Dawn AroseJust WOW 🤩Oh Rebecca. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your material on TPT, your kind words, your expertise, your insights, and your creativity have been my professional development and total teacher cheat code for leveling up my classroom and my life. You have taught me and guided me through some very tricky bits. For any science teacher looking for solid guidance to fit into their drive to school and back again, this podcast is just the BEST.

ilovemath123Teachers LISTEN UP!I love love love this podcast! I cannot recommend Rebecca’s words and wisdom to my colleagues enough!! Rebecca shares so much incredible insight into teaching. And it is not all about science. I’m a math teacher and learn so much from these episodes, whether they are about science or not. After 14 years of teaching Probability and Statistics, my school gave me AP Statistics to teach. AP yikes! My friend recommended this podcast to me, specifically Rebecca’s episode on being authentic and genuine and honest with students. I know Stats pretty well honestly but adding in the demands of AP was intimidating. But this podcast really encouraged me. And now I’m hooked! Rebecca shares her experiences and wisdom with compassion, humility, and passion. You can tell she cares about students as well as teachers! Y’all we CAN be teachers and also have a full life outside of school. And Rebecca shares how! 💗💗💗

CiennadomkeFirst Year Teacher who’s THANKFULI am going to be a first year science teacher fresh out of college and I have been so worried about where to start, what to teach, etc. and most teachers online are elementary. Yes I love a cute classroom but what I love more is people like her who are here to share all the tips and tricks for the secondary level. I’m so thankful to come across this podcast and I hope to be able to afford the curriculum some day.

CLC2023So helpful!I found this podcast after buying the It’s Not Rocket Science Biology Curriculum. My students and I had such a great year and I believe it was largely due to the way the curriculum and activities/labs were created. My students were ENGAGED and LEARNING! It was so rewarding to look out and see them actively working vs. my first year where they were just kindly listening to lectures (trying to stay awake) after I spent my evenings pouring over a textbook and creating slides. It was exhausting! I am so thankful that I found these resources and I think my students were too!

RasilerThanks!!I have learned so much! I am a first year public school teacher and have found these pod cast encourage, inspire, and make me laugh!

LuvA&PAn Old Dog CAN Learn New Tricks!I have been teaching for 25 years and enjoy listening to Rebecca’s podcasts because: 1. they remind me of curriculum ideas I may have had but never put into practice, 2. they motivate me to be the best teacher I can be, 3. I always learn something from her guest interviews, and 4. they remind me of best instructional practices. She also makes me laugh! I recommend her podcast to all of my teacher friends.

Ehays22Fabulous Podcast!I cannot put into words how much this podcast is helping me get through the end of the school year through meaningful reflection! Rebecca has so many helpful tips that are PRACTICAL to implement in anyone’s classroom. I have taught for 13 years, but I already have a running list of procedures and ideas for next year to better manage my classroom and work-life balance. My only regret is that I didn’t find it two years ago when she started. Thank you, Rebecca! The fact it is secondary science (I teach chemistry) is a big bonus, too!

SPAJ17Everything is amazingFrom her lesson plans to these podcast it really helped me when I first started teaching. And now that I need to find a new job since my school is closing my first interview went well because of her last episode. Also I like that she has a similar teaching style as I do. So I can take tidbits to see what worked for her and see if it can work for me. I shared the interview episode with all of my coworkers.

Mrs. SolomonSo helpfulI love listening to Rebecca and her guest. She always gives great ideas and insights into the classroom, curriculum, management, pedagogy... everything. She makes me rethink how I handle certain situations and often makes me proud of handling things the way her or her guest would. I miss some weeks of listening but always go back and catch up when I get a chance.

Susan KedroTopics for every type of science teacherAs Rebecca often reminds us you can take what you hear on the podcast as use it, you can tweak it, or ignore it. That’s what I love about Secondary Simplified there is something to learn from every episode. Embrace that every teacher is different and pull out what works for you! This podcast gives you plenty to choose from!

There are so many fantastic nuggets of information that I will be implementing next year in my middle school classroom, and I love that you dive deep into exactly how you implement things like prime time, how you structure your class periods, and your parent communication strategy. Thank you Rebecca for providing such great resources for science teachers who are looking to balance having a life and being an amazing science teacher.

Tyler1951Best podcast for science teachers!!I’m a first year teacher in a very small district with very few other science teachers I can go to for help. Listening to this podcast makes me feel more prepared and motivated as a teacher. livingit2020The science teaching pedagogy I’ve been looking for!I am completing 25 years of teaching at a small school this year carrying 6 preps (4 of which are science courses-1 is AP Bio). I would have thought I would have it together and mastered the changing preps and frameworks by this point in my career. However, I find myself recreating the wheel every year, grading thousands of assignments/per 9 week grading period. It leaves me feeling like I’m always running behind and constantly planning and adjusting for the immediate class period without adequately providing effective feedback. The attempt during a pandemic to be a “super teacher” with daily engagement, digital options, and regular lab activities in 47 min class periods has just about pushed me over the edge (especially now that I am getting a little older). Finding this blog and podcast gives me hope that my classrooms and strategies can be overhauled to be more efficient, engaging, and less life draining starting TODAY! I love teaching science and I want to be better at it for my students and myself. I’m totally in! Let’s do this!

Helena313First year teacher - this podcast is a game changerI discovered Rebecca last summer when I was getting ready for my first year of teaching high school. I’d already loved her curriculum materials and her activities and her secondary science simplified course. This podcast is no different - already I’ve been able to reflect on my own practices and consider her ideas. I’ve implemented three of her recommendations so far and I know all of these things are going to help me find better balance than I had my first semester of teaching. I want to be in this for the long-haul, and as a “department of 1” it’s critical that I simplify my life to avoid the inevitable burnout. Thanks Rebecca!
