Compassionate LeaderHomeLove love love!! I’ve learned so much. I felt heard and seen. This podcast has gotten me through the most lonely and uncertain times. Dene’s softness and Vanessa’s blunt yet compassionate approach creates the perfect balance.

Nick1235478Really good show!I’ve been following you on Instagram. And just tuned into the podcast. The title of your show is great. The topics are relatable and I put things into perspective really enjoy the show the info and the best part is becoming the best person that I can be.

Frsicodog78Becoming one sidedI used to like this show a lot more. Now it feels like it is becoming pretty one sided and predictable… even defensive. I think you are losing some nuance. still 4 stars because I loved your past work.

LuwalstenReligionI love your podcast, thank you so much for sharing such meaningful conversation. I have a difficult request. I am in a relationship with someone that grew up very agnostic and I grew up the extreme other end conservative Christian. I am no longer part of that aspect of my life, I consider myself atheist, but it is still part of me because you can’t ever completely take that away from someone’s cultural upbringing. How do you navigate that relationship?! I love him so much but when it comes to my family who is still practicing Christian, he can’t do it.

Tashi AwesomeGreat content, jarring advertisementsSudden ad-breaks disrupt the flow of conversation! Please provide some simple cue that an ad is about to take place.

LadybtonnLoving thisSuper helpful with clarity!! Thank you 🙏🏼

Tina2893Ok until they hosted a not-ok guestMarianne Williamson is abusive as much as she is a hypocrite. I choose to believe those who survived her abuse. Not sure why you ladies don’t. It’s unfortunate because was just starting to listen to you, but now feel like you are not credible. Vet your guests better.
-
BriDan85Wonderful podcastSuch an informative podcast! The only issue would be the audio discrepancies, and the s sound/sibilance can be ear piercingly harsh, so much so I have to skip certain episodes, which is very unfortunate.
-
Emkur176 permission not to work so hardLOVED the podcast episode about permission to not work so hard 💕🥳🎉 I shared with at least 3 friends already. I may just share with patients just to listen to the last 15 minutes to hear those nuggets that women don’t hear enough. Stop looking outside yourself for validation!!💪🏻 you just need to make that last segment into a loop people can listen to each morning!!
-
mihrllecNeed to fix audioThe audio is so poor for this podcast. It sounds like this has been an issue for awhile. Goes up and down constantly, sometimes sounds like they have moved away from microphone.
-
LWoldrewsJust Wow YesThank you!!! “We expect our partners to do our reparenting for us…” Spot on…

Dan1777999877❤️Every single episode of Cheaper Than Therapy inspires and motivates me to take actions in my own life to apply what I learn from these incredible conversations. So thankful that I came across this show!

Dr. Leaf is a Precious Gem!Empowering Women!I love listening to the way Dene and Vanessa process the world around them. It’s such a pleasure to hear them laugh and talk together. I feel like I’m sitting at a table with them. They are warm and genuine. Their genuine connection to one another is incredibly inviting—my best friend and I often send episodes back and forth to each other because each episode is it’s own little homage to friendship. They’re dichotomy also makes for great conversations, that sometimes even leaves them questioning their own takes. As the mother of a special needs toddler I take great comfort in their motherhood anecdotes and the way they laugh about how challenging that phase of life is. From this podcast I’ve been continually reminded to put my own mask on before helping others, to let go of control, focus on community, and show-up for my daughter without losing my identity to motherhood. This podcast has been a gateway to many epiphanies about identity and the role of co-dependency in my relationships. I can’t thank you enough for helping me on my healing journey!! <3

M-YoginiWonderful PodcastThis is a super fun podcast. Ive enjoyed many episodes! Sometimes the sound quality isn’t very good on some episodes and it’s hard to hear what they are saying. It would be great if they could get that figured out. Otherwise it’s a smart and engaging show! Keep up the interesting conversations.
-
CallMeBettyCContent is great, production is notThe conversations are great, it’s really insightful content, but the production is so awful it’s hard to listen to. The sound is very inconsistent and will go from so low I have to keep turning the volume up to LOUD and jarring. Also, the ads are often at a much higher volume than the rest of the show and in the last episode I listened to the ad cut in the middle of a sentence and made me jump it was so loud. Love the content but I don’t choose this one often because I can’t deal with the other issues which is a bummer.
-
saedmedinaPLEASE FIX THE AUDIOHey vanessa i LOVE your podcast but sometimes i have a HARD time being able to understand every word because of the audio can you guys please update the audio your content is really valuable thank you!! For everything
-
sarabartellThe ads…I want to love this podcast but they have a really creepy ad for a True Crime podcast that just turns on so randomly and has no transition, it ruins the vibe and flow. I had to stop an episode because it’s just so creepy and not the same positive energy as the rest of the podcast.
-
klagainAmazing content!I have loved every single episode I’ve listened to. Thank you for your beautiful work and for sharing it with the world. I have gotten so much value out of your podcasts. I do want to say that the latest 2 - 3 episodes have had terrible sound on Dene’s speaker (I think Dene. Maybe it’s Vanessa) it’s really hard to hear and understand what she is saying. Maybe the speaker is not working? Still worth listening to but a little frustrating to comprehend. Thanks again for your beautiful light that you are sharing.
-
mverni_ArtSOOOO GOOD!Recently discovered these amazing women and their podcast - they have such beautiful conversations with sooo much warmth and compassion. But also keep it real with humor or sharing their own experiences. Incredible insight, incredible guests and an honest portrayal that none of us is ever “done” evolving into our best selves! L😘VE!!!
-
Nathalie Rodrigues de CarvalhoPlease fix audio for better listening experienceThe content is so great, but so hard to listen to because of audio inconsistencies. The hosts’ volume is really loud and jarring and the guests’ is often too low. Would love to keep listening but it can be almost painful on the ear because of the microphone quality. Especially when people laugh :(
-
Fork the ManA mental health routine stapleCompassionate, insightful, transparent, and definitely cheaper than therapy.
-
hotgirlfallNew listener, great content, audio needs balancingFound this podcast on an Instagram deep dive on therapists with compassionate perspectives & liked the show title ;) Would love if y’all could adjust the audio so that guests and hosts are all recorded at the same volume, it’s very much shouting versus quiet and switches throughout the episode.
-
SillyHillbillyLove, audio quality could be better!Wonderful, insightful podcast that hits home - would love if more time was spent evening the volume for a better listening experience:)
-
virtual therapistLove! As a therapist, I love this podcast! Vanessa and Dene are so relatable and make these topics digestible to so many people! A topic to explore in future podcasts - misunderstanding borderline personality disorder & codependency
-
HermosaCarolRedheadsI think it’s awesome your mom liked being a redhead and you tried it at one time in the past and recently colored your hair again as a redhead. This is my ten cents; my mom colored her hair red and I’ve been a redhead for decades by choice. I love being a redhead and I get compliments all the time on my hair… I do think the color changes how we present ourselves without us even knowing it; without us even trying. Redheads are scarce and unusual…it’s a natural attention getter. Combined with fair skin it’s a lovely contrast. If you like being a redhead stay a redhead head!! P.S. I love the podcast :-) Congrats on 100 episodes.
-
MyDeitiTheir energy is INSANE!!!Vanessa and Dené show is aboslutly amazing! They combine their psycological background & lived experiences with depth, yogic psychology, and mindfulness to serve others in living their most authentic lives! I love it!
-
Obsessed1235THANK You!Thank you so much for this show Vanessa and Dené! The content of your show is great but I think it’s the dynamic between you two that really makes it. I really enjoy seeing how each of you approaches a situation. Keep doing your thing!! I will gladly keep supporting!!
-

I love the different formats you have and especially grateful for the conversations the two of you share (recent ones on self sacrificing/coda and the woman/hbo show were you spoke so eloquently about single moms (thank you!!!) Susie Pettit 🙏🏽💙☀️

westcottwyGratefulI so look forward to the weekly podcast. For me it feels like a beautiful conversation with close friends. I love listening and the Aha! moments. It has been a useful tool for me during this transition in my life. 50 year old divorced after 27 years during a pandemic. This has definitely been a bright light for me during the dark moments. My toolbox continues to build! Thankful I found you❤️
