As a pediatrician and a patient in the mental health system, I have been so grateful to find your podcast for the past year and to hear the inspiring stories of so many who are empowered to take a stand for truth. Am joining your Conscious Clinician collective. In the words of Maya Angelou, “When you know better, do better.” Thank you so much for your work, and for educating us all. It’s amazing how much better life seems when you realize you are not alone.

    Grateful for this exceedingly podcast
Dr. McGillin’s excellent podcast validates the nightmare experience my son has had on SSRI’s. I wish I had had this information 25 years ago, but I’m very thankful to get it now The other topics he covers are also important, well researched, and informative.

    Vital
In particular the episode on menopause— no one is talking about how the phase of life is pathologized in the west; how suppression of the body feeds the capitalist machine and chugs women along in the pharma food chain; and how hrt is packaged (shockingly) as feminist?!! Thank you 💜

So thankful for Doc and and this podcast. It’s been so educational for me. Since Covid I’ve learned to question everything, and this podcast continues to encourage me to take control of my own health and expose the deceit of the “mental health” and “health” industries. Thank you!

    So good
Dr Mc Fillin has a way that speaks truth and wisdom that is not too ‘sciency’ and is so relatable to our states of life. He is willing to admit he is a work in progress himself, like all of us, and he is willing to challenge the narratives that anyone with intellectual honesty can see are lies.

    Found answers to husbands death
I am coming up on the year anniversary of my husbands suicide. I found this podcast when I was searching for answers to his death. Because of the episodes I have been able to put puzzle pieces together - not only from the last year of his life as he was suffering through withdrawal from abruptly going off his SSRI (unknown to me)…. but also I’ve been able to get a clearer picture of the timeline of his life and the fateful points when he was forced at a young age to go on meds. I truly can’t express my appreciation more - I am so thankful for Dr. McFillin and his guests! Each interview gives me more clarity. My kids and I now have answers to what my husband was going through and we have been able to make sense out of some of his changed behaviors. It has been helpful in my healing process to hear other people’s experiences. Nothing will be able to reverse my family’s circumstances….. but I know that God is sovereign in all things. I truly believe God’s providence led me to finding this podcast at the exact moment I needed to.

    Thank you
Thank you Dr McFillin for stating the obvious. That it’s okay to feel anxious and want to run away from problems. It’s okay to have depression. It’s okay to feel sad and happy. That’s the normal human experience and life has its ups and downs. You reaffirmed the decision I made about getting off SSRIs and that I didn’t need SSRIs to navigate my emotional traumas anymore. I was able to confront a situation that’s been drawn out for over a year and drew hard boundaries and told someone how I deeply feel. Thank you.

    Important dialogue on critical topics.
These are the topics that have long been ignored or brushed aside. We desperately need to have an open dialogue and Dr. McFillin has created that opportunity. Thank you for taking the time to present the research that has been glossed over or dismissed that is having an enormous impact on our culture.

    Necessary conversations
It’s refreshing to hear a professional be critical of his own industry. The fields of psychiatry and psychology are ripe for a review of effectiveness. We need to challenge these professionals to stop overstepping their areas of expertise. Dr. McFillan is helping to lead that charge.

    Listen BEFORE medicating
Anyone who is considering taking a psych drug should give this a listen before doing so. Many drugs don’t have the science behind them that we all think — and some can do great harm. But, really, anyone interested in living a good life will benefit from this podcast.

    Very informative
I found you (Roger McFillin) through Allie Beth Stuckey and really enjoyed the convos with Sarah Fay and Dr. Gaty. Not all episodes interest me but the ones that do are top notch! This and other providential circumstances has helped solidify me in realizing my oldest daughter who is high maintenance, high strung and just super difficult does not need to be(and should not be) diagnosed with ANYTHING! She is very bright and has so much potential and I believe you’ve helped save her from me considering putting her on medication which might have kept her from whatever calling God has for her later. (Also homeschooling vs “conventional” schooling, which I’ve always planned for, will help facilitate that). Thank you for being radically genuine 🥰

So Refreshing To Hear Such Important Discussions
As A Naturopath and Clinical Nutritionist I have helped many people avoid psych meds or handle an underlying condition so they could titrate off meds with the prescribing physician. Drugging the human condition is not the answer and is not real help. This podcast dares to ask the right questions that we all should be asking of our professionals. How did we turn into a bunch of pill-poppers instead of tackling the root cause of our health and mental health issues? We can be better, as people, as parents, as a society, and as a Nation. We need courageous doctors like these to speak out and break the cycle of lock-step complicity our health agencies and big money interests demand.

    Thank you!!
Thanks so much for exposing the DSM and teaching me about the dangers of psychotropic drugs - I had absolutely no idea until I started listening to your podcast a few months ago. You’ve armed me with the knowledge I needed to do further research and work with my 17yo daughter’s providers to successfully wean her off her meds. I feel like I have my daughter back now, and not the shell she’s been for the last three years while on these drugs. Your work is so important - please continue the fight!
  • Mental health matterss
Anti-research, anti-medication, “pharmaceutical industry is the devil”
Horribly biased hosts on here. They butcher the names of antidepressants yet are giving such black and white advice against their use. They have no experience prescribing these (and clearly upset because they can’t) yet they are going through studies as if they are experts. They are not. And they are not medical doctors. They are essentially lay people who have an incentive to get people against medications. They are horribly dangerous to the mental health of the people and quite honestly should be sued and taken off any podcast due to the danger they pose. Zero professional ethics in display here.

    Keep Truth Telling!
Bravo Dr McFillin for having the courage to speak truth in a time of great censorship and extreme Pharma corruption. As a licensed professional with over 20 years experience in the field, i cant tell you how refreshing it is to have this podcast and your platform to hopefully and finally educate any remaining clinicians with a conscience and ethics. The drugging of children must end, but also for adults too! 😅
