Unfocused hosts and too much background noise
I've been looking for an aircraft accident analysis podcast for a while. Apple suggested this show so I downloaded several episodes to preview. I couldn't even make it through one full episode. The hosts had a guest who was apparently so unprofessional and insecure that he insisted on having his wife and infant present. The infant continually wailed throughout the recording and the dumb cow of a wife was so selfish as to take it out if the room - and no one else said anything. One of the hosts was a student of the guest (inappropriate?) and either too scared to say anything - or her presence was the reason the wife insisted on remaining in the room. Who knows. This entire show is a disgrace and insult to the subject matter.

    Almost perfect
I’ve been listening for about 2 years but I’m leaving this review as my farewell to this podcast. Well researched but I can’t listen anymore because of Miranda. She seems to not pay attention and then make the host repeat it just for her. Very disruptive. Also she has this need to ‘rage’ which comes across as insincere and frankly a but disrespectful. I’m just fed up with her ruining a perfectly good podcast each week.

    My Favorite Nerds
And I should know. I like the way they switch from podcaster to podcaster and make fun of each other (kindly). They’re funny. At first Nick seems intimidating (GREAT voice), but despite his incredible knowledge, he’s kind and humble (not to fan girl or anything). I love my Colorado homies. Also, I cross stitch, too, Christie. We should trade patterns. Anyway, much love to you all. I need to Patreon ya, but I just moved and got a puppy and the house is a mess, full time job, and I’m lazy. Thanks for the great research.

    Amazing
This Podcast has everything you look in a good show. High levels of detail, great talking points, and, what every Podcast lacks, comedy. I can’t wait for the next episode every Tuesday. It’s wait keeps me going during the week and has helped give me great context into the Aviation industry. From Miranda’s hilarious rage to Nick’s increasingly insightful comments and storyline; this podcast has it all. This Podcast is constantly growing and makes any Hard Landing fun and interesting. I would definitely recommend this Podcast to anyone interested in the Aviation Industry for laughs or insights or, for those that just want something different in the form of plane crash mysteries. Hard Landings crew you’re truly amazing and keep up the great work!

A great panel review of air disasters
One of my favorites, combining technical details and inside baseball with a fun banter. Perfectly balanced. Stop bleeping curse words. We’re all adults. Hopefully.

    The best aviation disaster podcast
I’ve been a faithful listener since the beginning. I’ve listened to other podcasts do reports on crashes, then listen to these guys do the same crash and get so much more out of it. They’re not just reading reports, they bring personality and character to the show, very knowledgeable about aviation and know what they’re talking about. You feel like you’re just sitting down talking with friends! You must check out this show, learn not only about the sad disasters, but how we’ve learned from these accidents to make travel safer today.

    I agree with other commenters….
….that Miranda adds nothing but distraction to this well-researched podcast. Why is she there? Her comments are of the Valley Girl variety:” OmiGAWD!”, and throw the whole narrative off. Please, rethink using her.

    Great show but….
Great show, great delivery. Super informative, engrossing BUT Miranda has got to pipe down. She asks some really great questions but she is so critical and victim blames all the time. It’s disheartening and makes me want to shut it off. I think she thinks she’s wittier/funnier than she actually is.

    Why is Miranda here?
I really enjoy how knowledgeable Nick is as it relates to aviation and the accidents they choose are very interesting but I have one question. Why is Miranda on the show?

    Great Firsthand Aviation Knowledge
I really have mixed feelings on this show. I am very interested in the subject matter covered and the aviation knowledge and experience shared by Nick, but I also find myself getting extremely annoyed while listening. I’m not here to make any rude comments, but would personally prefer if it were a one person show. I do appreciate all of the research and thoroughness that go into making the episodes. If you are interested in aviation safety, give it a try.

    What’s with Miranda?
I like this podcast, but Miranda interrupts so frequently with such dumb comments. I often find myself saying: « shut up Miranda, you’re wasting my time! » It’s really annoying to be « into » the story being told by the male host, waiting, in suspense, for what’s going to happen when Miranda suddenly pipes up with a foolish, frequently out of context remark! She needs to be taken off the show if it is to be viable!

This podcast is great. Just needs more description in some of the things for the people who are not people who fly very often

Too Heavy to Land, by One
This is one of those podcasts that makes the all-too-common mistake of 1) assuming their listeners are stupid; 2) adding a superfluous person to represent the stupid listeners; and 3) asking the dumbest friend they have to be that person. Both women talk in goofy, affected voices a lot. They still sound uncomfortable after 100+ episodes. Miranda constantly interrupts to ask obvious questions or to ruin the point someone was building up to. The only sound effect they need is not, as they seem to think, a piercing recreation of a cockpit warning. It’s a *womp womp* to play every time Miranda talks. The worst habits of Thinking Sideways, Going West, and LPOTL all in one tiresome package. Good effort?

    really swell!
Kids nowadays can put together a terrific podcast about death and destruction in fiery obliteration and not be either morbid or stupid which is what most podcasts about this subject often do. One of the female hosts (Miranda) will occastionally get a bit shrill which tests whats left of my hearing but that's okay. I hope to be perished soon anyway. Really great podcast.

    Research amazing but....
.....the ladies must be competing for a ‘Most Words Said’ competition because the need to comment on every-little-thing is a constant. I get it—that’s what podcasters do, but each girl cuts each host (3 host total) off every chance they get. The poor guy host just wants to finish a sentence sometimes—-and I WANT him to finish a sentence cause it’s usually interesting what he’s saying. That said—very well researched and you can really tell these host enjoy what they are discussing.

    Fun and Informative
My favorite podcast. The hosts set a conversational but informative tone that is easy to listen to, easy to follow, and even sometimes fun (which sounds weird for a podcast about aviation disasters, but they make it work!) 5 stars and highly recommended!
