Philosophy #248

The Melt is a podcast that incapsulates all of the experiences that fall outside of the spectrum of consensus reality. Whether these be drug, paranormal, or religious experiences. The Melt values the lost importance of first hand experience. Not everything can be quantified, measured, or repeated in a laboratory. Some things only happen in a spontaneous and immediate fashion and are not subject to repetition on demand. There is a vast expanse of phenomena that Western society and it’s institutions don’t see as valuable or worthy of exploration. The Melt does. The Melt wants to hear your stories and wants to tell your stories. The Melt seeks to not only be a place within which to do that but also where we will talk to other experiencers, people who study these experiences, and people who write about these experiences. The Melt’s tenets:1. Cognitive Libertarianism2. The Importance of Firsthand Experience3. Ontological Anarchy4. Critical Thinking5. Process6. Real-time Magick7. Bou...

    The best podcast!
The Melt has the best guests, interesting subject matter and two incredible hosts.

    Well…
I think that there is a lot of plot holes in this dnd game and the players act weird. I do like the fact that the half elf has 2 classes. But the DM needs a better plot.

    Love this show but . . .
Hunter, I wish you would try reflecting what Chris says before you jump in to disagree. It’s a basic active listening skill. Discussions of differing points of view are interesting but marital spats are cringe.

Intelligent, open-minded conversation, and lots of fun too
I've been listening to Chris and Hunter for awhile now. The Melt is everything I said in the title, and so much more too. In my personal world they are stars, I just can't understand why they don't have a HUGE following🤔They are professional, amusing, they both have quiet, thoughtful, engaging personalities. They are a great team! Mark

    New favorite
I stumbled upon The Melt via You Tube and am hooked. I love everything about it: the intro music, the quiet intelligence of the hosts and guests, the high production values. I just feel a little smarter after listening. I’m going to subscribe to the second hour even though it means I’ll have to forego buying my goatee wax and wait on getting my new inflatable casket. It’s that good! Thank you guys

    Fascinating
One of the most fascinating and awe-inspiring podcasts I've ever listened to. When I first found it and was going through the episode names and descriptions, I couldn't figure out which one to click on first. I was like a kid in a candy store. Keep up the great work!
