The host spends way too much time talking and interrupting guests.

I’ve listened to many of Jason’s podcasts, as well as others. I like Jason’s approach. His questions are intuitive and bring out the best from his guests. WOT is my first stop when looking for a podcast while I’m tying flies.

I listen to a few fly fishing podcasts that teach me about various aspects of the sport. They’re all valuable learning resources, but Wade Out There, in many ways, feels most like the one that is made for me. Jason asks great questions of his guests with humility and curiosity that help me learn the things I need to get over the hump of moving from beginner who occasionally has some luck to a more experienced and knowledgeable fly fisher that can rely on intention while staying open to new information on the water.

This is an entertaining, informative, and well-produced podcast about fly-fishing. It has joined my regular rotation of fishing podcasts that includes the Orvis podcast, the Troutbitten podcast, and the Southeastern Fly-Fishing podcast. As someone who has been an avid musician and fly angler since 8th grade, the recent episode with Chris Coole was especially enjoyable. Keep up the good work. Kerry

I have enjoyed the podcasts, and appreciate Jason’s approach to having fly fishers tell their story re. getting in to fly fishing.

I stumbled onto the Wade Out There podcast as the host was interviewed on another podcast. Because of his flying background, I started following Jason. He does interviews, but from a perspective as an artist, family man, and non-professional. Very enjoyable and just a little bit different from other fly fishing podcasts.

Just finished the interview with George Daniels. Having spent a day on the water watching George take the time to instruct young anglers it is clear he Gets It. These young entries to the water are the future of the stewardship of the resource. Just a few hours without the internet spent on a stream can change the way we think about our water and the abundance it holds. Thanks for keeping up the hard work putting a podcast out on a regular basis. Quality listening material with thoughtful questions in a long form format allows for a deep dive into subjects that have so much value to us all

This show is so easy to listen to! He finds the balance between technique and experience so the listener can just as easily learn a new skill as get lost in the imagery. So glad I came across this from Dads on the Fly.

Jason produces a top notch podcast! He invites knowledgeable guests whose passion for the sport motivate everyone to get out on the water. I really appreciate Jason’s humility and approach to fly fishing dispelling the myths that our sport is too difficult or too elitist for the average person. As a fellow veteran I respect that Jason continues to serve others by providing knowledge and techniques to further personal growth in fly fishing!

Trevor Smith is my favorite of the Troutbitten gang. He’s cerebral and incredibly articulate. Getting to hear just him break down his tactics and discuss his philosophy with regard to flyfishing and life in general was a treat. If you enjoy thoughtful discussion of some of the finer points of fly fishing for trout in Pennsylvania give this episode a listen. Keep up the good work Jason!

Host, Jason, brings in guests from all areas of fly fishing to discuss their fly fishing journeys and a few tips and tactics along the way. This podcast is super approachable for fisherman from beginners to seasoned anglers. Jason keeps the conversation interesting by asking great questions and adding his own insights.

The host, Jason interviews all kinds of interesting guests. Many that have been able to make a career out of flyfishing. (Something that I’m sure most of us envy). Many flyfishing podcasts make the sport seem like it’s only for the elite. Jason stays grounded, which helps novice like me get excited to spend more time on the river! Just a warning, once you listen you’ll be hooked!

I love this podcast! Always great! The episode with chad miller really resonated with me as I was also from central Indiana, fished and floated the tippecanoe, cataract falls, and sugar creek multiple times. I also moved to Arkansas like he was thinking about and now fish the little red river, white river and the local smallmouth and carp spots. Would love to go on a trip with chad some day!

I spend a lot of time going to and from work, and have a lot of downtime at work as well, so podcasts are a must for me. I like the wide range of guests that Jason brings on and the audio quality and content are absolutely top notch. It’s gotten me back into tying flies and getting back out on the river fishing with my fly rod that I had shelved for almost a decade. I look forward to what the podcast has in store in the future!

Through the art of simple and honest conversation, Jason’s way of gaining insight from area experts on fly fishing is without par. In a time when much of the fly fishing industry still reeks of elitism, Jason has found a path through the noise to an incredibly enlightening podcast! I absolutely enjoy everything about Jason’s podcasts! He has been fly fishing since he was a boy and offers amazing techniques as a literal pro. Yet, he is one of the most humble anglers i’ve seen. He’s always open to new ideas and truly values outside techniques. Not only do I learn how to fish better listening to him, I get to embrace the true engrained spirit of being a fly fishermen. Jason truly ATTACKs his passion!

Wadeoutthere is a great podcast. Jason has assembled a rich and varied portrait of many different anglers. In addition to the fascinating stories and places, what really sets this podcast apart from other fly fishing podcasts is the host, Jason. He’s a genuine, kind, supportive, and welcoming interviewer. Happy to recommend a podcast that espouses the belief that fly fishing is special but not elite.

The recent kid from CO Was a tough listen. Flyfishing doesn’t always have to be humbling, poetic, inspirational, emotional and other hipster perspectives. Stay in CO if all you do is fish for the gram’.

Jason does an amazing job with this podcast. Much different than the many others that are out there. Plus, he brings on guests that I have been wanting to hear from or covers areas I have been wanting to fish for quite some time!
