JadedLove313Compassion Towards HealingThe first time i listened to Black Girl Heals Podcast I was a bit overwhelmed because at the time I had left a toxic situationship.. I needed to listen to this podcast because I learned how to navigate my new journey of self love and happiness! So glad I came across this podcast! I encourage my friends and family to also listen.. its i new wayIt just helps me.I enjoy the topics but also the ease of receiving the message. As my hearing is not very strong, it helps. Thank you and keep educating us all

Zella🐝Love The RealnessI stumbled on this podcast after finding Therapy for Black Girls and I found myself loving how, for lack of a better word, unpolished it is. I love that she talks to you like you are someone she met out and about instead of it feeling like a production. She is real and open and allows herself to be human and make mistakes in real time. For some reason I find myself companioning certain episodes with my therapy to feel like I can receive the message. I’m sure that drives my therapist crazy but it helps me. I feel less alone with some of the subjects and her retreats are the only ones that I have considered going to even with my social anxiety. You are doing the work and I couldn’t be more grateful. Also, your son is adorable!!! I saw him on your YouTube the other day LOL.
-
hyfrmyahdobrevVulnerable NarcissistsThank you for this episode. I thought I was going crazy until you validated every single thing I went through. Thank you thank you thank you.
-
50 shades of sadnessI like it but…I really like when she gets to the point. Currently listening to #160 and it took like 35 min of ads and her talking about a completely unrelated topic to get to the point of the actual episode. Kinda hard to process her message with all of the jargon in between.
-
Me1037So gratefulI am so grateful for your strength and determination to get out of your relationship and have the courage to share it here exactly as you have. I feel so seen. Thank you for helping me heal.
-
Milkshake_Cookies101#221 episodeEither I didn’t understand or I don’t agree….either way, I appreciate this podcast. I take what I need and leave what I don’t. :)

Satisfied, more thanHere’s the beef!So many podcasts and self help books just scratch the surface. Not this one! The host is very intentional about getting to the root and going DEEP. Thank you, Shena!!! I find myself listening to certain episodes over and over again, just to hear someone finally say what I’ve been feeling all my life. Definitely recommend this podcast. Particularly for Black women who grew up in the church and were taught to repress their feelings in so many ways. The love avoidant and love deprivation discussions have been LIFE CHANGING and EYE OPENING. So grateful for this resource. UPDATE: Unfortunately, I had to downgrade my rating. I can’t take the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) ads anymore. At first I thought they were just a fluke or mistake by the producer, but I kept hearing them in each episode and they are so jarring to my soul and spirit. I wrote Sheena and I have yet to hear from her… yet the ads continue. I have undocumented friends. Their lives matter. And the horrors that they and their loved ones continue to experience, especially here in Texas at the hands of these modern day “slave catchers” is unfathomable. But go off. In honor of my loved ones, I can no longer support a show funded by the dang U.S. CBP.

LilililsPhenomenalFor those of us who can’t figure out “what’s wrong”. Shena gives voice to what is not working and offers relatable solutions with grace. She is a gifted healer and content is well put together. Not to detract, I can’t help but notice that some content creators come off a little callous when talking about ending contact with family and other relations. A She is most mindful, balanced and realistic while giving (tough) love.

Trixxie28Therapy in the form of a podcastI know podcasts do not replace traditional therapy but I have learned so much about myself since I’ve started listening. In the very first few podcasts, I learned exactly why I am the way that I am. Particularly the episodes on love avoidant/addict personalities meant a lot. It kinda helped me pinpoint exactly where in life I went into self preservation mode. This podcast gave me the push to seek therapy to unpack and heal. Thank you so much.

ZoraFloraForever gratefulI found BGH about a year ago when I was in a really low place, and I have since become an avid listener and a much more healed black girl. I even lucked up to find my therapist through the podcast’s resources. What I really love about BGH, is the depth Sheena goes into different familial and romantic relationship topics. The episodes are always packaged in love, grace and tactful realness, which are all thoroughly appreciated. This show is hands down UNMATCHED. I’m learning so much and try to share with everyone I can. Thank you so much Sheena!
-

KAAAAAAYYYYYYYKKAAAAAYYYYYWOW!!! Literally God Sent.I started my healing journey end of last year after going through it all and finallyyy wanting to heal and let go, my therapist recommended podcast instead of certain music while driving or if I didn’t want to read. Each episode there is a Lesson even if you have not went through it its still something to be aware or something to learn from. At the most recent episode I am listening to “Dealing with Betrayal …” I just had to pause and right a review and say THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I listen so some episodes over and over so that it resonates or just so that I can affirm what resonates.. You are the best Shena -Forever Listener
-
blickkkybAmazing!I absolutely love this podcast. I’m at a different season in my journey and this podcast has really opened up a lot of things I would’ve never been able to work through and process on my own being that I didn’t know where to start. I listen while I’m getting ready for work, after meditation, or even on a drive in the car.
-
S*y HShena is my therapistI don’t care what anyone says, Shena is my one & only therapist at the moment. No, we have never meet lol. But I feel so close to her & understood. She Is everything. I have been listening to her for almost a year and I’m so glad I came across her. She is the only podcast I keep up with because of how much she helps me and has helped me in the past. I can’t wait to follow her into whatever she does next. Im excited for her. She deserves everything she has built. Im so proud of her. Thank you Shena.
