Mdee63It’s never discussed🫤Sexual abuse is never discussed. I feel a lot of autistic women are molested as children and as young ladies we also suffer from date rape, I went through both. I feel this subject needs to be brought up, so we can stop feeling ashamed. Thank you😶

5400ggghhhhVery best autism source I’ve found! After listening to a hundred hours of her podcasts, I am grateful beyond words for the work of The Autistic Woman. She is clearly a brilliant mind, sifting through science, culture and her own experience to give us important facts and perspectives to consider. But just as valuable, her manner and approach lets me know she appreciates and respects each of us as co-travelers on the long road to understanding ourselves. Despite the breadth of the content, she is consistently humble, reflective, thoughtful and respectful of the listener. Wow is that refreshing!!

my67beetlemedication episode topicgreatly satisfies asd need for information with clarity and focus . thank you . I would like to suggest a difficult subject for a future episode dealing with medications both efficacy and dosage for adults and finding knowledeable practitioners . related to most common comorbid conditions such as anxiety depression sleep . Temple Grandin has noted necessarily lower dosages and her SSRI regimen but informed discussion is lacking .

dr anseExcellent PodcastThis is a great podcast. Excellent overview and personal experience. I like the positive approach to autism. My son was diagnosed with autism two years ago and this is very helpful. I can also identify several things in myself that align with autism.

Davis playerThe best podcast about late diagnosed women! This is my absolute favorite podcast for late diagnosed women. I find myself nosing and agreeing with about 98% of what is talked about. It’s actually helped me figure out more about myself in preparation of my diagnosis appointment in a few months. Thank you SO much for all of your hard work. I really feel seen!!

Chevron2399NSD FriendsThank you for your episode on NSD, a parody (?), you actually described my college bestie. I remember telling my mom many times as I built my own business that we had nothing in common and we shouldn’t be friends. But here we are 36 years later and let me tell you, me an AuHD (autistic adhd)

dusty oldbonesThank you for making this podcastI’m a woman in my 30s who just found out I’m autistic. This podcast really does help me understand myself, internally and from an external perspective too. It helps me find more compassion for myself after feeling so “wrong” for my whole life. HIGHLY recommended for adult autistics! Also really love the short format: tons of info packed into a very digestible segment. A good show to send to friends & family to give them a peek into the autistic perspective. To the host: your voice is so comforting to me, it feels like I’m having a therapy session with a wiser, older friend. Thank you so much <3

JCBlackburnLove her!Thank you for doing this podcast giving non-autistics a view inside the autistic brain. My 22 year old son is going through hard times and I am desperate to learn how to help him. I can’t wait to listen to more!

alij🌊Absolutely Brilliant !!I just found this podcast, but I have inhaled it! She’s brilliant and has a wonderful way of conveying the sometimes difficult to understand or describe nuances of spectrum/sensory life & tendencies. The Autistic Woman has encouraged me by sharing her own struggles & differences in the way her brain works as well as well-researched struggles & differences of others with ASD. She explains the science, the differences between ASD brain function & “normal” brain function, then reason behind the the differences or root of the nuances. It’s calmed my soul and encouraged my spirit to hear her story, her research & she has helped me understand my loved ones in a new light, allowing me to understand & navigate our relationships more effectively ♥️♥️♥️ Episodes are short sweet & to the point! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love you Autistic Woman♥️♥️♥️

Dd C 13Mouth sounds!I want to listen to this podcast, but the constant lip smacking and other horribly distracting mouth sounds make it impossible. Please, just drink some water.

Retired AZRNHelpful and RelatableI am enjoying this podcast. The Autistic Woman’s stories about her experiences sound like my own. I appreciate the information she provides about autism and its characteristics. This is my go-to podcast on autistic spectrum disorder!
-
SFranceBatemanExcellent, relatable podcast!I have so much appreciated this podcast, and recently sent it to several close people in my life to help explain some of the things I experience as an autistic person. It has been a great catalyst for better communication! Thank you so much for sharing how your mind works, it has been very nice to be able to think how my mind works in comparison and better learn and understand that.
-
Jabang82Clear and preciseI love that “An Autistic Woman” gets right to the point. She isn’t fluffing it. I can bust out episodes with little time. I also love that each episode is titled appropriately, so they are easy to find and navigate.

KimG2413Very insightfulThis podcast is helping me to understand my son who is on the autism spectrum. He is verbal but doesn’t explain his thoughts and feelings. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
-
fjishxThank you!Well spoken. Soothing voice. Relatable across generation and gender. We are a scattered minority and we need to amplify more voices like this to drown out the medieval nonsense so many "educated people" still believe. The discrimination is real and people like you give us strength.

kcinbloomTotally meThank you! I was considering ADHD at the request of my daughter, I’m certain that’s her deal. Mine is this. I have a great therapist who helps me with this
-
hetaira45Such a GiftI experience more grace and understanding and learn more about coping skills from this podcast than I did in therapy. The Ruminations episode is one I will turn to again when I get stuck in spirals of thought. I'm grateful for the empathy and her willingness to share private thoughts and feelings with us.
-
MirelacwI feel understoodThank you for making this podcast. I’ve so far listened to the domestic violence ones. I’m hoping you will make some to help autistic people figure out how to define our boundaries, what is okay to have as boundaries (especially in relation to romantic relationships), how to know when enough is enough or what a scale of good/bad should look like? How much bad compared to how much good? Your voice, logic and clear explanations and examples are comforting and soothing me through a very confusing and sad situation right now. Thank you very much.
-
LoolachooAwesomeJust listened to the Ruminations episode and loved it. So much insight!

HeadKnitsEntertaining and HelpfulThank you for this wonderful podcast. It is putting so much into perspective for me.
-
HridiLee8Fabulous!Shines a light on an experience that is more common than previously known - an autistic woman does a fabulous job explaining and sharing her thought process, feelings and interior world

ℤ𝕫Good ExplanationI’ve been thinking that I may have Aspergers for some time, and this podcast has been very helpful providing ‘real world’ examples of usually indecipherable medical jargon. I particularly appreciate the part about doctors needing to ask the right questions, the the need for specificity. Thank you for making me feel seen!

SonomelI can relateHi, I’m a 59 year-old female with undiagnosed Asperger syndrome. You are the first person that I really relate to being that you’re a woman and a bit older. It’s nice to know I’m not alone.
