As a busy creative juggling mom life, my creative business and personal endeavors, I appreciate Shirlee’s insightful episodes - I feel inspired and focused after every listen. Jessica (from CA, CO, and NC)Real, vulnerable, and welcoming!I've been following Shirlee for about a year, and her podcast brings so much joy and positive thoughts to my day. She is honest and gives herself grace in the ups and downs of life without pretending. I appreciate her honesty and authenticity. Seeing her grow encourages me to be real with myself and give myself grace too. I love the podcast, and I hope all artists navigating the challenges of an art business give this podcast a listen!

Elizabeth525Down-to-Earth Inspiration for Creative EntrepreneursThis is definitely one of my favorite creative entrepreneurship podcasts! I listen to it while walking my dog and always come home feeling inspired and motivated. Shirlee has such a calming presence and she's so relatable. I especially appreciate her honesty about the challenges of running a creative business. I also love how Shirlee connects with her guests and encourages them to open up and share their creative journeys and lessons learned – the interviews feel like listening in on a conversation between two friends. If you're a creative entrepreneur looking for support and actionable advice, I highly recommend listening to The Tillage Podcast!

Creative dose of support 💕My weekly creative support groupThe Tillage Village is my weekly dose of creative support. Being a Solopreneuer has it’s challenges. I look forward to Shirlee’s authentic vulnerability. She knows what creatives struggle with, loneliness, decision fatigue, overwhelm. I always feel a little more encouraged after an episode 💕

busybeemom11My favorite creative podcast! This is such a wonderful podcast! I look forward to Tuesday’s new episode each week! Shirlee has such a kind and gentle way of speaking to her audience. She speaks to me on so many levels regarding the roadblocks we can have in our creative lives. I’ve learned so many helpful things from her!

dsaagtth334This podcast helps me to keep a consistent routine!Every Tuesday on my way to the gym I listen to The Tillage podcast and it feels like a warm blanket of support. It is so welcome, because right when we are all by ourselves sometimes we can have these intrusive thoughts or that voice of doubt starts to whisper in our heads and we give up on the things we know would be good for us to do - even if we don’t want to do them. The Tillage podcast just sets the tone for the opposite. Instead of giving up on my important consistent routine of going to the gym on a difficult day, I always look forward to going and I put my running shoes on because I know I will get to listen to a supportive and loving voice on the way. Basically, this podcast has helped me to go to the gym and be healthy all throughout my pregnancy and now in my 4th trimester as well. Thank you!!! Keep up the good work :) You can be super proud of yourself Shirley!

Spot-O-RamaA Calm Presence in a Stormy WorldShirlee Fisher does a wonderful job of addressing the challenges of running and exectuing a creative business. I appreciate that she is able to cover the broad aspects of being an artist of any stripe — everything from the emotional side to the nuts and bolts. Oddly enough, whatever I'm dealing with in the present moment, her podcast seems to be addressing the same issue as I am. This is truly nothing short of magic. Thanks, Shirlee. Keep on keeping on!

CaroleAnneMeehanEpisode 104I always look forward to “Tuesdays with Shirley” but this episode was the best! Congratulations, Shirlee - the world needs the greatest artists and designers to teach, and now you are doing this again! Those lucky kids who get to learn from you - wow! And let’s be honest, “full time” is a random, squishy phrase based in outdated pseudo-productivity concepts. That said, you’re living as a creative 100 percent of the time, whether you’re focusing on yourself, your family, the TV, your gorgeous card designs or your very fortunate new students! Thanks for all you do.

kjm123445566789So Many Creative PossibilitiesI was an art teacher for the past 27 years. I am at a stage now where I am working to figure out what my next chapter will be. Shirlee has so many inspiring episodes that are helping me to discover where my passions are and what are the fears that are blocking me from moving forward. Congratulations on 100 episodes!! I am enjoying the journey with you!

TessDealTruly inspiring and uplifting!I am SO GLAD I discovered this podcast! I love Shirlee’s calm demeanor and wise words. Listening to this podcast has really helped my mindset to stay positive and I especially love listening in the car… I truly look forward to running errands now! Her interviews with other artists are my favorite and I always take away such awesome nuggets of wisdom. If you are a creative entrepreneur, then this podcast is a MUST LISTEN!

OddomissionCool premises but genericI listened to episode 70 and thought it’d be cool to hear the story of a creative and learn more about a fixed vs growth mindset. Unfortunately, the speaker was vague and gave generic platitudes and never really got into the depths of what she was talking about. I wish the host could’ve helped with that but she just allowed the conversation to just skim the surface. Maybe it’s because of my “fixed mindset” but I didn’t really get anything from listening compared to listening or reading another generic mindset “guru”’s thoughts.

FloatingAwayOnAStarShirlee provides a great experience for listenersI started listening to Shirlee’s podcasts at the beginning of the year and have really gained valuable insights by the topics she’s presented. I was so impressed by the podcast where she mentioned deleting social media apps from her phone for two weeks that I decided to join her Just Do It June challenge. This was a game changer for me, I managed to jump start my creative business by finishing items that I procrastinated on for years. Shirlee chooses great guests to interview and I’m really liking the content, she’s a valuable resource for creative people who work from home.

1amsamShirlee is Awesome! Thanks for all of your hard work in creating this podcast!

LM_CreativeTillage Tuesday is something I look forward to every week!I listen each Tuesday on my drive to and from school drop off and pickup knowing that by the end of each episode I will feel less alone, have a more positive mindset and feel inspired to keep going. Shirley graciously shares her own challenges (and the good stuff too) of building a creative business in such a relatable and encouraging way. Listening to her podcast really does feel like you are having coffee with a friend and I am pretty sure that if I ever saw her in person I would run up and hug her as if we really were friends because that is how I think of her. She has amazing guest interviews that bring that same sense of authenticity and encouragement she brings in her solo episodes. If you are looking for a creative business podcast you MUST add the Tillage Podcast to the top of your list! You will be glad you did! Thank you Shirley!

TinaNorenArtInsightful podcast for creativesSo far, I’ve listened to over 20 episodes on the Tillage Podcast and would recommend to any creative. There have been some fantastic guest interviews - two of my favorites have been with Mable Tan and Elizabeth Silver. Shirlee asks thoughtful questions. She is vulnerable, which is not always easy, and authentic. Many times I find myself nodding and/or laughing in agreement. Thank you for showing up and making this podcast, Shirlee!

kayellejayeSoooo good!I was introduced to Shirlee’s podcast while attending Immersion Live. Shirlee was one of the keynote speakers and she moved me to tears with her topic. I HAD to find her podcast. I’ve been listening to Tillage in the car during my 3 days/week commute to and from work ever since. I started with episode 1 and I’m halfway through the episodes. It just gets better and better. Great job, Shirlee.

Minor situationsKeep breaking it down!Tuning into the Tillage Podcast every week is a quiet ritual I commit to for my sanity. Being an artist is hard and takes a lot of work. The guests that Shirlee brings on the show break it down and help me feel less alone in the struggle to “make it.” Keep going Shirlee! This podcast makes my week!

Annie Birch DesignsUplifting and encouragingThe Tillage Podcast is the highlight of my podcast feed! I’m always so excited when a new episode drops. Shirlee shows up week after week with such presence, open-heartedness, and insight into the creative process, and I am constantly impressed with how seen I feel after each episode. I was particularly impressed with how openly and courageously she shared about a recent and harrowing personal struggle with mental health, and went on to discuss how it impacted her business and how her listeners could prepare their businesses to thrive through life events like it. That honesty about her experience and thoughtfulness about how what she learned through her struggle could help others was beyond impressive to me. I also love how Shirlee shares not only mindsets and encouragement, but also clear, actionable steps to help move the needle on my tiny art business. I leave each episode feeling clear headed and cheered on! <3

kikibird77Grateful for this podcast! The Tillage Podcast with host Shirlee Fisher is such a gift. Each week, Shirlee brings thoughtful wisdom and radical honesty that leaves me feeling seen, understood, and less alone. Shirlee courageously shares her own vulnerabilities and struggles, modeling what it means to show up fully as ourselves. Her candor encourages me to lean into my own messy humanity. I especially appreciate how Shirlee recaps key takeaways at the end of each show. As a busy mom of three young kids juggling freelance work while dreaming of entrepreneurship, I don't always have time to take notes as I listen. Shirlee's recap allows me to fully absorb the lessons so I can apply them to my life. After each episode, I feel uplifted and hopeful. Thank you, Shirlee, for creating this podcast!
-

gingergvtEncouraging and specificOne of the things I love about Shirlee’s podcast is I always feel motivated and ready after listening, as opposed to overwhelmed or daunted. I really loved episode 51 about getting out of a comfort zone. Love the specific tips that Shirlee includes every week.

Kat LWThis podcast has changed my relationship to my workShirlee and her guests’ ability to get at the mental and emotional struggles of a working creative has helped me navigate my career shift as a new mom. The encouragement is always a gentle reminder to be patient with myself and the time it takes to do right by my work. AndrealovesbooksSo much Encouragement & Inspiration!Listening to Shirlee and the Tillage podcast has brought immense joy and has sparked courage for me as I begin my journey towards being a full time working artist. I’m a new mom and have a full time job but have been able to listen to the encouraging words and stories from Shirlee and other lovely artists while I play with my baby or am making dinner. Being able to listen and learn in the margins of my life has helped me grow and overcome my limiting beliefs over the last year and I hope that it continues to reach and inspire more artists on their journeys! Andrea

Blake##Like encouragement from a friendI had heard of the Tillage podcast, but didn’t listen to it until about a month ago and am catching up on all the episodes. I see why I had heard such good things. Shirlee is familiar with the artist entrepreneur struggle and the issues we face. She has relevant guests on the podcast or speaks from her own experience and she’s encouraging you, but it doesn’t sound preachy or self-help-ish, it honestly sounds like advice from an informed friend.
-

What an unexpected gift this has been as I build my own creative business. Your personal and thought provoking discussions on on all the aspects of navigating this landscape as vulnerable human beings are like nothing else out there. The way that you speak to us is like sitting down with an old friend that never fails to surprise with something new and wonderful and valuable to share. And to hear you say that you are hoping for more opportunities to speak and teach, the world would be so lucky. Just wow. And thank you!
