The Collier Landry Show

286

I was 11 years old when I witnessed my father murder my mother, so I made sure he went to prison for it. With my world turned upside down, I decided my trauma would not be what defined me, and so began my journey to pick up the pieces of my life and move on.In each episode, I examine human nature's intricate mysteries and highlight the healing process that comes along with it. From sensationalized media headlines to tales of tragedy and triumph—the good, the bad, and the unexplainable.Along the way, I’ll speak with fellow advocates, academics, survivors, and storytellers to uncover captivating stories that empower people to overcome adversity and find purpose. Let's inspire, heal, and make a difference—one story at a time.Got Fan Mail? Gifts for Marisol?3019 Ocean Park Blvd. #950Santa Monica, CA 90405Links: https://www.collierlandry.com/links

    Collier Landry Is Great.
What a guy. If you don’t know his backstory, it’s brutal. His father did away with his mother when Colloer was a child. Collier knew his dad did it. From school, he called a police detective and was able to get his father implicated for what he did to Collier’s mom. That’s the long story made short. The rest is sp full of so much more, although not as terrible, but some of it was pretty bad… Anyway. Collier grew up and had careers such as cinematography, and then he started these podcasts. I’ve been following him for a long term. His life story and what he evolved into, plus he is just born bright and handsome too, makes for some really great shows. He is so amazingly authentic, self-astute, and that’s a big part of what makes so many of his shows quite memorable, and a really great experience.

    Unique perspective and experience
Great interviews, well thought out questions and I always learn new things. Collier is a very intelligent, thoughtful, relatable, and has been through A LOT of stuff! Always leaves me with lots to think about through the days. Exceptionally good at the struggles of being a human being!

    The Collier Landry Show
While Collier has a riveting life story, which shares with the world in “A Murder in Mansfield” his take on other events is always just as interesting. His empathy makes him like no other. However, if your vocabulary is not well versed make sure to bring a dictionary while you listen, because he does not speak in prose.

Great show. Compassionate, professional and on point.
I love this guy! I saw his Soft White Underbelly episode and he blew me away. I don’t understand all these people who try and tear him down. He is a compassionate, thoughtful and intelligent human. The world is a better place with people like him in it. FIVE STARS!

The best of the best !
Collier is so genuine ! His show is so much not like any other podcast . He is so kind , loving and such a beautiful human to be able to come thru what he has come thru and be the person he is today ! His funny humor and his beautiful fun side of this podcast is just refreshing ! There is no fighting with the live feeds or people being rude or ugly . His moderators are top notch , his mind is just crazy smart and he knows what he is talking about when he discusses a topic . Albeit, sometime with a sense of humor. We need more LOVE in our lives like Collier Beams each time he is on our Podcast! He rises above and it shows !!! Keep on Collier , you’re a breath of fresh air !!!!!

    Aptly named show
The title tells you everything you need to know. This show is ALL about Collier. I used to be an avid listener but after hearing him repeat his own story to about the 20th guest and fumble to ask them about their stories while constantly bringing whatever they said back to his own story no matter how tenuously it was connected, I had to bail. It really comes across like zero questions were prepared and he’s just waiting for them to stop speaking to talk about himself again.

Great potential that just isn’t met
I have such mixed feelings about this show. On the one hand, Collier’s story is compelling and the ability to see long term how crime trauma affects him is unique. On the other hand, after listening to dozens of shows, it’s apparent that Collier either has some of the same narcissistic traits that his father had or has not had enough therapy to actually heal much from his trauma. Anytime there is a guest on, he does not interview them, he tells them his story (and the same anecdotes the listeners have heard over and over again- in detail) and rarely asks them any questions that move the narrative or educate himself or the listeners. I have great empathy for Collier but many (most?) of these shows are insufferable and I end up bailing as soon as the repetitive tire retreading begins.
  • California Girl 20
    Self absorbed host
I only listened to one episode and the host most have mentioned his family case at least 15 times. While I was first intrigued and thought it would add another dimension to the episode, I soon found it added nothing except to talk about himself. Maybe this was an exception, but I'll never find out because it was so off putting

    Correction please
I enjoy the show however, you incorrectly claimed that President Trump was among others such as Bill Clinton to have visited Epstein island on the list being released. President Trump was actually NOT found to be on the Epstein client list. In the name of good journalism, please offer a correction and retraction.

    Oof
I was so excited to listen and binged a dozen or so episodes and they were great - UNTIL the Ferguson episode. It’s sad that the host refuses to admit that there are police forces that aren’t JUST underfunded….They ARE legitimately racist. To listen to him continue to be a police apologist and ignore what his guest is saying about how the Ferguson force ignored what the family was saying about their deceased son….then move on and use the term “woke” disparagingly….hugely disappointing. That’s where I stopped and won’t listen any further. He definitely has an agenda - which is ironic since he accused others of having their own agendas - that got in the way of actively listening to his own guest.

    A real service
This podcast is always informative, often entertaining, but mostly it’s worth listening to for all the different perspectives offered. There’s always a gem that reveals itself. Well done!

    Thank you
Just listened to your Letecia Stauch update. Our community is dealing with an eerily similar case where a woman killed her boyfriend’s 6 year old daughter and left her in a 10 gallon bucket in her mother’s front yard 2 weeks ago. Heartbreaking. I think she’s going to claim something similar!

I’m really enjoying this show. Collier is honest and insightful, the content is great.

    Almost perfect
I enjoy hearing Collier’s thoughts and story, but when present cases and other subjects are discussed, Brenda tends to state information that is not always accurate. I would really appreciate fact checking and solid resources. Other than that, great job!

    Insightful
I found this podcast to be authentic and insightful, just like the host, Collier! He calls himself a professional optimist and he is right. Love it!

    Brilliantly Compassionate
What this man has gone through as a child and it’s HUGE; he has such compassion for other’s. He must have his mother’s influence encrypted in his soul. She did a great job raising him to point until she died. It’s sad that he’ll always be stuck in that time frame forever. His father is the biggest piece of rubbish!! Collier is a Bright man and is successful in life! He made the best out of a HORRIFIC situation!

    Big T Small T
Thank you to Collier for speaking so honestly, and with humor. I heard Gabor Mate speak of small trauma and big trauma. The small ones add up. This is a big one we can all learn from, IF we choose to. I found this podcast through Collier’s interview on Hidden True Crime, and resonate deeply with ethical true crime reporting. I hope more people come to understand what that means and become more discerning with what they subscribe to, and support. When the repotting comes from a person directly impacted, there is a greater possibility the outcome will be cleaner. The direction, that of healing and educating the listener without it being a lecture☮️

    Forensic files
Just started listening and it captivated my interest on the first one. Always trying to find new podcasts to listen to. Happened on this by chance as I was watching forensics files and since the episode mentioned my home state it piqued my interest. When it was done I googled the son because I wanted to see what happened to the little boy with the pretty blue eyes and that little boy has a podcast. And turn out to be a good one

    One of the absolute best!
I love this podcast so much! Collier Landry is such an amazing, articulate, thoughtful man. And despite what he experienced he shares his story with honesty and even a sense of humor at times. It’s really quite remarkable. His mother would be sooooo proud of him both professionally and personally. And he seems like a very cool guy!!

    All around excellence
From Collier’s engagement with his audience and his guests to the way in which he speaks to the guest’s with such compassion and care (even the way he shows compassion and care when he reads comments or letters or questions from his audience is refreshing and heart warming and shows how wonderful of a human being Collier is) to the interesting subject matter of each episode of MPM , the show is a top notch podcast that is all around throughly entertaining, insightful, and educational.

Please turn down the background music!
I love your podcast. I want to hear the words. The music brings a bit of anxiousness though. I can’t hear the speaker. When the music stops between tracks, it’s PERFECT!

I love your positive attitude and perseverance even with the tragedy you suffered losing your mom. Thank you for sharing your story.

    Fascinating, courageous and encouraging
I’m new to the podcast and arrived via TikTok. The topic, Collier’s delivery, the story and tragedy are all what makes the podcast so good. I am so taken by all of it, and I’ll be using this case in upcoming courses I teach at a D1 university this fall. I highly recommend it not only for learning about the events of the case and the sad end result, but also the courage of a young boy and a detective that didn’t give up. It is a study of humanity on every level. People who have lost a loved one to murder can look to Collier and see that it is possible to survive and flourish.

    Just finished watching MIM…
I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through. I’ve endured a narcissistic mother, abusive siblings and was the scapegoat daughter on the bottom. If we weren’t at eachother’s throats, that woman was not happy. She helped my narcopath husband destroy me down to the very dirt I stood on. She enjoyed it. She is dead now, and she passed without us ever speaking. My daughter nor I wanted anything to do with such a horrid person, I have to give you credit Collier for ever wanting to communicate with that man. I see so much of him in my mother and ex-husband, making it easy to believe them. These people are sick degenerates that destroy lives and its only realized after the destruction. You have done well for yourself, at 56 I am just now picking up the pieces for the last time. We’ve moved and there’s no way he’ll ever be in our lives again. God bless you, and keep your head up.

    Courage and Resilience
We all desperately need God-given courage and resilience to make it through life and all the unexpected challenges we all face, and Collier’s story of extreme courage and resilience began for him as a young child. He made a comment in his pod cast regarding his worry as a child being biologically tied to his father, but I would estimate his mom’s genes shine over and blot out on any darkness lurking from his dad. Aiding him in telling his very admirable story of courage and resilience is his great speaking voice and his co host who makes it a conversation and not a script.

    Love this podcast
I found you on TikTok and was so intrigued by your story. I just found your podcast today and I am hooked. Incredible voice too by the way!

    Appreciate your vulnerability and humor!
It’s amazing to me how level headed and “normal” you are after all you’ve been through. You have definitely come out on top. I love the way you honor your mom and speak so highly of the parents that raised you after the tragedy. Your mom sounds like a remarkable woman! I’m sure you are a lot like her, because you’re nothing like your bio father.
