The Moment

Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl. Girl marries girl. Boy gets boy back, but then his family can’t stand him. Wondery’s new series is all about love, relationships, and the sometimes bumpy road to commitment. Host Ingrid Haas (Chelsea Lately, Key and Peele) recently got engaged herself, and she will explore stories from real couples to learn what went wrong, and how they finally got it right. She’ll recount surprise engagements featuring pop stars and tense wedding ceremonies. And she’ll look for answers to the questions that keep us up at night: Will I ever find someone? If I like it, will I put a ring on it? And how the hell does anyone get to happily ever after anyway?

    Feel Good Stories
I absolutely resent how the host keeps talking about herself. Any opportunity to talk about herself is not missed. It actually messes up the story because your hearing about the guests but then she starts talking about her own life and your thinking, “wait, I thought he made less than her, but now he makes double her salary? Did I miss something? Oh, nope. The host is talking about herself again.” Who cares. If you want to have a self indulgent, all about you podcast, then make it. Otherwise, just tell the story that’s listed in the introduction.

Stop rating shows you love LOW
I like this show! I see a trend of people rating a show extremely low because they loved it but there’s no new episodes. I’m sorry but, do y’all think low ratings help podcast teams bring their shows back to life, or your chosen platform? Backwards. Hate to see it. Very Karen-like. Give an honest rating based on the content of the show or please stay off of this platform as you’re making it function worse 🥲

    Disappointing
I was just about to start season 2 and you sold out. Very big bummer in an already tough year to lose what was a happy moment in many of our lives. Disappointing.

    So bummed
What a great podcast - so sad to see it’s gone to a premium channel.

    Loved this but...
But it moved to a paid subscription app. Pretty bummed bc it was so heartwarming and witty.

    Moving to paid app
I loved the first episode but it’s seems to be moving to their own paid subscription. I understand that this is free to produce but there are plenty of add to help with the cost. I guess I won’t be hearing anymore of this podcast.

    Wish there was more...
The worst thing about this podcast is that there aren’t more episodes. Seriously. After listening to the first episode I was completely hooked. Each of the stories told are so captivating and magical - it feels like I’m watching (listening to?) a different romance movie every episode. I really wish there was a Season 2 for this show, because I cannot get enough of it. I rarely write podcast reviews, but I hope that by doing this I’m putting enough energy into the universe to give me a second season for this show. That is how desperate I am. If you’re a sucker for romance this is the perfect podcast for you. Just give it a listen, you won’t regret it.

    Rest of the episodes?
I’m loving the two episodes I heard so far BUT couldn’t find the rest even after paying for the subscription on their website!!! I believe it’s supposed to have 12 episodes. Anyone had the same issue or figured it out?

    Great Podcast but...
So I started listening when the podcast first came out last year and I loved it!!! I thought it was amazing and couldn’t wait for more. I was really bummed to see that there is only two episodes here now. Apparently Wondery moved the episodes to a new app but I think it would be nice to have them back on this app. Hope y’all are doing good during this time. My love is with everyone 💙💙💙

Where are all of your episodes? I couldn’t find a way to contact you other than a review; currently only 2 episodes are available. Thanks.

    It’s okay
It’s okay but then i slowly became uninvested. I’m not sure why. Stopped mid-season.

    The Unethical Content Creators Trend
Why didn’t you start on your own platform to begin with? Give a chance to other creative people to have their spot on here and on the charts. The show is good (the two stars), but in my own opinion what your team has been doing is unethical. You’re getting publicity on here for free and probably getting paid for it (clearly not enough to your liking) but then don’t do it. Go on your Wondry plus and pay for marketing and advertisement. You know...the right way! Don’t start here get on the charts, take spots of other creators, get listeners invested, then move somewhere else.

The stories are amazing, the host is not
I love the variety of stories on this podcast. They’re a little happy, sometimes they make you think, it’s always a good listen. I am anxiously awaiting Season 2...but and it’s a big BUT...the host is not part of the story, a love story involves two people. Ingrid interjecting herself into each and every episode just does not do it for me. It’s not the Ingrid Show. She takes away from the otherwise excellent content.

Can’t wait for a new season!
I love the show, when is dreading two coming?! ❤️

I ugly cried over these stories!
    Sooo good!

Host needs to get to the story!
LOVE the stories they are lovely and well communicated. Fun to have a podcast that’s uplifting while slogging through news, etc. Unfortunately the host goes on and on about her engagement and personal issues and starts to lose me. I just fast forward through the parts when she gets off track.
  • Gwenna S.
Some of the stories are great, but...
I can’t stand the host constantly interjecting comments. The frenetic energy is distracting and I don’t want to hear about her relationship when I’m completely embroiled in the story. Please dial it back and fade into the background.

    Not Just Mushy Stories
When I first started listening to this podcast, I was worried it was going to be a bunch of “meet-cute” stories that make you want to gauge your eyes out. I’m pleased to say that the stories in this podcast don’t focus solely on the cutesy parts of dating and engagement but real life issues and complications.

Love is not perfect and that’s okay.
Love this podcast. Didn’t expect to love this podcast so much. Really sheds light on the beautiful and the ugly of love! It feels so real and I really enjoy hearing everyone’s opinion/insight into their love journey. Thanks Ingrid for a great podcast that makes me cry a little too much.

    Unexpected delight
I didn’t expect to like this podcast based on the description, I’m not a romcom kinda gal. However, I heard a trailer for this podcast on another podcast, and I immediately loved Ingrid’s humor and sarcasm. Lo and behold, once I started listening to the episodes, I fell in love with these stories and these couples. Fantastic real look at the ups and downs of relationships through real stories. I’m hooked!

Gotta hand it to the host
I love this podcast! I love the wide range of stories and really appreciated the personal anecdotes and thoughts from the host. Her perspective was a nice lens to see all the stories through.
  • Christ the nickname is taken
    Great podcast
Love the stories and guests. I find it very irritating when the host compares the guests’ stories to something going on in her life. I find these to be formulaic, drawn out, and usually the comparisons are very poor.
  • MagsBeacom
    Smiles from ear to ear
Ingrid is hilarious and oh so personable while she takes you on a new ride each week to snag your dose of warm fuzzies. Love wins!
  • MadieMarie15
    Ingrid is annoying
Love the stories, but Ingrid gets on my nerves. I’m not interested in hearing about her personal life or corny jokes. It really takes away from the story. Her advertisements also drive me crazy; her voice is so grating. Thank God for the skip ahead button so I don’t have to listen! If not for that, I would stop listening altogether. Please get a new host or writer and stick to narrating ONLY.

    What’s with the host bashing?
Just discovered this podcast and thoroughly enjoy these true stories of love, warts and all. In my opinion this host does a great job. Keep up the good work!

    Listen!
I love this pod cast! It’s real. It’s authentic. It’s a great listen. Love!

    I love a happy cry 😍
My new favorite podcast! Really enjoyed listening to all the unique love stories and I believe Ingrid did a great job as a host! Obviously people who left a negative review about the host do not understand the concept of this podcast and are therefore better off listening to something else. I enjoyed every MOMENT of it!
  • bluejeanamy
    Great but ...
I love the stories and love the takeaways ... but like many have mentioned, the host is grating. Especially when she talks about her own relationship or she does ads. It’s jarring and really takes away from an otherwise great concept.
  • 16273839:
    New host please
Anyone else feel like the hosts voiceovers lend very little to the stories itself? Her anecdotes sound completely self-serving which is a weird being that people are here to listen to the stories. Her voiceovers in the advertisements are even cringey.

    Wonderful Podcast
Absolutely amazingly crafted podcast! The stories make you laugh, think, and are perfectly heartwarming! I recommend this podcast to every person I know. Can’t wait till next season!

    Wonderful
What a beautiful podcast about the love and difficulties of relationships.
  • cas198944
    Sub host?
Everything about this is wonderful except the hosts interjections of her own personal musings. I wish I liked her voice, writing, speed more but beyond the narrative to help the story along I just don’t like it, it doesn’t exactly fit.
  • tiffo_11
    Love the love stories
If you enjoy listening to love stories then listen to this podcast. Each one has been a great example of people’s experiences about love and never giving up. It keeps me hopeful that one day I’ll have a love story to share too :)
  • nlc214
    Amazing
This is my new favorite podcast (at least non true crime based!) It’s made me smile every single episode, cry tears of happiness and heartbreak. It’s inspirational. Please keep it going! It’s not cheesy, and has helped me when evaluating my own relationship. Love it ❤️

    Breath of fresh air
Amazing podcast that gives a lovely twist on the stories of normal couples. It takes the simple situations people face every day and brings them to the forefront in a heart warming, loving way. Love this podcast!
  • A hitory buff
    An amazing and inspiring stories
Thank you so much for such an incredible podcast about love and redemption in a time filled with schism, polarization & hatred. Special thanks to the people who shared their incredible & inspiring love stories. Thank you for the hope!
  • Little Fishie
    Ick
Initially I thought this would be fun, rom-com for podcasts. Nope. Just talking about a bunch of messed up relationships & justifying the inability to have boundaries. Pass.
  • Ma Liz!
Oh my lanta!!! Love love love episode 12
Y’all Ingrid does such an amazing job finding unique love stories that any and everyone can relate too. I started episode 12 interested in what would happen with this lady in a tree, and have ended up with tears in my eyes the remainder of the episode!!! Y’all do yourself a favor and listen to my girl Ingrid! And if you do nothing else check out episode 12....one of my favorite podcast episodes ever! Can’t wait for season 2!
  • Holllla908763
Great show, but host needs to reevaluate her role
I love the show and its premise, butt like many here have said, Ingrid needs to work on keeping the episodes about the people she is interviewing, not herself. Her constant interjections about her and D are grating compared to the rest of the story each episode. In the season finale she seemed to chill on that and making the very bad corny jokes (it was more of a serious toned episode so maybe that helped), but I hope she improves this on season two. Additionally, there wasnt a ton of diversity from couple to couple- I would love to hear about queer or even non-theatrical world couples. Everyone seems to have met in acting or improv class!!
  • Ambularrrr
    Great stories but......
Just let the host do an entire episode about her relationship. I’m not interested in hearing her nonsense about her fiancé randomly thrown into the mix. She’s even worse during the commercials. If not for those things I would give 5 stars.
  • Cmessthe1st
I’m a sucker for love stuff
What a great idea for a podcast. It’s great to learn about other people’s stories and also learn how to apply other peoples experiences to your knowledge.

    Feel good stories
    Love it!

    This is GOOD
As a 24 year old hopeless romantic and crush enthusiast, The Moment always leaves me feeling slightly hopeful about my own (non-existent) love life. Good job, Ingrid! Good job, Wondery! Keep up the good storytelling!
