    Love the Podcast!
I love this podcast so much. Getting prepared for nursing school but I was a flight paramedic for many years. Only thing to note in the Sepsis Case Study please make it very clear that his opinion that the cultures aren’t very important and that the HR in the 200s was stable is not ok. New impressionable students will be listening closely and building their clinical opinions. Please add a disclaimer that the HR is of concern as the patient is quickly decompensating. Also that cultures is critical especially with the MDRO’s are climbing quickly. Keep up the amazing work, truly the best podcast.

Great episodes - clear and to the point
Thank you for the episodes on different disease processes. I wish I could study with you one-on-one like Andy. I am in nursing school now and I love the clear and concise explanations, and then the follow-up case study episode for each with Andy. Your voice and audio is clear, and also your chemistry with Andy makes it so enjoyable to listen to. It’s perfect! Only improvement I can suggest is just more of the same - disease overviews with supplemental case studies!

    No talking over your head
I’ve only listened to the Head to Toe assessment but loved that she took the time to explain the simple things, briefly. She didn’t assume I knew what accommodation is for example.

Reasons to go to nursing school
Correction needed. You said that once you have a nursing license, you can work in any state. That’s not true. While many states do have the compact license rule, not all do. As a podcaster, you should research topics before stating something as fact.
  • Always Striving to Be Better
For aspiring or new nursing students
I have found this podcast so helpful as I’m debating going to nursing school as an adult with an already established career and bachelors in psychology. I’ve really appreciated all the easily digestible information, tips and tricks. Keep the episodes coming!! I’ve literally devoured your current episodes and need more!

Thank you for the Anki rec
Thanks for your podcast. Really liking the Anki flash card app. Quizlet wasn’t working for me for flashcards. I like that Anki repeats cards that I flag and the shuffled daily sets are great to do when I have five minutes in the day. Your deep dives into topics are great. Thanks!

    Children too young for school
Props to Melanie for the podcast on, are you too old for nursing school? I am a single mom with young children in her upper 40s! Never wanted to be in this position, but that’s how life is. Dreamed of going back to school and have made multiple unsuccessful attempts. I did get a bachelors degree in a field that just didn’t fit right out of college. This podcast helped put things in perspective.

The best content for newly accepted students
I’ve been on the hunt for this exact podcast it feels like it was made for me. I got accepted into a competitive program last week + have been frantically planning out every detail of preparation even though I still have two months before my program starts. This podcast has every piece of advice I could want all in one place with a super soothing voice too!

    Excellent content into short episodes
I have relistened to these episodes many times. I am preparing for an ADN program and I am following Melanie’s systems . I love how they’re quick episodes jammed with information that I can use with the student perspective. This brave soul actually started a podcast IN nursing school . That’s intense , thank you Melanie .

Watch your words as a nurse
I was excited to find this podcast since I will be starting nursing school soon. However I was surprised and offended by the language used in the third episode of season one when the podcaster is explaining keloid scars. She keeps referring to them as “ugly” and then mentions they are most common on dark skin. Whoever is writing for this podcasts needs to consider how their words impact people who are listening.
