I’m also a huge 99er fanUpdates on the coaching abuse situationCurious if you might do an episode to follow up on the current status after the “Meg” episode and report came out …it’s a lot to unpack but would love to know about any implementation of changes for young players.

cat5269Love to hear the stories. Thanks for the laughs. I enjoy the diversity of the women you talk with. I particularly enjoyed the short course in Title IX. Please continue searching for other women in sports. Now I would love to hear from the newest Olympic stars 2024! Go women’s Rugby.

RayrayFreevilleGratefulLove this Pod- such good in-depth interviews w such a range of great women. As a woman who grew up playing HS & college sports at the dawn of Title 9, realize when I listen to Laughter Permitted that I am still that avid jock who loves her game, teamates and coaches and yes, athletes are brilliant, esp female athletes. Thank you Julie & Lynn .

Crip0807Lynn WilliamsThe Lynn Williams episode was uplifting hearing her insights and growth in finding her joy. I go through withdrawal when Laughter is on hiatus, thanks for letting us into the worlds of your amazing guests. Excellent work!
-
Idiot84Just Keeps Getting BetterI have been listening almost since the beginning, and hope to listen for many more seasons. Julie and Lynn manage to bring out the humor, wisdom, and humanity of their guests every single time, while giving them the opportunity to share their knowledge and skills in a way that’s often uplifting and always entertaining. Kudos to great women doing great things!
-
jmurr33World Cup EpisodesThis is hands down my favorite podcast. I am always disappointed when a season ends because I know I will need to go through withdrawal until the next episode. The World Cup episodes were BRILLIANT. I LOVED hearing all of your perspectives. I was worried since Julie had been on the team, she would hold back. But I so appreciated her and her guests’ honest opinions of how the team played. You said what the rest of us were thinking. Keep up the hard work, Julie and Lynn!!!
-
lmdubsSo good!Love hearing perspective from Julie and her OG soccer teammates and legends. This is some great soccer yea! Can’t wait for more episodes as the WWC continues! Oosa-oosa-oosa-ahh!

Bucky6ernie8From a Julie Foudy groupieSo excited to find this podcast! Thanks to after the whistle and Apple podcast! My kids and grandkids call me a Julie Valatie groupie since I drag them all over for the 99 world cup! I thought I was lucky that several guys from our high school soccer team lived in my neighborhood so I got to play in the fields around home with them. Girls, soccer team, que? So Julie Foudy, Mia, Hamm, Michelle Akers were my heroes when I was already too old to be on a team. I love the energy and enthusiasm, as well as her football knowledge, including the importance of player interaction! Looking forward to each episode Usa usa usa uuggh

Geoff.DDonut worry, be happy - Amazing podcast!I have been listening for several years. What a great way to spend my commute laughing and learning. The learning has been important. The struggles and then accomplishments woman have had over the years are unbelievable. Thank you for sharing snd reminding us of both. Hopefully, we will continue to learn. Julie and Lynn, thank you so much!

Joey BensonViciously EntertainingHaven’t missed an episode yet. Easy, fun and insightful podcast

soccerlsc11Can’t stop Laughing! Permitted or not!!Long time fan, long time listener, but I have to say that this pod cast really screws with my intensity during my morning walk! I try to focus on my breathing & Julie snorts at a funny story. I try to grind out an extra mile & Julie & Lynn’s giggles make me wish I’d emptied my 65 year old bladder one more time before I left the house. Downtown Inglewood just thinks I’m an old lady talking to her self when I’m really just laughingly & lovingly listening to one of the best pod casts on air. Julie has always been generous to Womens Soccer & my team specifically 20+ years ago when she (maybe thru her sister?) donated to our memorial tournament, Kristiansen Klassic, we set up for our 23 yr old teammate who died of leukemia. Bless you Julie, for ALL the years of giving!

GoDucks!616Love This PodcastI love this podcast, but it’s super gross listening to them eating donuts on the air. Please don’t include that part. Ick!! It makes me want to turn the podcast off or skip over that part. Also, it’s really hard as a listener to follow along with the squeaker-toy games. We don’t know whose is squeaking in and we can’t play along. That part of the podcast could go. When Julie is just talking to the guests, though, this podcast is GREAT! Julie is a very good interviewer!!!
-
Wish I was a 99erNaomi is a rock star!I went for a run and listened to Naomi Girma’s story. First of all her laugh is infectious! I found myself laughing along with you all! The “kidnapping” story was hilarious but Julie’s Fruity Judy stories were great too! Always my “go-to” podcast when I run. Thanks for making the miles go by faster!!
-
alex_mmg11Naomi Girma episodeAmazing episode, she is the present and the future of our team! Next jersey for sure! What a honor, go Naomi!!
-
daaaaaaqAmazing content! Beautiful joyI so deeply love the combined themes in this show of joy and support and competitive greatness. The individuals on this show displaying of how all those things can thrive together in life has been deeply inspirational. Keep these episodes coming. Love Y’alll!
-
bleushaAkersLove your podcast, informative, honest, fun and definitely enjoy the laughs! Any chance on getting Michelle Akers on your podcast? Would love to hear her journey from being a phenomenal soccer player to becoming the founder of her Horse and Rescue Sanctuary. Linda

-
CLC02155FantasticGreat podcast. The conversations are meaningful and fun. Julie and Lynn are great together. The interviewees are insightful and good-humored. Donuts are delicious. Cinnamon rolls aren’t donuts but other than that, solid podcast.
-
adaws04Mikaela ShiffrinI love all of the episodes but I especially loved the Mikaela Shiffrin episode, please have her on again. I think it would be really interesting for you to talk to her about the Beijing Olympics that didn’t go so well then right after that winning the overall globe. You do a great job having inspirational athletes on the podcast, as a high schooler I love listening to all of these incredibly amazing and inspiring athletes and people.
-
JONASCULLENCHICJulie is a Great HostJulie is such a fun host! I love her interactions with her guests.
-
JulieMynetteLaughter found (didn’t know it was missing!)So I found this podcast after getting hooked on @JulieFoudy and her semi-quarantine Instagram updates from Tokyo this summer. I didn’t know I was missing laughter, but where has this been in my life? How did I not know about the brilliant joy that is Laughter Permitted? Time to make it part of my weekend routine! I’m of an age where I’m right on the Title IX bubble. I didn’t really benefit from it, but was adjacent to the 1st gen girls who did. Seeing this podcast celebrate strong women underscores both the value of the inclusion we’ve achieved, and the distance we have yet to go for true equity. It makes me giddy with hope (or maybe that’s the cinnamon roll I ate?)
-
Fa la la la la laAmazing and HystericalI love listening to this podcast and recently started having my daughter join me tuning in to some episodes. It’s so much fun and we laugh so much!
-
lmcmexPure JoyI love this podcast so much! I have listened to every episode many multiple times. I have recommended it to many people and shared it is insights. I have loved listening as the show has evolved and cast a wider net. Foudy was my favorite player on the 1999 team which I watched while packing my apartment with my new husband to move from Illinois where he had finished graduate school to California. Her gift of making the guest comfortable and having an enlightening and informative conversation while their personality shines through is remarkable. I enjoy every minute! If you haven’t listened yet you are missing out! Big Time!!
-
kitkatofcourseLaughter PermittedSuch a great podcast! It’s fun and thoughtful at the same time. It’s all women, so of course it’s great!
-
becelbarMaybe your best ever podcastToday’s episode with Layshia Clarendon was incredible. It really made me examine so much about gender norms, and I am so grateful to have learned so much. Thank you for this very important conversation.
-
TSuitsNYCThank youYou’re both able to balance insightful journalism and heavier topics on social justice with fun and levity. Your recent interview with Layshia exemplifies this. I will always be listening, I get excited when you have a new episode drop, and think you’re changing the game - again. Thank you!
-
GsGigiInspiring!I love listening to this podcast! My daughter (a former JFLA attendee) introduced it to me a few months ago and I have been binge listening to all of the episodes. So many amazing women with inspiring stories to share, including Julie and Lynn. I’m doing my best to put a lot of the things that I have learned from these women into action in my own life. I enjoy the laughs too!
-
Mol 3Y’all are awesome!!!Such a fantastic podcast!! Every episode is positive, uplifting, encouraging, funny, and interesting. So, so, so glad Julie and Lynn created a podcast that highlights dope, strong, incredible women!! Mad props to you, Julie and Lynn and keep on keepin on!
-
BgtrediytOutstandingThe Dawn Staley episode brought me here and now I can’t wait to listen to more. Entertaining and informative!
-
S&T2017Ruined me, in the best way. This was the first podcast I started listening to and it has ruined all other podcasts that have followed. Joules and Lynn may down play their placement in the podcast world, but to me their banter, humor and brilliance of giving you uplifting continuous life lessons is unmatched. You will laugh, cry, mainly from laughing, and for me always be working on being your best human. Thanks for all your joy, jokes and gems.
