Reviews by Pete MPodcasting at its FinestAbout a year ago I decided to expand my podcast listening. I selected a few (mostly discontinued ones) that appealed to me, and I was surprised to find that Jon Wilson was either the host or a frequent guest on all of them. This turned out to be a good thing as Jon embodies all the traits I look for in a podcast. He takes subject matter that I have an interest in and presents them in an intelligent way with just the right amount of humor sprinkled in. If you have an interest in Superman, or an interest in mid-80’s comics, or you just want to hear a well structured podcast then this is for you!

Your Mom is a popular nicknameAnother great show!I was a huge fan of Jon’s Golden Age Superman podcast and I’m glad he’s taking a look at another era in Superman’s history. The Superman books before crisis don’t get any attention but there is a lot to love here. I’ve noticed in my 40 years of comic reading that right before a reboot DC goes a little off the rails and allows story elements they wouldn’t attempt otherwise (see the last year and a half of the New 52 Superman for an example). So this should be fun.

Earth R SupermanSuperman in crisis! But you’re not, so enjoy the listen!Jon has been planning this podcast for well over a year, and the finished product reflects all of the passion and commitment he has put into it. He is a huge Superman fan that knows the character and you can’t say he hasn’t done his research. All will be made clear if you just start listening, already! He puts together a very entertaining podcast with great insight of the material covered. He shares his opinion of the stories, art, and has great information about the continuity of Superman in comic books during Crisis on Infinite Earths. He also injects some great humor and personality into this super podcast, and I like that he is interactive with his listeners and includes feedback from them. Matthew T. Cody @RadioSuperman

timprice17SuperJon in CrisisA new favorite weekly (mostly) podcast covering DC’s groundbreaking event from the perspective of its biggest hero. Jon is one of the most well-read podcasters I know, and his shows are always informative, thoughtful, and fun! Join him for the soon-to-be-ending battle.

Halk-KarThe Last Days of the Pre-Crisis SupermanI was actively reading comics from around 1960 up through "Crisis on Infinite Earths", and about a decade beyond. I was a big fan of DC's Silver and Bronze Age Superman, and I was, at the time it was published, not a big fan of the Crisis series, and even less so of it's aftermath. I have since mellowed in my feelings, and I was very intrigued to hear about this podcast. Jon Wilson came late to Superman comics, but made up for that by reading all the Superman stories from 1938 up through the Crisis, and much of the post-Crisis books as well, I believe, so, although he wasn't reading these comics contemporaneously with me back in 1985 and '86, he has a breadth and depth of Superman knowledge that is unimpeachable, and it is evident in this podcast. His mission is to discuss the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" series, and other, "regular" Superman stories that came out during that time period, on, essentially, a weekly basis, with some "non-episode" weeks, which he explains early on. The podcast is in its early days, as I write this, having just recently dropped Episode 3, but as a longtime Superman fan and avid podcast listener, I can happily say that I am "all in" for this show. If you are a fan of the pre-Crisis Superman, I think you will enjoy this exploration of that character's "closing chapters", and, if your preference is for one of the post-Crisis iterations of Superman, you might want to listen, to find out what the character was like before your time. Either way, Jon produces a fun show.

Sean42AZSuper New Show!Jon is one of the best podcasters in the comics community and I was really excited when he announced a new show focused on pre-Crisis Superman, which is the BEST Superman! I am especially excited that the show covers books as they were released back in 1985 (and moving forward), as it makes for a great trip down memory lane. Awesome job, Jon! Sean Ross @sean42AZ
