ArahbeeThis one makes birding accessible and appealingThis is my new favorite podcast! I’m not a very experienced birder but I have been on a few trips and I appreciate the love, if not mania. Samantha does such a good job with sparking enthusiasm and being so down to earth. It’s easy to support a BIPOC birder when the content is so good! Keep it up. There’s no other birding podcast I enjoy this much.

Snap-Thank youEpisode 22 was my first. Wow. So many good things in the episode. I’ll be diving into all of them. Great bird stories, and then they drilled down. Terrific. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and stories.

Ellie sswwaannFreshSam and her guests share so much knowledge and experience. This podcast strives for a more decolonized relationship with birding and the outdoors. Only a couple of episodes in and I already feel my own relationship with birding shifting for the better. So excited about this podcast!!

Social Welfare WarriorUnapologetically real!Sam tells it like it is! BIPOC can relate, and others can learn a lot about the experiences of BIPOC and how they can be more inclusive. I’m enjoying learning about birding and I’ve become much more mindful of the wildlife around me.

MemerrrrTHIS is the future of birdingAs a white girl, I’m not even going to pretend to understand the unjust atrocities that Sam and BIPOC experience in the great outdoors. But as ally and advocate for inclusivity, I can say without a doubt that Sam’s voice needs to be amplified. Her honest, heartfelt insights on the competitive nature of birding, one-up-manship, and aggressive know-it-all old white dudes are ~SPOT ON~ and mirror the same thoughts I had when I started birding 2-3 years ago as a 20-something. Like, hello? That time is OVER. Passion and enthusiasm for nature cannot be (pardon the pun) pigeonholed. I can’t wait to join Sam on her birding adventures!

ya girl AshHonest, Inspiring & Unapologetic.Always be Birdin’ captures & voices the feelings many BIPOC endure when it comes to how we as BIPOC connect with nature in this society. It addresses the real issues BIPOC face when it comes to being in nature & how we are shamed, or made to feel unwelcome with a need to conform to fit in- ultimately not being our true selves in spaces we should be able to. This podcast opens a door for those who’s curiosities were once squashed & allows hope for new discoveries. Look out birding world because as our beautiful host said “WE OUT HERE”- the time to end the stereo types that birding & nature are not for BIPOC is now 🦅 keep the binos out & catch me outside finding some birds!
