    Works when…
…the interviewer gets out of the way, stops pushing Indy Pass and just lets these legends talk.

    Thanks!
Just stumbled across this because you reviewed one of my low key favorites: Bluewood! My mind was blown by the chance to learn so much about the ski industry.

    Outrageously high quality
The interviewers here are just outrageously high in quality. This will make you realize a lot of other podcasts are just talking/creating content. The prep work, interview caliber, polish and flow are top notch. Not softball questions but thoughtful interviews with good guests. I’m blown away.

    Best skiing podcast!
I really enjoy the Storm. It’s the best podcast that I’ve found, fishing related or otherwise. Stuart’s interviews are really well done - well researched ahead of time, and a nice mix of being very professional, but also relatable for those of us who aren’t ski industry insiders. As a fellow native of the Midwest who now lives in an area with bigger mountains and more snow, I love that he includes quite a few episodes highlighting the little ski areas across the Midwest that skied for the first 40+ years of my life.

    Great show
Great show, different angle than most other podcasts out there. Learn something every episode. Best skiing podcast out there, provides information that is actually helpful and relatable. Should interview Jason Leventhal, best interviewer and best interviewere.

    Great Content
I really enjoy this podcast, the content is great and Stuart really knows his stuff. I love hearing the stories and perspectives of these experienced executives in the snow sports industry. I appreciate the platform that Stuart has created to let them speak. The intros are a bit corny and not quite the right vibe for the podcast but overall really a great show.

Quality content for those who truly love skiing
Other than the annoying inbox alerts happening in the background of many episodes this is a must-listen for any avid skier or boarder. Extremely well done! Every episode is entertaining but also educational. Even the episodes about obscure resorts I’ve never heard of are fun to listen to. I love hearing about the history of each ski area and how the sport has developed over time. So glad I found this podcast! Please, Stuart, find some way to mute these distracting sounds.

    Mt Baldy Episode
Your episode on Mt Baldy was excellent! I skied the a bunch of times years ago and your interview w/ Robby reminded me about how that mountain is a true gem in the region. I need to get back up there.

    Fascinating peek behind the curtain
I’ve listened to quite a few of these podcasts, and they’re always entertaining and informative. The host clearly has a passion for not only skiing, but these resorts and how they're run. I’m especially impressed with the wide variety of people that are interviewed, it’s not just Ikon and Epic resorts but Mom and Pop resorts scattered around the country, including the Midwest. Those resorts often have the most interesting stories to tell as they are run not by large conglomerates or CEO’s but by people who are just trying to keep their resorts running. Keep up the great work!

Mr. Winchester may enjoy skiing, like us all, but his positions on shot mandates are disgusting (he supported resort workers being required to get jabbed). What does he say now in the wake of myocarditis, people keeling over, etc. ?

    👎🏻
Why listen to a dude living in Brooklyn who sympathizes with VailResorts when you could listen to people who are actually stoked on the outdoor world?

    Great Podcast!!
I’ve been listening for two months now working my way from beginning to end. Great informative podcast about the business end of the sport we all love. Keep up the good work. Also, Storm Skiing Podcast reminded me to subscribe to Mountain Journal.

    Depth
I caught a recent podcast with the host interviewing the General Manager of a small mountain in NH. The hosts understanding of our small little family mountain was impressive, he asked the GM all the right questions. He shined a nice light on our mountain. Great work. New subscriber here.

    Awesome podcast
I love this podcast. It’s awesome to learn about the ski industry from ski insiders. Stuart has such a great rapport with his guests.

    Great skiing pod
An amazing deep dive with a crazy variety of industry icons, entrepreneurs and insiders. The pod cover both the sport and the business of skiing in a sophisticated way while never losing track of the fun quirky world of lift served skiing. Often the best episodes are with owners of small areas that aren’t on anyones radar. If you aren’t fired up to get out on the slopes after listening something’s wrong.

    Helps with the stoke
Really like the pod. Interesting interviews with some of the ski industry’s important players. Keep it up!

    In-depth ski interviews
Great show for those interested in resort based skiing which most of us do. Amazing guests and long interviews with great information. Makes me want to go to some of the small hills in the east.

    Love the insight!
great interviews with the movers and shakers in the ski industry!

    Vail Chairman Katz Pod
Great podcast concerning as an epic pass holder with a “home mountain” Sunapee, that is not a priority. My takeaway from the podcast is that things are going exactly as Vail had planned and they are very happy with the results. Seems like a very challenging year for all that have been lifelong skiers and adapting to this new version of skiing culture.

    For all skiers
My go to ski podcast. Solid interviews and you can receive additional info to go along with the interviews via the newsletter. And Stewart keeps it real — ie, this is not just for the “elite” cool skiers only. Great stuff.

    The Best Ski Podcast Period.
I have no idea how Stuart is able to obtain so many incredible interviews with most of the key players of the ski resort industry. Simply amazing - keep up the great work!

    Great ski area podcast
I was just getting back into skiing with my kids, after a 20-year break, and this podcast was like a refresher course for me. A great blog, by a knowledgeable guy who writes well, with long form podcast interviews I can listen to on the way to work, including the places in the Northeast that I go to. Covers the customer experience and business side of these places, really great.

    Storm Skiing Rules!!!!
Hello Northeast Ski Bums. If you haven’t listened to the Storm, you are REALLY missing out. Stuart has picked up where Wintry Mix left off, and brought the focus back to the ski industry side of things. Not only are there some really great interviews here, but there is so much insight into the complex world of skiing in the biggest little corner of ski country. Why are you still reading…download now!!! If you’re wary, find Stu’s interview with your favorite mountain and go from there. I especially love his interviews on NELSAP and with Brian Fairbanks. Bravo STU!!

For the hardcore rider & skiers
Great podcast for the passionate rider & skier. The main focus seems to be on the often neglected & under appreciated, yet much loved by us locals, northeast snowboard & ski scene. Love hearing the behind the scenes & backstories of some of my favorite local mountains. Also finding out there are some other smaller mountains I probably should be checking out. Bolton is definitely now on the list. Keep em coming Stuart & great job!

Behind the ski through a relatable voice
As someone who’s immersed themselves in East Coast ski culture and industry, this is my go to Podcast for all things related. I really appreciate Stuart’s inside look into mountain operations through well thought out interviews with leaders of many resorts east coast and beyond. Keep your tips up and think SNOW!

    Interesting and thorough
Stuart has great interviews with the top leaders in the ski industry. He asks very interesting and perceptive questions and follows up with common sense queries that help people not in the industry understand the reasons behind the decisions that get made at ski areas. If you want to know more about the inner working of ski resorts and the factors that drive the business, listen to Stuart’s interviews.

    Great!
Interesting subjects, great guests, and knowledgeable host. If you love skiing the East you’ll love this podcast. Love the Indy guests!

    Wow!
I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this podcast. Stuart Winchester is knowledgeable, entertaining, and has a lot to say about skiing in the Northeast. His love for Berkshire East, where I learned to ski, is refreshing since the family ski areas are so overshadowed by mega-resorts. All of his interviews, though, are informative and spread his joy of skiing without being fawning or otherwise annoying. Great podcast! Keep it up!
