zenasethThank you for this podcast 🙏🏾The Ukrainian people are an inspiration to me in this challenging world 🙏🏾
-
gabfanaticoFantastic! Thanks for your awesome reporting, interesting interviews and knowledgeable guests!

JanMasarykLess GatehouseGood biweekly podcast for its stories of Ukrainian civilians. Not as good a The Telegraph’s “Ukraine: The Latest,” but good. The analysis improves significantly whenever Gabriel Gatehouse is absent. Speaking of appeasement, the lack of any significant pushback to “Realist” Mearsheimer denial of Ukrainian agency and support for Russian imperialism during his interview was atrocious.

KazanovUnprofessional and biasedI gave it a try for almost a year. Everything is told from a left point of view. Reposting is below basic reporting standards

KlingridAppreciation for UkrainecastThank you for your steadfast and compassionate reporting on the war in Ukraine each week. You are awesome and have won my heart and my mind. With Gratitude, Karen Camarillo, CA, USA

Lalakazalarussiacast is more accurateWhat a shame that your podcast has completely devolved into giving voice to the terrorists that are murdering, raping, torturing and kidnapping the people of Ukraine. I used to listen regularly but, more and more you gave in to the terrorists. The most heinous transgression is Віталі! How can you continue to work for this “news” outlet? Are you against your own people? Shameful…you should rename the podcast to “russia cast”:we’re for the terrorists!

Justin from AlbanyStories that must be toldI have listened to Ukrainecast for almost a full year now and it’s an invaluable source of news for me to understand Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine. The hosts and their guests provide excellent commentary and analysis and I really like how the hosts are so engaging and interactive with their listeners, it’s nice to see. Keep up the great work Ukrainecast team!

HunterPacNawRussian PropagandaWhat were you thinking giving John Mearsheimer airtime? Russian trolls quote him with the likes of John Ritter, Judge Nap & Doug Macgregor… Are they your next guests? You should be embarrassed! Do better…
-
cradingYvegeny(sp?)His perspective? REplay “it” until everyone listening is as conversant with it as Victoria and Vitaliy.

Back-to-the-centerLove itI never miss an episode!

BuckeyleeLead in sound bites commentI would really like to suggest you restore the Boris Johnson’s sound bite “He can never clean/wash the blood from his hands”. I may not have the quote exactly right but I am sure you know the one I am referring to. I just think it is so powerful!

John Stryker03Staying informed for the DurationI have been listening to this podcast since the second day of the war, which sadly is nearly coming to a year now. The reporting is first rate, and they do attempt to tell things from the Russian perspective as hard as it is these days to report there. The hosts are professional and the guests include everyone from academic experts to ordinary Ukrainians doing there best to navigate such trying times. I also appreciate the cultural information about Ukraine that is shared. If you want to keep up to date for the duration, don’t hesitate in listening to this podcast. Sadly, I believe it will be necessary for some time to come.

GrabacoKutyaCan we move on already?! Enough with tan s back and forth on this recipe.

null000nullExcellent PodcastNews and interviews with people affected by the Russian invasion, and hosts that ask good questions.

dankeanke1234It’s not Belorussians! Russian sponsored channel? You can the citizens of Belarus “Belorussians” but what you say means the citizen of “Belorussia” - the way Russia calls Belarusians to imply they are presumably part of Russia. By calling Belarusians the way you do you deny the independence of Belarusian nation! Are you guys sponsored by the Russian government by any chance?
-
US BLIt’s no Ukraine the latest from the telegraphVery surface level “both-sides” commentary. If you’ve been paying attention to the news you could provide more enlightening commentary.
-
CJasper2685Weak questionsThey interviewed a Russian government official and asked only soft questions. This was an opportunity to ask serious questions but they failed.

JessHynes11Thank youThank you to the Ukrainecast crew. I live in Texas (saaaave meeee) but my heart and soul feels like it belongs across the pond. I want to say that this podcast has been such a wonderful thing to have during this awful time. Living so far away, I feel powerless to help. All I can do, besides write my elected officials and donate money, is to witness this horrific event. I am doing my best to do that, and this podcast has been vital for that very thing. Please keep up the good work, I love each and every one of you. I am so happy to hear that Vitaly’s family is safe and sound. (I probably but here’s his name-I’m so sorry😂)

HalvonatorGreat way to understand the warCritical to understanding context of Ukraine’s fight to defend itself and the Russian propaganda used against it.
-
5NDALEA bit too “balanced”Very good podcast but occasional tendency to look for reasons to place Ukraine and Russia on equivalent moral footing. Also, the assessments of the strategic outlook has been consistently incorrect. Better to stick to the human interest stories.
-
mk6sixSimple, factual reporting . . .. . . about as unbiased as you can expect from humans with empathy and respect for others.
-
drclairedechiroThey are faithfully documenting our history in the makingSay what you will about the “false equivalency” that the BBC corporate executives demand their journalists adhere to in their reporting of anything. But you do so at your peril when it comes to this podcast. These folks are documenting the most important events of our Western lifetimes faithfully, with a special emphasis on the human toll that these hubristic events are taking. I would appreciate a closer examination of globally consequential events like the bombing of nuclear power plants in Ukraine, but at least they understand that following the limited attention spans of the mass listenership is folly. They believe, as I do, that folks en mass will find their ways here, a fine repository of events duly noted warnings of the threat that the Russian war on Ukraine have on us all. Listen. We are in this together.
-
cwallindianaThe best reportingOnce again I have turned to the BBC for superior reporting about world changing events because the US news sources have failed us Americans- again. Thank you BBC!
-
Cat939Horrible PropagandaPathetic one-sided propaganda. Despicable
-
PoelugzConsistently goodI’ve been listening to this podcast since the beginning of the war. Consistently informative and high quality reporting from Ukraine.
-
ccb022Great source of detailed informationI really appreciate this podcast. It’s important to have a deep understanding of the current conflict and I feel this podcast does a great objective analysis of the issues.
-
RAKGBInsightful, Thoughtful, and SensitiveThis podcast goes beyond the news in humanizing the situation and the people in Ukraine as well as in Russia, while never losing its professionalism. Brilliantly well done!
-
hurleybuilderZelenskiLove your show , very informative . I work alone here in Maine as a Carpenter building a cabin in the woods . I listen to any bbc news I can upload ! Thank you for the work you do .Without actually telling me how they’re protecting Zekenski . Do we know he has the same protection as any foreign leader. I’ve read they’re assassins waiting to make they’re move.
-
OhhhhhhhhhyeahhhhhhHighly recommendI appreciate that they aren’t biased and they report actual facts. I listen every single day.

SunflowersforUkraineAlways checking inI don’t have words to express how much I look forward to your podcast. But that isn’t it either. I just don’t have the proper words. Except maybe, simply, thank you. As a witness to September 11th and someone who lived in the neighborhood, I have a glimpse of empathy for all the Ukraine struggles with. Our nightmare was one morning, I can not fathom 69 days and counting. Time literally stops. Yes the sun rises and sets but you don’t recognize it. You become numb to the smell of it, to the sight of it but yet 20+, I still duck and sometimes cry when a plane flies low. So once again, simply, thank you. It is tremendous work that you do. So important to keep the stories coming. Media changes so fast and Russia is banking on the fact the world will get ‘bored’ and move on. Keep up the vital work that you do.
-
Broker911So grateful for this podcastThis daily in depth analysis is much needed and expertly provided by the BBC…thanks to all those involved for taking on this task and keeping us all informed. A grateful listener tuning in from Kennebunk, Maine…

Nick in PT100% EssentialThis podcast moves me nearly every day. I subscribe to a couple dozen podcasts but this is the only one I listen to daily. The humanity and empathy of the hosts and most of the guests is profound. They cover everything from military news to diplomacy to the refugee crisis, but the most memorable segments focus on the human stories of this terrible mass tragedy. I usually listen while jogging which actually helps me control the frequent urge to openly weep. Thank you Victoria, Vitaly, Frank, et. al. You are helping to keep me from outright despair.
-
Johnny in the Mass HillsHistoric coverage.Writing from Massachusetts in the US, so appreciative of the rigor and thoughtful experience you bring to this major World event. Your regular hosts are wonderful. Vitaly brings an especially deep and poignant presence to the story. Fergal Keane is a lyrical sage.

runningonempty0No alternative - we must do what is right - for the future of humanityI was born in 1968. I am a child of the Cold War. I am a US citizen. I am saying to my beloved President, President Biden, that our country should and must do everything possible to defend Ukraine against Russia’s aggression. Ukraine should immediately be admitted as a member of NATO. US and NATO forces should be immediately sent into Ukraine. I fear that this will trigger World War 3. That fear is legitimate, and I don’t say this lightly, but we must face reality and go to war when necessary to do so, no matter what the consequences. We must do what is right, because it is right. And what is right here is to fight for Ukraine and for global democracy. There simply is no alternative.

sjundiemiReal Stories - Real ImpactI have been brought to tears when I hear the stories of the the Ukrainian people. This podcast also brings in experts that can give insight into what is going on daily.

whatever 10371916293172Strongly recommendExcellent reporting and analysis. The first podcast I go to to learn more about what’s currently happening. The hosts empathy and care in their reporting is powerful, and impactful. Thank you to all those who work to make Ukrainecast possible. With love and solidarity 🇺🇦

Gobrams17‘THE’ program to follow on UkraineHosts Gabriel Gatehouse and Victoria Derbyshire and their colleagues provide top-notch reporting on Ukrainecast. My husband and I (American by birth) have recently taken dual citizenship with the UK. We both work in the international arena. I currently have multiple Russian speaking ESL students, so have been following the war with great concern. We can say without reservation that Ukrainecast is the best. I’m tired of other podcasts that have sound effects of reporters walking through the rubble or ringing mobile phones to make you feel the ‘authenticity’ of their reporting. Ukrainecast goes much further, providing a connection to what is currently happening through in-country interviews with Ukrainians across the conflict - politicians, parents, doctors, IT experts, teenagers, etc., as well as with subject analysts and foreign policy experts. Highly, highly recommend!
-
BuhlteufelinNot worthy of the subjectTrivial and disappointing. Go to FT, Tortoise and When Diplomacy Fails instead.

Smuckazz Eeets TreetzSurprised that it wasn’t great.I assumed any BBC coverage of this would be great. Pretty disappointed in the info this provides. The hosts take the role of “we are clueless about Ukraine, educate us, guests!” That seems like a good idea, but then some of the guests seem totally clueless. For example, they all seem mystified by the meaning of the “Z” symbol associated with the invasion. It’s an Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) marking used by the Russians to make it clear which vehicles are theirs and which are Ukrainian. This was noted by many defense analysts on day 1 of the invasion, but Ukrainecast seems confused (and even dismissive of that basic idea!) on day 12. Maybe try the NPR Ukraine podcast.
-
MeganMarieTerry2016Better news sources out thereThis channel is overly dramatic to the point of fear mongering.
-
lionelchurchBest western reporting so far on the warI’m grateful to the BBC for recognizing the immediate need for reporting and interpretation about the war in Ukraine. I now read the Ukrainian newspaper Pravda and listen to Ukrainecast from the BBC.
-
LtbeasyVery goodStraightforward, informative, empathetic and great voices. Well done you guys.
-
BjMungoExcellent news source if you want to understand what’s happening in UkrainePhenomenal podcast. Important to hear first hand accounts. Terrible situation for Ukrainian people but critical to get accurate / objective reporting.
-
timwilkinsonOh my :(I’d hoped for a distillation of the days events as only the BBC can. What on earth is this!?! Not that by a long way.
-
EapolicaTimelyThanks for this timely information. I particularly appreciate the first hand accounts.
