meowakassidyAmazing podcastGreat podcast I thought the discussion on labor in the most recent episode “Are you Too Pretty to Work” was super interesting. I would say the only criticism I have is I do think a reading in women and labor definitely would have made the conversation surrounding women and the labor sphere more nuanced. The Caliban and the Witch by Silvia Fiedericci - honestly anything by her - demonstrates the nuances of how women were excluded in the labor sphere.

Shayna R.Love from oakland!Finding this podcast has been such a gift. My two favorite European divas!! Such funny, honest, and well researched commentary. Also Gina’s pronunciation of”Dracula” has me in chokehold
-
DanaAndrew23Great PodcastThe girls cover current topics with humor and grace.
-
Apple X🧚♀️Important podcast!I am so happy these girlies exist, intellectualizing the topics they talk about is so important! Pls never stop and thank you for creating a community of like minded individuals. 🥹👼
-
CptDetroitSo, SOOOOO BadThe topic of the episode was great, but it QUICKLY devolved into another post-Barbie “the patriarchy” blubber fest. 👎🏽🙄👎🏽

Goodnight CassieLaughs and insightThese girls give me the best sleepover conversation. Makes me laugh and also stops the conservative aunt trying to grown in me down in her tracks. Love their nitpicking of culture and also how candid their opinions are. Love them even when I have the hardest time understanding what they said because of the accent, which I love and there is a charm in deciphering and learning new slang. All the love from Mexico 🤍
-
coda_o7smartreally smart and thoughtful. real and relevant cultural criticism and commentary. thanks for the pod!
-

JeremyBentham1748Love the pod! Microphones are hurting my ears! Can we crowdfund for new mics?! I’ve found myself not wanting to listen because when you laugh loudly the volume is SO much louder than your speaking voices and it hurts 🥺. With love, Sensitive listener

Carson111992i ❤️ this pod!!gina and ione break things down with an amount of critical thought that I feared had been genuinely lost through over saturation of podcasts/social media. the research is always done with integrity and curiosity. I really enjoy their takes on pop cultural and societal issues, I love how they are not afraid to disagree with each other it really shows the strength of their bond and friendship. they are funny, smart and I highly recommend a listen.

shipwreckbluesFun but empty caloriesAimless, erratic, doesn’t understand the difference between critique and bashing, not enough research = all you’re doing is asserting your own opinions in different ways vs actually critiquing, way too comfortable generalizing, high school level intellectualizing/generalizing, and immensely entertaining as a result. Keep at it because at least you’re trying, but for the love of your future, older selves who will have to live in a world where all these convos were had publicly, please look deeper and farther back when you’re researching a topic before an episode. Sharing 2 POVs on something that affects large amounts of people of various age, gender, ethnicity, economic status, etc, is not giving anyone (including yourselves) a good picture of an issue or topic. It’s intellectually lazy. The things you’re talking about don’t exist in a vacuum and you’re doing yourself (and us) a disservice by covering these issues, trends and people in such a slapdash manner…. Even if you’re not going for deep dives, you can do so much better. I’m rooting for you, but yeah, please try a little harder and please read some history and philosophy books because it’s going to help you contextualize all these uber contemporary topics you cover each episode.

Kibbles222Cute and compelling cultural analysisAs a welsh girly living in the US, Gina’s accent brings me so much peace and comfort, and the general banter in this podcast always cracks me up. Probably the first time I’ve heard the nuances of class disparities discussed with such attention to intersectionality on a podcast. These ladies remind me that you can fight the power even while being a silly goose and they are such an inspiration for all of us working class creatives out here grinding <3
-
izzy88&💛Surprisingly misogynistic for a feminist podcastReally bad takes in the Brat episode.
-
mrrp1998Can’t hear itThe hosts have interesting things to say when I can hear them, but mostly the hosts seem to be mumbling or they have terrible audio equipment. I’ve tried several episodes over the past few months and it seems to be a consistent issue. I’ll pop in every once in a while to see if they got a new mic, but I won’t be a weekly listener until they do.
-
laraw1125Just listen! If you’re going to listen to a podcast, make it this one! Finally women that talk about pop culture moments, beauty standards and more who aren’t afraid to state an opinion and give discourse. It’s definitely not a surface level podcast and it’s genuinely relatable. Love, love, love!
-
WilburesqueLovelyCan I get added to the group chat?
-
emmaaaaaandreIntellectual and accessible 👏Its wonderful that this podcast manages to provide accessible and intellectually stimulating discourse on pop culture topics. I appreciate the way that the hosts zoom out to the bigger picture of how these topics impact society offline. I’m really glad I found it, and I’m enjoying working my way through past episodes. :)
-
screw a nickname???Give it a shot!Fun podcast, pretty good takes. The hosts antagonize each other a lot which I find distracting, but I appreciate the cultural commentary overall.
-
apsteeleRefreshingly modern and groundedWhat a relief to find these two. Between their love of Poor Things and disdain for Saltburn, I knew I had found my people within my first few episodes. If you’re looking for a podcast discussing the culture everyone else is talking about with much more discernment, thought, and humor, these are the girls for you too.
-
alyakanandiInteresting but…I enjoy the topics discussed but because it’s purely audio and maybe because I’m American. The sound quality really makes it difficult for me to focus/ understand. Will return once the sound gets better.
-
Heyseuzhard truthsi agree with Ione’s take in the stanley cup episode. most consumer products are really selling you a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist. it’s all in the name of convenience, something that just accumulates and pollutes the earth when we could’ve lived a very functional existence without it. it’s also, however, difficult for me to balance this with wanting nice things. i think poverty is very traumatizing, and companies take advantage of that. once you have income, you want things that you saw advertised all the time that you couldn’t get before. you want ease, you want convenience. yes we should be above it, but i think it’s important to extend compassion because ultimately these companies invest millions into advertising in order to influence your purchases on a psychological level. great podcast, this was my first time listening but i’ll def keep tuning in
-
BugTrainerBetter mics pleaseeeeI really appreciate the banter and perspectives that I don’t always agree with but the sound quality sometimes makes it unlistenable
-
ninaaaarrrThe girlsWhen they say “the girls and the gays” these are the girls. Found this podcast via targeted Instagram reels and immediately loved the cultural commentary in a way that’s both organic and unpretentious but well thought and researched. Love this podcast, and I love it when you guys disagree ꈍ .̮ ꈍ <3
-
Totally derechosOne of my favorites!Gina and Ione are the best and I love their banter and perspectives! Listening feels like I’m having a chat with friends, thanks for making the show!
-
Parker21Ugh.Not art critics, just class warriors. Boring and vapid. And the audio is beyond bad.
-
spamgrierYes and, pleaseI love the topics covered, but the vibes get weird sometimes. I wish Ione would take an improv class and lean into silliness. Sometimes it feels like I’m eavesdropping on friends who don’t like each other. Less tucking each others yum! More delight plz
-
PoppgI LOVEThis podcast BUT please invest in some good sound equipment! There are so many things I cannot understand because the sound is fuzzy or someone laughs loudly and it blows out. Love the incite, obsessed with the cultural breakdowns - excited I found you all!
-
Pamiesincredible podcastOne of my favorites, love their thorough detail and insight
-
maura410Refreshing!!!!I love this podcast. I really enjoy the topics and discourse, and the way everything covered is so enjoyable and silly. It warms my heart that someone cares about speaking to the cr*p in the world that we deserve better than, but still sounds like sitting in on a conversation with great friends.
-
edeperObsessedThis show truly has the most insightful, thought provoking conversations about modern pop culture / internet culture. I really appreciate how they’re able to dissect the content we mindlessly consume and add nuance / perspective. Truly a show for the gorls🫶🏻
-
My-uhhWish I could give more starsI wait around every week for the polyester podcast :) so insightful with a side of silly. Xoxo
-
Gigi MarsalaRelatable and InclusiveI really appreciate the process behind this podcast. The duo makes learning about new topics and lingo less embarrassing for those of us who aren’t up to speed (ie: I’m brand new to Red Pilling! Thank yee!) There is a thoughtful breakdown in every episode, and I can’t wait to keep listening and supporting. Thank you and keep up the fab work!
-
mariathecloudAlways looking forward to itLove. They have a refreshing kind of cynicism, like they are skeptical of social campaigns and deeper subtext in what is usually considered futile and not taken seriously: fashion industry, pop culture celebrity, aesthetic social forces etc. Also easiest podcast to listen to auditory wise
-
sonia_saysUniqueLove the in-depth perspectives. Very unique and eye opening takes and connections.
-
MaMaMagooglaKardashian seriesReally appreciate what the sisters are doing here. However, the podcast would benefit from more editing and structure.
-
ginageanopolisgood topical discussion but rude adsit’s kinda like listening to a conversation with your girlfriends i love it, but the way the ads interrupt the video out of nowhere is so rude and jarring
-
charlotte van de waterthank you girlies!!💕i found this podcast a month or two ago, and have been listening to at least one episode every day sense and have recommended it to multiple friends!! I really appreciate your informed, nuanced and amusing takes on some of my favorite topics. The anti-intellectualism episodes was one of my favorite so far. I've always been interested in both pop-culture and feminism but considered the two antithetical, but i'm so happy that I found somewhere to learn more about pop culture through a feminist lens!! can't wait to listen to the new episodes. keep up the good work. 💕💕💕
-
AlanasaurousrexProud Poly PocketI adore this podcast and the gorgeous geniuses that host it. Need I say more? No? But I will. Love the context and nuance brought to cultural conversations happening online, irl and where the two meet.
-

-
ohbella89Such a nice vibe!Love this podcast because I feel like it’s one of the few these days to bridge the gap between feminism and capitalist critique. Remains feminist in nature without focusing only on identity politics at the expense of class consciousness. The hosts are edgy and clever without being obnoxiously provocative or outrage-baiting. A great filter for current events & celeb hijinks that doesn’t leave me exhausted or too pessimistic. Thanks so much!
-
aspiring bird-girlThank you Sleepover Club!I love this podcast! Especially enjoyed your recent ep on anti-intellectualism. It really has me thoughtfully considering how I interact with social media and media in general. There must be a balance between thinking critically and also just enjoying things and not getting harassed for it, right? We shall see 💙💙

McraycrayONE YEAR BABESI have officially been listening to this podcast every week for the last year on my walk to work! As a feminist, teacher, and avid consumer of pop culture, your hot takes and deconstruction of societal trends ALWAYS keeps me intrigued. I can not recommend this podcasts enough. KWNII❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥HALIMAA NAAWRRR!! Not playing favorites, obsessed w Ione and Eden’s perspectives ofc, but u will be missed! imqfho this show is absolutely IT—it’s litrly the only show for which I’ve notifications turned ON BABYYY. Love seeing what insidious patriarchal toxicity you tackle next, spoiler: it’s always impeccably timed and always takes my hot takes to an even hotter place. Thanks for all ur thorough work, pithy deliveries, and gorgeous socials. (insert whtvr Polyester stans call ourselves)(Pollys?)(GirlieWhirlies?) Xx Kev @knemelka P.s. finished Poor Little Sick Girls, easily my fav book of 2022!!
-
ihavebangsMakes my Gen Y heart skip a beatThis reminds me of the zines in the early 90s and I am absolutely in love with the discourse!
-
Susannah92Just throwing an extra 5 star review hereThanks for talking about THAT case with the nuance and compassion it deserves. I’m so tired of seeing « seemingly reasonable » people bombard me with misogynist victim blaming and Qanon-level delusion about the evidence presented, and any voice recontextualizing it is a breath of fresh air.
-
Smithaud92Love the hot takesThese two really dig in to the meat of various channels of living breathing adapting feminism. Content is current, relevant, and has me thinking from new angles.
