Helpful for clinical practice and board prep
Practical knowledge for generalists who want to learn more about addiction. Has also been a great supplement for addiction board prep. Love how the hosts summarize information from the guests in digestible chunks. Puns are a plus.

    My favorite podcast
Definitely the best podcast out there for those of us working in primary care who want to know about the basics of treating addiction medicine!

    Invaluable resource

  • suggestions for you
    Thank you for this podcast
I’m a new graduate PMHNP and former psychiatric & emergency RN. I just have to say I wish I would have found this podcast sooner, even before grad school, as it is so informative & really helps me understand disease processes & treatments, as well as recognize nuances & stigma that might be present around me. It’s not just for physicians- anyone working in the medical field will encounter addiction, nurses, doctors, PAs, NPs, techs, and in all specialties. It’s important to understand so we can treat patients with empathy & help, rather than hurt. I’m now working in community mental health & listen to episodes repeatedly. So glad to have found this resource- thank you!

    Where are you?
This is such a helpful and informative podcast. Thank you all for your efforts to spread the word and share your sage advice and experience as addiction specialist. Where has this podcast gone. I see the last episode in late September. Am I to assume that there are no longer contributions? Oh dear how the panic enemy rises. And now I see that PCSS is at risk of losing funding as well?

    Great podcast!!
I’ve been hoping for an addiction medicine podcast!! I just finished the first episode on methadone. The amount of great knowledge in that episode is incredible. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the episodes. Thank you very much for the hard work and putting this out.

    Wonderful
Amazing and so helpful!!! Go Carolyn and team- thank you for all your hard work ❤️ Would love an episode on pain management, where patients don’t necessarily think they have opioid use disorder. Also, any room for a mental health specialist to educate us about primary care based interventions?? Thank you!!!

    More of this!
Amazing clinicians doing lifesaving work and sharing their knowledge so other clinicians can do the same. Amazing addiction medicine pearls. Great if you are studying for your addiction medicine boards like I am! Also great if you work in primary care and want to help your patients manage substance use issues. Useful, well-paced.

    Excellent
As a nurse I appreciate that the info helps to understand a topic not well presented as part of nursing education and learn better what may be driving patient behavior.
