    Avoids certain ideas
Look, I get it’s a “leans left” podcast sponsored by Chevron but they seriously do everything they can to avoid talking about the cleanest, safest form of energy we currently have access too: Nuclear Fission. They talk about fusion more than fission and fusion is currently still a pipe dream. If you ACTUALLY care about the environment discussion Nuclear MORE and recognize that it is not fossil, it is not renewable - it is BETTER!!

    Mixed bag
Reporting on climate crisis mixed with softball interviews of politicians and mouthpieces for the fossil fuel industry.

    Too short, not enough insights
This has the potential to be a really good podcast, but I expect more context and background for the stories.

Chevron is holding them back from 5 stars
Great podcast but supported by chevron…

“Support for this show is provided by chevron, the human energy company”
    I mean come on guys

Excellent show for following latest energy and environment news
So much is happening in global and especially US energy transition right now. This show is essential for staying atop the latest developments. It’s a short discussion that usually gets to the heart of the matter very quickly. Yes, as other reviews have pointed out, Chevron (prominently) sponsors the podcast but it does not seem to have any effect on editorial independence. The oil and gas industry are covered with the same scrutiny as any other publication one would read.

    Good coverage but chevron
Chevron uses a good podcast to greenwash - it’s a shame
  • generubin
    Really Chevron?
The show is quite decent but after a few months of listening, I just couldn’t deal with the bummer of Chevron bull about cow methane and caring about the climate. So I have removed this show from my playlist.

    Surface level
Really not an in-depth show, clearly trying to portray “both sides” (hem hem, sponsored by oil and gas anyone?)
  • decepicon
    Decent show, weird sponsor
I find it really funny that Chevron is the sponsor of this green energy show

    Succinct
A compact but complete reporting of timely energy topics significant to climate change. Chevron’s attempt to greenwash itself through its sponsorship is a bit puzzling.

this podcast is sponsored by Chevron
Verge confirmed this podcast is sponsored by oil company and climate change agent Chevron. It’s also educational to look into who owns Politico. Not good!

    Not worth the time.
Not only is the production amateurish, but it is sponsored by Chevron! In the words of one of movies most famous villains of the 90s, “Scott… You just don’t get it, do you?”

    Seriously?
I’m a person of color. The stretch to make voting, people of color, and climate sounded like journalism school copy put together in the last second, because the student was too lazy to find a real story. Try harder.

    A must-listen for energy nerds
I love this show, and listen to it every single morning. It’s an indispensable part of my daily routine.

    Volume
Great content. I just wish they would use a higher recording volume. It seems to be lower than other podcasts so I have to turn the volume up (and then down). But, the information is worth it.

    Daily listen
Great daily and topical, informative summaries of important energy/climate/environmental issues. Just wish Politico would get a different sponsor so we wouldn’t have to listen to Chevron‘s greenwashing!

    Short
There are times when we need a short summary of issues rather than a detailed report. This podcast provides the short story.

    Nice podcast, wrong title
A more honest title for this podcast would be Politico Climate or Politico Environment or even Politico IPCC.

    Pretty good news podcast!
This podcast is very informative. It provides excellent energy news and information. The news delivery and story telling is engaging. And as a clean energy fan myself, it’s great to stay informed on all-energy matters. Back in Dec-19 I gave a constructive review mentioning various improvement opportunities. Here I’m revising my review. I can say that the host and the podcast production has improved tremendously and continues to get better. The one piece that could be better, however, is if this podcast wasn’t sponsored by dirty-energy Chevron and their green-washing ads, but I guess they are helping us get this for free. Nonetheless, when a fossil fuel company pays for ads, it makes me question the news “freedom” and the reporting “position” of the podcast. Hopefully one day the podcast can get a better and more ethical sponsor that’s not a fossil fuel, planet-polluting company like Chevron.

    What?
I was looking forward to hearing some substantive reporting by Politico on this incredibly important and timely issue. Oil is tanking right at the moment scientists have said we must start transitioning away from fossil fuels. Needless to say, my ability to take their reporting seriously took a nosedive before it even began when, as an intro, they announced, “stay tuned after the podcast for a message from Chevron.” Ummm, yeah, NEXT.

Like an “energy politics” espresso shot first thing in the am
Good podcast roundup of energy politics. Lots of concise information on lots of important energy topics that will never make it “above the fold.” I’ve read other reviews criticizing the host (Kelsey Tamborrino). Hogwash. I love Kelsey’s voice! I find her measured and consistent delivery fitting and appropriate for the content. Keep up the great work Kelsey. Tell those naysayers to sit down and listen.
