    Loved the Executive Functioning Ep.
Definitely something I deal with! I’m 32 & have always dealt with this & im just realizing “if I make a system for everything, it’ll work” but it takes so much time & the way you made it so simple was amazing. Thank you! More of that please 🙏🏻

    Wonderful Mental Health Resource
I am new to the therapy-sphere and was looking for free resources while I learned what kind of therapy might suit my needs related to anxiety. Emma’s straight forward, no-nonsense, kind and empathetic approach to therapy techniques has been life changing. Learning about negativity bias, avoidance and CBT (to name a few!) has made a huge difference in my mental health. I no longer feel alone in my experiences and I’m no longer scared of these sometimes overwhelming feelings. Quite literally, Emma has taught me how to get better at feeling and I’m so grateful. Also grateful that a lot of the material is free, but there’s an option to purchase courses if I want to go more in depth on any subject. Keep on keeping on, Emma, and thank you so very much! ~ L from Ohio

I wish I could be more articulate, but I don’t have language yet. I cannot believe how long it took me to catch that this practitioner was using their role as a therapist, and contact with people seeking therapy content, to promote their religious beliefs. The proselytizing is on every episode page, linking to LDS content about believing in Christ, etc. I should have heeded the red flag that they are choosing to continue promoting BetterHelp after they were exposed. If someone wants to use the privilege of this role to influence others with regions content, that should be overt, clear and not buried. It’s incredible that more people aren’t alarmed by this.

    Great enhancement for therapeutic education
I am so thrilled that I stumbled across Emma’s podcast! I am a mental health therapist and I find these podcasts an amazing supplement, not only to enhance my client’s work outside of the office, but give me new ways to discuss difficult topics in new and easily understood way. She also helps me with my own stuff😉 Thank you so much! Debbie

    Better than therapy for me
A friend recommended these YouTube videos, and as soon as I watched one, I binged on the others and found the podcast. I've tried therapy for my anxiety, and just haven't found anyone that was practically able to help me. This therapist is practical and so good at explaining things.

    Worst I ever heard
Not mentioning this is common side effects of anxiety disorders. This is why doctors should only be on podcasts about mental health.

Love the content but…..ICK to BetterHelp!
As a seasoned mental health therapist, I find the continent to be spot on, and very easy to digest. However, I was dismayed and disheartened when I heard an ad with BetterHelp as the sponsor. With everything that has come to light about their business practices (ie- selling client data), and how they treat and pay their therapists, I really hope that the show host and team will reconsider their partnership with betterhelp.

    Love this podcast!
Emma does a fantastic job. I’m a very social person, but I’ve always struggled with overthinking and social anxiety. I self-coped all the way through high school, until the first time I listened to this podcast Emma was spot on. She perfectly described things I didn’t notice I already do to help myself, and explained more of what I can do to live in the moment and enjoy this one life I have. Thank you, this is the perfect Therapy in a Nutshell!

Emma is a Teacher of Crucial Life and Mental Skills.
What I've noticed is that Emma is direct & to the point, titles her episodes accurately, gives several real life examples of mental health strategies per episode, and maybe most importantly, she has a calm and comforting style of communication. You can almost see her smile as you listen. I only wish I would've come across her podcast in 2019, so that I could have the tools I needed to process and overcome anxiety. Thank you, Emma. At times, I wish you were my go-to personal Therapist, but this podcast will have to do. God bless your adventure as you help others learn how their minds and bodies were created to work in harmony for growth, health and community.

    Value packed episodes!
Emma is down to earth and provides relatable examples. I liked the episode about self-limiting beliefs and that even positive labels we put on ourselves may be harmful. Especially if we rely on it for self-confidence. Thank you for your insights!

How can I ever thank you!!!!
I’m a psychologist and I have been begging everyone I know for a resource like this for 10 years, TRUE STORY!! First, I’ve searched high and low for a FREE CREDIBLE AUDIO resource to improve my own clinical skills and knowledge. These videos are 1) academically and empirically sound, 2) truly effective life skills when applied, and 3) so delightfully accessible and comprehensible to my brain (such as the WONDERFUL real life examples she gives for each clinical concept). Second, I became severely addicted and am now 4 years clean. I’ve desperately wanted something to accelerate the brutal learning curve that follows 15 years of substance abuse and THIS IS IT. Just the two videos on motivation and avoidance have changed my life…just imagine what the hours and hours of other videos have done for me. My heart is bursting with gratitude. Lastly, I consider her to be a true mentor. Her authenticity, spirituality, kindness, love for nature, family mindedness, professionalism, creativity, contribution to the mental health field, and hardworking ethics are immeasurable gifts. I wake up and go to bed to her videos and feel like I’m spending time with a wise, joyous, and inspiring life couch. If I can EVER volunteer in ANY WAY to contribute to her mission, I would be completely honored and 100% willing. Just say the word. 🙏My most sincere thank you🙏

    Emma is amazing
I follow her on YouTube and have gotten so much from her videos and this podcast. She articulates issues in a way that provides peace and comfort. Sometimes when I’m feeling anxious just listening to hear speak helps me calm down and realize it’s the anxiety driving my intrusive thoughts and overcoming it is possible. That’s worth than 5 stars in my mind...literally!

    Really?
Using “I’m on my period, I must be a terrible person” as an example of a cognitive distortion is unbelievable. How is this show even on Apple podcasts? You should be ashamed of yourself for perpetuating misogyny.

Working with anxiety, grief and trauma
Emma’s no nonsense approach helped me recognize the patterns of anxiety and how my body responds. What was most helpful was her simple suggestions for re-wiring unconscious speak habitual patterns of making things worse. Anyone feeling hunted or haunted by intense emotions can benefit from her work. I would give her 100 stars!

    So so grateful for this
I have perused so many podcasts and youtube videos about anxiety and therapy. I am so happy to have stumbled upon this. The host not only understands the mechanics of anxiety and is able to coherently explain the patterns associated with it, her reasoning is grounded in science. From her vlogs I was able to turn a day around, from a disaster (laying in bed all day) to being a productive member of my family. Please keep this up. I can not thank you enough. Your message resonates with so many of us. You do good work!
