    Love it!!
Let’s talk about the Enzoni with Vincenzo, or maybe Lauren from Fresh Kills.

Excellent pod but Ad’s taking over.
I love this podcast so much and have listened through almost the whole catalog. Lately, however, the advertising from spirits companies and their reps have almost taken over the show. The two most recent episodes on the Bianco Negroni and reposado tequilas were basically just hour long advertisements for Luxardo and Herradura, the reposado episode being much more blatant. Still love most of the content which is why it’s still getting a 4, but hope they’ll consider toning down the advertising a bit. Regardless, Tim is an excellent, knowledgeable and entertaining host and I enjoy most guests!

    THE BEST!
By far my favorite podcast on cocktails. Detailed and entertaining, Tim is an expert host and the guests are amazing. My home bar is getting more and more out of control, but I don’t mind. 😜

    Brilliant Podcast
I have absolutely loved Cocktail College since I first discovered it about 18 months ago, and I’ve particularly loved going through the back catalog as well. I am an avid home bartender and history nerd, so I have particularly enjoyed how this show will discuss the background of both specific spirits as well as the evolution of particular recipes. To date, my favorite episode remains Sept. 14, 2023, the (Re)Martini with David Wondrich. What a brilliant man: he’s referred to in nearly every episode, and to actually hear him and learn from him is a treat. It has been suggested on the pod that we should make recommendations of what we’d like to hear in these reviews. I have two requests! 1) I’d love a techniques episode on lower alcohol cocktails. Things like the Bitter Giuseppe, or vermouth based cocktails like the Chrysanthemum. This is a style I’m very interested in, and I’d love to be introduced to other lower abv cocktails or given creative ideas for creating my own. 2) I’m from Boston, and I’d love to hear an episode on the Ward 8, one of Boston’s only classic cocktails (to my knowledge at least). I’ve heard multiple versions of its history, and I’d be interested in knowing the truth behind its creation. And, if I’m to honest, I’ve yet to have one that I like! Help show me how to make this drink shine! Keep up the great work!

One hour on a single cocktail??
I was skeptical I’d be interested the entire hour but Tim is a great host. He and his guest talk about the history of the drink, the variations, and tell stories about the evolution and popularity of it. Fascinating stuff.

    Ideal for Cocktail Nerds
If you’re a budding home mixologist looking to take a deep dive into specific cocktails, look no further. Professionally produced and hosted by Tim McK., this is an easy and entertaining listen that will leave you looking forward to the next episode. Now, time to get Mr. Ross on to talk about aeronautical mixology.

Invaluable Resource for the Cocktail Enthusiast
I’ve been bartending since 2007/2008 so the majority of my career was not in the post cocktail renaissance period. When we wanted to know an origin story we relied on the telephone game talk tails that our coworkers told us. This is no longer the case with true cocktail historians such as David Wondrich, Jeff “Beachbum” Barry, etc. Now with the Cocktail College podcast, we don’t just have to read the words written about the worlds leading bartenders, we get to hear them direct from their mouths. We get delve in deep and hear nuances and little goldmine tips straight from the source. We get a peak behind the curtain at what was going on at the time and in the mind of the bartender when they created a new modern classic and how it took the world by storm. As with all things there will be episodes and guests that you will find more or less valuable than others but there will always be a standard of quality which will have you coming back for more. Is every detail going to be 100% accurate? Of course not! We’re repeating drunken history! But can we say with confidence that this will be one of the most accurate sources on the market if not the most accurate podcasts? I personally think we can.

    Tasty
I love the deep dive on a single cocktail. My favorites tend to be the ones with female interviews. They seem to go bigger on the fundamentals than the guys, although I do say ‘bozo’ a whole lot now because of this podcast!
  • SkiBumNP
An hour about cocktail dilution- yes please
This in-depth and thoughtful podcast is just what I need. Getting lost in a deep dive with great personalities. Thanks Tim.

    Great Podcast
…but what happened to the transcribed version on Vinepair? I liked being able to go back and read up on some things and it’s easier in text than scrolling through the podcast.
  • PedroTheBartender
Best cocktail podcast out there, hands down
For anyone looking to brush up on their bartending skills and perhaps learn some history and trade secrets along the way, look no further. Tim goes the distance on every episode to get the full story on a different cocktail, from backstory to modern adaptations and techniques, with some of the best bartenders in the biz. For anyone in the industry (and home mixologists alike), you’re seriously missing out if you haven’t tuned into cocktail college yet.

Weekly listening in our (home) bar
My wife and I enjoy tuning in with Tim and his guests every Friday evening while we fix ourselves cocktails after work and preheat our pizza stone to make pizza. Highly recommend for anybody interested in making or drinking cocktails, or just generally interested in the booze business.

    Outstanding Show
As a bartender who has recently shifted focus towards the world of craft cocktails, this show has been incredibly helpful. Deep dives on ingredients, techniques, history, and cultural context on top of reliably delicious recipes to recreate or draw inspiration from. Also, it’s so enjoyable! Tim has great flow as a host and always brings in excellent guests.

  • jraposa
Love the podcast, hated White Negroni episode
The white Negroni episode was hard to get through. If you had a drinking game where they said “like” after every thought you wouldn’t have lasted 10 minutes. Brutal. Usually like the podcast, but this episode was painful.
  • Calebmcsharry
    Really enjoying…
…the variety of guests who share their passion and knowledge. I’ve been listening for about 4 months and am a novice cocktail guy. I’ve transferred my IPA budget and have grown my liquor cabinet to the point that I can actually practice a good number of beverages presented by this podcast. Tim leads the discussion well and often allows the topics to take a “riff” before gently reeling it in. Thanks for continued inspiration.
  • Ryanjamesdio

    Cheers
Great conversation. Good flow. Such great information. And it’s not dry like so many food and bev podcasts tend to be.
  • Austin Schwerdt
    Incredibly provocative and educational
First of all, Tim does an incredible job driving conversation and interviewing all of the guests. I love the diversity of bartenders interviewed. There is something special about listening to people dive into topics deeply rooted in their identity. So many aspects of crafting drinks go overlooked in chains, home bars, dive bars, etc. that the guests(and Tim, presumably) are so meticulous about from freshness of the ingredients, to dilution, ice size/shape, to sustainability. I love hearing how important these details are in drinks. I am a home bartender and people have been telling me my drinks are some of the best they have ever drank thanks to this podcast. There is so much history, brands, techniques, and new drinks I want to continue to try and learn about. Thanks for an incredible podcast!
  • Mg427

I look forward to every episode, and the cocktails I make at home for myself and my husband are top notch because of my interaction with this podcast. Hearing the origin stories and the specific directions on the making of these cocktails every week cannot be missed.

Great host, great guests, strong format. I love the personal opinions and preferences that get shared here, and the history of the cocktails, both ancient and recent. I binged half a dozen the day I found the podcast and can’t wait to listen through the whole catalog.

    Acid phosphate and show request.
Great podcasts. Look forward to each one. Have you investigated using acid phosphate in cocktails? Also, I’d like to see you do a show on the Singapore Sling.
