    Life changing
This Podcast changed my life. The episode interviewing Alana Colleen, author of 10% Human helped me uncover a disabling disorder. Thank you for tackling these hard subjects and bringing needed information to us listeners.

    Always Stimulating, Always Uplifting
I’ve been listening to this podcast since its very first episode, and while I often will tire of a podcast and move on after several months, Kate’s collection of interviews have continued to draw me back. I love the tireless exploration of connection through the varied lenses of the guests hosted. I love the fact that Kate brings so many elements of her unique life experience into her conversations. I love the attention given to the intimate reality of what it means to be human and inevitably be in relationship with the world that cradles us. I finish every episode with quotes scribbled in my notebook, titles added to my reading list, and a brain abuzz with new insights into living the life I have to the fullest. Which is to say, I suppose, that every episode brings a huge dose not JUST of intriguing information but also of hope. And in an environment where information is so frequently used to distance each one of us from our own humanity, traversing so many different topics while still maintaining a sense of steadfastly clear-eyed hope is indeed a gift.

A podcast so good it needs a club
Seriously though, fan club anyone? I’m eating up these conversations, and meals this rich call for company.

    Thought provoking
Kate phenomenal interviewer. She knows how to tune in with each guest to weave a story from an interview. She is full of knowledge and wisdom to create a vibrant conversation and also bringing so much light, honesty, and vulnerability to the show. Thank you for the work you do and continue to do.

Thought-provoking for anyone who’s curious about the interface between our food and the land
This is a beautiful podcast that holds conversations about reestablishing our intimate relationships to our food, the animal welfare behind it, the rich environmental quality that acts as a foundation to all of this, and with the people committed to fostering these relationships- these threads all weave together to form the tapestry that is regenerative agriculture. Kate’s a brilliant host who brings thoughtfulness, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to a moral code that ties into a model for how our industrial food systems can return to something that quite literally makes the world a better place. She’s graceful with her thought processes and words. Each conversation is thought-provoking and a fulfilling opportunity to better inform our connections to the land, water, animals, and ranchers.

    Enlightened
I started listen to your podcast via search for regenerative agriculture. At first I thought you were way far out there. I kept listening in hopes I would learn something. After a few episodes I realized that if you were way far out there, so was I. Since then, I have listened to all your episodes and look forward to new ones.

    Question:
Do you think that people who have learned to hate themselves at the core- could compensate that inner-hate- by turning it into their own form of “wisdom”? And could that “wisdom “ they spew into the world- harm the earth ?

    Thoughtful, informative, & educational

    A journey of understanding
It’s difficult to properly put into words how remarkable this podcast is. Kate has embarked on the journey of attempting to understanding our world and our role as living beings in it, and invites us to come along for the ride. Our earth is so wildly intricate and the humans living on it just as complex. Kate gracefully teases out the tangles, finding the connections and asking the important questions. She does so in a way that is much more than just educational. She’s intimate with her guests. I often feel like I’m taken into the room with them and am sitting down with good friends as we build better understanding of life and death, and all that’s happening in between, and after. These conversations seem to always bring us back to the earth. “How could a podcast possibly do all this” you ask? Go ahead and listen and see for yourself. If you’re like me, you’ll instantly be on a Kavanaugh kick and have to listen to every single one! Kate, thank you so much for having these conversations, I am forever grateful you allow me to listen in.

    How did I miss this?
Somehow this podcast never crossed my path until just a couple days ago when I heard Kate on the sustainable dish podcast. I have since started listening to it non stop. Kate has such an important worldview and poetic yet approachable way of explaining things and thinking about the issues our world faces. I am now hooked. Grateful to have found this. I especially enjoyed her conversation with the folks making Death in the Garden.

For the curious heart and open mind
These long form interviews and conversations with Kate never feel forced. They move freely from the practical and economic to the deeper philosophical and spiritual aspects of living through this tipping point. The questions are well thought out and require the guest to offer more of themselves than is normally given. Kate is an excellent interviewer and she offers a deep well of knowledge and insight for the curious listener. She is a kindred spirit for those of us who are seekers, always questioning the answers we receive and the beliefs we internalize.

    Just Magical
If you want to feel enlightened, alive, grounded, hopeful, seen, and heard- this is the place for you. It somehow feels like a conversation with an old friend. She provides space for topics that I hold near, and there isn’t another podcast in the same lane. Enjoy✨ Best, Marguerite

    Essential Nourishment in Podcast Form
This is an overdue review because I have been listening to this podcast since October when it instantly became my new favorite podcast. My mind is blown in each episode and I have learned so much from Kate and each of her guests about topics I’ve been deeply interested in as well as new topics I’m just discovering. Kate’s curiosity mirrors my own, and I am so grateful to listen to these in depth conversations with so many incredible people. Kate is beautifully articulate and brings such thoughtful insights, and it is very clear the intention and love she pours into each episode. I always feel fully nourished after listening. Thank you for creating this masterpiece!

    Truly decadent conversations
I’m finally sitting down to write this review and perhaps the first thing I should mention is that I’m actually not a routine podcast listener. I’ve always been much more drawn to audiobooks and following long stories that take me elsewhere (escapism maybe?). But this podcast has converted me and I really look forward to the rich and decadent conversations Kate shares each week. What drew me to this podcast was Kate’s voice as I’ve heard it through Instagram and the fact that the curiosity and interests she shares online have a much more in-depth capacity in this form. I’ve always been interested in agriculture and food/nutrition and have worked on and off in these industries, so naturally this was bound to be a fit for me; however I’ve been so pleasantly surprised and delighted at the additional topics explored here. Just when you think, oh this episode will be about “fat” or “salt” or “joy”, you realize the journey is taking you to unexpected, vital, and interesting corners you’d never thought to explore. I find myself thinking about the conversation often afterwards and interested to continue exploring on my own. In short, I can’t recommend this podcast enough. Every episode taps into so much more than what can be relayed through a title, so listen to them all. I’m so glad I have and thank you, Kate, for sharing your thoughts, questions and, passions with us.

    What I’ve been waiting for
Kate and her guests bring an authentic, wise, and soul-bending humanity to us all with these conversations. I have butchered, biked, walked, drove and reflected while listening and have let the words sink into my thoughts and feelings and imagination. I love the long-format. It allows a natural flow that ebbs with grace and depth. Kate is an amazing human and I am so grateful she had taken the time and energy to put this into the world.

    Another light
The topics here are interesting and always bring out new ideas and questions within myself. The show/interviews are long but quite rich. As a woman, a farmer, and a new mom later in life (41), I find myself feeling lost in the world at times, as I know many of us have in the past few years. Strangely, this show is helping to bring me back to my own truth and the conversations leave me feeling lighter and like my magic, although faint is still within. I’m still working through the library of episodes and enjoying it so much but wanted to pause now and say thanks, Kate and guests. Great work, truly. 🤍

    Wonderful conversations!
The GroundWork podcast has been a huge catalyst in my thought life, and I have thoroughly been enjoying each topic Kate covers. She holds space for each guest to really expound on their passions, which leaves me considering what my own are. I walk away from each listen like I’ve had a part in the conversation and just experienced the wisdom of a sister and the patience of a friend. Her curiosity always sparks my curiosity and invites me to mull over new ideas, or even revisit old ones. I usually find myself pondering more questions rather than defending stagnant answers. Whether you’ve been apart of the agricultural world your whole life, or are just beginning to dip your toes in, please come share in a few revelatory moments by listening to this podcast. All I can say, Kate, is thank you for putting this out into the world!

A true pleasure to listen to 🤍
I love this podcast so very much. I have diligently listened to each episode from the very beginning, savoring every moment. Kates long form way of interviewing evokes so much thought and really allows you to center into each topic. After each episode I have wanted to write a review but was simply left speechless. Each new episode is a true delight and something I look forward to each week. On days where I’m bored I often consider going back and relistening to episodes. Thank you Kate for bringing this podcast to life.

Weaving Thoughtful Discussions & Inspirational Words
I’ve been listening to this podcast since the very beginning. As Kate moved from Groundwork to Mind, Body & Soil, my admiration for these words deepened. The most recent episode published in 1/31 with Alex Rosenburg-Rigutto touched on so many parallels to my own life experience. I find each episode to be informative, thought provoking, inspiring and deeply heartfelt. This is the kind of content that keeps me tuning in week after week and sharing with friends and family often. Thank you for bringing this dream to fruition… and for continuing to be disciplined in your approach to creating products and services that benefit so many in this space.

    Conversations I’ve been longing for
I’ve been listening to Kate’s podcast for months now and it’s my very favorite without a doubt. Every time I listen, usually while working livestock in the field, I feel encouraged, stretched, expanded, and more empathic, grounded, connected and informed. I love the variety of guests, some so interesting because of their academically background, some so informative because of their day to day experiences, some big voices and some voices that could be my neighbor. It is the kind of conversations I’ve been longing to have, about our work as farmers, the connection with our bodies, our minds, our partner, our local community and larger food system. Thank you Kate, for being such an incredibly smart, kind, emphatic and sensitive voice and host. Marleen - Beavertides Farm

    Informative and Timely
I listened to the episode with Lily Nichols. So interesting and informative. I am starting to think about conceiving in the next year and learning a lot about what I need to do pre-conceiving. Kate asks the best questions and produces such interesting and helpful conversations. Super impactful and helpful for where I am.

    Fascinating Inspiring
Kate is the perfect guide to these explorations that are SO important. I’m so glad to have come across The Ground Work. It pairs perfectly with the inner work I’m doing in my own life, truly, the micro and macro reflect each other. Thank you for doing the good work, Kate.

    Wide Ranging and Good Info
I’ve listened to several episodes, and find them wide ranging in subject matter, and generally very thorough and interesting. Some topics don’t appeal to me because I found this podcast looking for farming info and that’s my main interest. But the host does an excellent job interviewing, so if a topic appeals to you, it’s absolutely worth a listen.

    Going deep
I love how different this podcast is compared to other health & wellness podcasts. Kate doesn’t just allow guests to teach us about certain topics; she goes deep with them and pulls out so much juicy information. It’s everything I want to learn & more!

    Invaluable Perspective
I just started this podcast and I am already fascinated by the depth of experience and wisdom from both Kate and her guests. (I’m sure it only gets better the more topics we cover!) These episodes have made for much better work commutes. As a quick side note, for anyone listening with younger kids (as I often am), the episodes I’ve listened to are explicit but weren’t marked as such. That detail has been my only issue with this podcast though so please do give it a listen!

    My favorite podcast
I look forward to Kate’s episodes every single week. I get excited for the unique guests that she has on, but also the unique perspectives she has on their work. I know she does her best to try and dissect areas of their work that other podcasters do not focus on, and I think it pulls out new fascinating views and conversations for the guest as well. I have learned so much about how to think and be curious and view things more from a systems view. Thank you for all of your content!

    Refreshing
These podcasts are often so heady you better have a notebook at hand to jot down all the references you’ll need to look up later, but it is well worth it. Kate gives her guests ample space to articulate complex lines of thought and as listeners we get to sit back and drink it all in. Love it!

So happy to have found this!
Wow this podcast covered everything I’m interested in! I don’t usually finish a podcast /give it my full attention but this one had me hooked. I’m completely on the new, fresh edge of learning about minerals and soil and this talk was incredibly invigorating. I have always naturally been curious and interested in health and the extreme lack of nutrition education that doctors get-and it’s frustrating to say the least that I feel like I’m on my own when it comes to mine and my children’s health. Anyway this is a very fascinating talk and I cannot wait to learn more. Thank you!!

In the middle of my journey
Hi Kate, I had a dog who lived with me for about 13 years and her death was so devastating for me. Over her body I promised to her I would not eat no animals from that moment forward and I kept my promise for 10 years. When the pandemic hit I was really prepelexed how a respiratory virus could have such an impact to some and why some of us are so vulnerable and some not. I thought with myself this difference must have a very clear and obvious underlying reason. Parallel to this line of thinking I was researching blood clots and heart attacks for some personal reason and I stumbled on a podcast that turned my world upside down. Everything I thought I knew was challenged from the moment I knew Ancel Keys and his seven countries study is absolutely garbage. And my journey began from there. When I heard your episode in Death in the garden and your viewpoint about cyclicality of life and death, I felt you are in peace with this matter. Your deep knowledge and calmness really got to me and I started listening to all of The Groundwork, although still can not comprehend how you are able to kill an animal. Episodes I really enjoyed and learned from: A curious journey to the mineral matrix with Hamid Jabbar Reciprocal living with Shele Jessie Carnivore-ish with Beth Lipton

    Like an earthy robot
Love the content and concept, but she talks like she’s reading from an encyclopedia. Honestly, kinda hard to listen to. I wish she would just relax and be real.

    Fantastic podcaast
The best thing about this podcast is everything. It never fails to surprise me with guests week to week that, while seemingly disparate, fit together like a puzzle. The recurrent themes around connection, regeneration, and magic always leave me feeling hopeful and uplifted.

Simply a Holistic and Inspiring Show
The Ground Work podcast is great because Kate has some amazing guests on the show and they don’t just scratch the surface of topics like many other shows do. They really go deep and connect the dots among things like spirituality, being a good land steward, business and finance concepts and wide range of health topics. I always walk away feeling like I’ve been enlightened and am truly inspired. Kate is doing excellent work on this planet and I highly respect her ability to take what she’s learned on her own health journey and help others with her knowledge. I always look forward to your new shows

    Perfect podcast
I absolutely love this podcast. Kate has a way of speaking that makes you feel like you are there and listening to friends. the Lacey Jean episode hit home and I immediately sent it to a friend and my Mom. In the Josh Curtiss episode she had me with the quote about love in the beginning. Such a fascinating way to see a new side of a human you spend so much time with. I loved the idea of podcasting with your husband! The first episode I listened to was Ed Roberson and I immediately followed the show. Absolutely fascinating. Thank you Kate!

    Where nuance and curiosity live
Kate’s inquisitive mind and endearing way of framing her thoughts makes her podcast a real treat to dive into. Each episode so far has left me feeling heartened and armed with more knowledge than before listening in. Bravo, a really interesting collection of interviewees and Kate is a graceful interviewer.

    Hidden Gem
I’ve been a conservationist going on thirty years now and have found what we all have in common is a deep connection with the things that surround us everyday. My daughter an artist featured a traffic cone in her early artwork because she said no one values something as common as a traffic cone but it actually has a tremendous function. Kate does an amazing job in making the “traffic cones” in our lives appreciated whether it’s living strenuously or thinking about something as common as wood She really is a wonderful person with wonderful guests Curt
