further the conversation or add depth to the conversation. I like the topics they have chosen so far, but if I’m spending my free time learning about history, I’ll get more information from an expert rather than from these two. I think their style would appeal to teenagers.

Vocal fry is a distraction from quality information
I wanted to love this but am struggling to hear past the intense vocal fry of the hosts. The hosts seem educated, qualified, and engaging but I’m not sure I can finish the episodes.
