For the most part this podcast and new polity are concerned about being Christian through and through. They express this particularly by exposing the aspects of contemporary thinking and ethics that have no basis in Christianity but in Liberalism. The podcast endeavors to dissect liberalism in order to show our blind spot for it as well as offer the classical perspective liberalism has replaced. They focus, it seems, mostly on the political and economical order. Great listen.

Umm, you know, like, err, kind of like, right, ummm, errr, like, kind of… If you enjoy listening to conversational fillers you will enjoy like, this.

The ‘evils’ put forward as those elements which make cities bad and ugly are the same elements which allow philosophers and the rest of us the freedom to even imagine implementing less utilitarian policies and systems in our cities. Well thought out and sincere discussion all the same and I acknowledge my own cynical pragmatism plays into my interpretations of the podcast. Worth listening to.

Though my armchair is the drivers seat of my pickup truck. I appreciate the musings of Jacob and Mark and their guests, at times I feel like I’m receiving my internal philosophy externally, other times it feels like a black-pill suppository. Either way, I’m encouraged to hear Catholic intellectuals muse about proper forms of politics and the ‘localism’ of our faith in practice. If you listen you will feel a little like David going up against Goliath, it will encourage you, and hopefully provoke you to live more purposefully poor. Take pleasure in your poverty, it has encouraged me to not feel so terribly miserable about my meager means. Cheers, great podcast. I’d order your magazines if I had the money. This is interesting but painful to listen to. The “uhh uh uhhh uh”s and “like, I mean, like” verbiage makes me stop listening halfway, especially the most recent episode about leaving the alt right.

I Love it! It challenges me. It makes sense. Its orthodox. They have truly thought it through. Highly recommend to any Catholic that wants to live lives set apart for the Gospel. It’s also quite entertaining and funny. Beware! I am in the process of changing all my investments, deleting my Amazon prime, and changing the places I shop. If you listen to this, you will no longer be ignorant. ✌️

As a graduate in Philosophy and theology I’ve never heard a more interesting take on political philosophy... you guys are blessed by God with intellectual brilliance.. it’s as if I’m hearing St. Thomas giving his take on current issues

This group provides a great perspective on Christian life that I haven’t heard before. I really like what they’re putting forth, it has definitely moved my heart regarding my life and career.

This podcast was recommended by a wise and intelligent friend, so maybe my expectations were too high. But I’m disappointed by the philosophical sloppiness and bad faith assumptions that underpin many of the conversations. The general premise seems to be that those who disagree with the hosts’ views must be stupid, covertly malicious, or both. As a practicing Catholic, I have to recommend seeking loftier, good-faith discussions elsewhere.

So grateful for these voices. It definitely pushes on my level of understanding and previous biases, but in a good way. It's my new favorite binge podcast with a ton of depth that makes you think so it's not just for consumption, but formation. Highly recommend at least listening to one of the shows (not on double speed) 😅 and I guarantee when you do, you’ll be hooked.

Very engaging and at times very funny. These guys dare to take a step back and question the whole system of modern political conceptions and root their thinking in the perennial metaphysics of Aquinas. These conversations don’t rely only on Aquinas, but on the entire realist tradition. It’s refreshing to find people who don’t buy into the restricting dichotomies of modern day classical liberalism! Will be listening to this show faithfully.

The content is excellent. Please give these guys a listen (maybe even a couple times over) and work on making TRUE Catholic teaching happen wherever you live. But seriously, let’s change the world.

Your description of Protestants and “works” in the Almsgiving ep is actually only a description of Calvinist principles (total depravity, etc.) and blatantly disregards Wesleyan-Arminians who believe in prevenient grace. Might help to have an actual Prot on the show instead stereotyping.

The New Polity Podcast features engaging hosts and content with topics about the double sins of capitalism and socialism and their roots of liberalism. The three part series on liberalism, socialism, and fascism is a great place to start to understand the engaging thought and conversation style of the podcast. The recent Good Money series has been my favorite. I really really want PRACTICALS, to just sit down with Jacob over a pint and ask about things like ‘retirement’, how to find places in your community to exercise benevolence, and more. I hope to hear more practicals as the series continues, and am hopeful that they will! Great work New Polity!

This is a great introduction for good Catholics who are starting to have some questions about capitalism but have some obvious doctrinal issue with socialism. I’d love to hear more about the practicalities of what you guys are suggesting. What do I do for “retirement”? Is it bad if I rent out my first house after we have more kids and move? Is owning a house bad because I have to have debt? If so, what do I do, rent and live under another mans power? Why is health insurance bad? Most of us still have to live with our current capitalist system, and to move outside of it seems pretty hard to pull off. Thanks!

It is so great to hear from fellow Catholics that are ditching the libertarian label. It does ultimately conflict with the truth of Catholic social teaching. Lord bless this new think tank.
