EstherN99A Perfect Podcast for the Preparing Mom!I found this podcast when I started researching ways to help myself prepare for homebirth. It has been such a fountain of information, as well as advocation and awareness! Katelyn does such a beautiful job diving into each individual story and topic. I also appreciate how conscious she is of her listeners, wether it’s a mom who wants a “peace bubble” or one who tends to have little ears around! So excited to take all that I’ve learned and heard into my homebirth!

ExcitedForHomebirthAbsolutely one of my VERY top favorite podcasts!Katelyn is such a fantastic host. She has such a kind, selfless way about her. She really is so truly passionate about homebirth and this podcast has been an enormous inspiration for me as I listen to these episodes each week. The stories are so fascinating and encouraging, and Katelyn has such a great way of keeping the episodes flowing so wonderfully.

Lanni, Greener PosturesThe bestThe best birth podcast. Hands down. Because the host is such a good listener and leaves her ego aside. Just wonderful birth stories. Thank you.

Staci Jo S...Ep # 248 so GOODSeriously my favorite birth podcast!! Love the format how they share their whole story in chronological order so there’s not a ton of jumping around. The pain free birth podcast I love too but honestly like this format better. It really helped me understand the process of pregnancy and birth! Ep. 248 is definitely my favorite! When I want to have kids the idea of a wise woman that can “stay the heck back” is what I want for a midwife. You could say free birth with a midwife there to support me haha. This really helped me get over my fears of the pain and realize that there is so much more then having a baby -the transformation to mother and spiritual side of birth makes it so much bigger and way more empowering! Diving into my instincts that God put inside of me! Yikes you have have really changed my perspective Katelyn! Totally understand you are taking a brake but I HOPE YOU COME BACK! Luckily I still have the passed ep. To listen to! Love you. Also love that you are a believer in Jesus Christ and can’t wait to see you in heaven if I don’t see you in this life!

farmboymom91Best homebirth podcast!I can’t say enough amazing things about Katelyn & the Happy Homebirth Podcast. I’ve listened to this through three pregnancies and love these stories! Positive, peaceful and empowering. Katelyn is a joy to listen to - and I love how she shares her faith in beautiful ways in some of the episodes. Thank you for an amazing podcast!

LauraTeachesMusicStayAtHomeMomGreat Host and Great PodcastI just started listening to this one (been listening to the VBAC Link Podcast obsessively). My third baby was a VBA2C, and I’m going to have another. The host is so good, particularly because she does not interrupt or say meaningless phrases like, “I love that!” She also gives her brief wisdom at the end of each interview, which is nice. The sound is also very good quality, by the host especially. I do think the interviews are too long. Forty five minutes should provide plenty of time, especially with the lack of interruptions. There is a lot of random information that women provide that I feel should be edited out (like one woman going on about her house renovations)—too many anecdotes that are irrelevant. I also do not like hearing the husbands talk about the north story. It makes the wives giggly and nervous, and the men are just so ignorant of what women feel during this sacred process.

androo776As a husband, I am thankfulAs a husband, this podcast has really helped me engage with my wife’s pregnancy. It can be really easy to check out and forget that she’s pregnant but when I listen to these episodes, it reminds me of what’s coming in the next months. Seriously, thank you!

YcarrascoGreat Tool for Childbirth PreparationThis podcast was one of my favorite tools when preparing for the birth of my first child. I love a good birth story, and this show delivers! Pun intended :)

508admelin18My favorite podcastThe Happy Homebirth podcast quickly became my favorite podcast to listen to, and I listen to quite a few! Katelyn has captured an audience and played an integral roll in the (back to) Homebirth movement. I really appreciate that she gives the people she interviews autonomy to share their true experiences-the good, the bad, the raw, and the ugly-even if it might make listeners uncomfortable or question their own biases about birth and other related topics. Give it a listen! Dive into the archives for some incredible story sharing, thought provoking insights, laughter, tears of joy and of sorrow. How wonderful to capture the stories of hundreds of mothers as they step into one of the most profound experiences of their existence? Birth is the past, the present, and the future. For those of us that call ourselves “birth nerds”, you’ve found an excellent source of the best kind of education-stories and experiences of those who have gone before us. What a gift!

FuscokmResponse to Vhartell13It’s unlikely you’ll see this, but your review was extremely vague, and it’s probable that anyone reading it will believe that I, the host, made the statement you’ve quoted, which could not be further from the truth. If you’ve listened to several episodes, I would imagine you know my heart to serve the Lord and my belief in the sanctity of life. It would have meant the world to me to have received your thoughts in a private email, as I in fact had asked my editor to remove the comment— it was missed. Please remember that there are human hearts behind these podcasts— human hearts who have sacrificed much time to put together this free resource. If you see this and would be willing to remove your review, it would be so deeply appreciated. Love, Katelyn

kelly_lou_This podcast gave me confidenceI started listening to this podcast when I was about halfway through my first pregnancy (and only so far) and after listening to ONE episode I reached out to Katelyn to talk about joining her very first Homebirth Collective. Finding this podcast changed the entire trajectory of my pregnancy/birth. I had been looking into homebirth/midwives but it was honestly a little daunting. Hearing stories from so many women helped build my own confidence that I too could do it! I am so very thankful for this podcast. HIGHLY recommend!

1233556kariFear erasedThank you Happy Homebirth! I just gave birth a few weeks ago and my journey from the very beginning of this pregnancy has brought about a lot of uncertainty and suffering in a lot of ways. I never in a million years thought I would be able to have a homebirth because of my tendencies towards fear and anxiety but with the help of your podcast I was able to completely erase those fears and actually look forward to giving birth. This was my third birth but my first non Induced or medicated birth and it was by far the best and most powerful experience and I attribute most of it to listening to your positive and informative episodes. Thank you so much!

vhartell13Loved it until…“Roe v Wade got overturned and I was raging. I didn’t have rights as a pregnant woman” yeah, you don’t have the right to kill another person. Really liked the podcast until that. Not applicable to home north at all and in all honesty will turn off the majority of your audience. Something to be edited out but I’m unsubscribing.

Rachael CurryFavorite podcast of all time!I was so encouraged listening to all the moms share their stories while I was preparing for the birth of my son. It drew me closer to the Lord and filled me with HOPE in a truly challenging season. Thank you so so SO much.

Bette JaneIndispensableAfter my dad’s sudden death this year, I didn’t know how to bring my attention to my pregnancy and upcoming birth. I read HypnoBirthing again, but, unlike my first pregnancy, it didn’t sharpen my vision or clarify my birthing goals. Listening to this podcast has given me specific ways to manage the pain and guilt of my dad’s death — on top of helping me prepare to give life. Happy Homebirth is nuanced storytelling at its best, with the exception of the religiousness (it doesn’t resonate with me and tends to fluff over the honest experiences, though I respect that culturally it’s where many people enter the topic). I’m so thankful for the host and her guests for sharing their birth stories, for uplifting each of us as we endeavor to become the best individuals and parents we can be.
-
Midwife_MelissaEnjoying This Podcast! As a seasoned midwife, I find this podcast so helpful for me to recommend to clients that are looking into homebirth and want to know even more! Katelyn shares such amazing stories and has the most incredible guests, I love that she has created a community to further discuss homebirths!

Sammmmmmi23456A key source that lead to my Happy HomebirthThank you Katelyn for foraging truth about the safety, superiority and reality of giving birth at home. Listening to the stories of other women gave me the encouragement and insight on how to prepare for having an amazing birth at home after a not so great hospital birth. I learned about the art of relaxing, being in tune with my inner and physical self and having an overall education about birth. My happy Homebirth in turn lead to amazing postpartum. I hope to one day share my stories with your listeners so I can stoke the fire of the power of women in childbearing and motherhood.

FoulkFamDo the home birth! This podcast has been extremely valuable on my journey to my first home birth with my second daughter. After our first birth being medicated in the hospital, this podcast helped me be able to share valuable information with my husband and to have a constant stream of positive birth stories to listen to. We recently went through our birth and had the most beautiful experience. All future births will be at home.

kknapp777Loving this podcastI had a still birth in 2021 and the experience I had was so bad at the hospital. I was seeking Homebirth but out baby girl had a genetic abnormality so I was ruled out of my midwife’s care as high risk. It was a horrifying experience but God has been so faithful to heal those wounds. I found out November of 2022 that we are expecting and knew right away I wanted to pursue Homebirth. I’m 29 weeks now and am so so so excited and ready for our baby boy to arrive. This podcast has been such an encouragement as I get closer that I am not alone and many women have gone before me to experience the God glorifying process of birth. Thank you so much for all you share and desire for your listeners. Update: has my baby boy at home July 30th 💙

Edna BeilerEmpowering and educationalThe Happy Homebirth podcast provided the perfect stories for me to dive into to help prepare me for my own homebirth. I learned so much, and became so empowered, encouraged, and educated. This podcast was one of several core resources that set me up for my own dream homebirth. I love how open and real Kaitlyn and her guests are about Faith and the supernatural miracle of birth. Something that was inspired from the podcast, and that impacted me the most in giving birth was realizing that God wants me to be specific with my desires concerning birth. I can tell him what I desire in it and what I’m believing for. I can meditate on that and imagine it in a way that helps my mind and heart really believe it. I was able to go into labor with a full faith in God and believing that in this too, he would perform exceedingly abundantly above and beyond anything I could ask or imagine, and it truly was so. Thank you Kaitlyn and guests for the incredible gift you are giving to women.

Hannahs328EmpoweringI am a first time mom just five weeks away from my estimated due date. I started listening to this podcast about a week after I found out I was pregnant and it has been a game changer. Listening to the stories of all these mamas has definitely empowered me in a time where I felt I stood alone in my decision to do a homebirth, as it was the path I wanted from the beginning. What I love about this podcast is how many different real stories you hear whether it being about a hospital birth, birth center or homebirth. My confidence has only grown from listening to this and I truly feel a sense of community around natural parenting and homebirth. Love this and how Katelyn educates the audience from her experience and always in a nonjudgmental way. Will always listen and share with others! :)

jude and lennons mommyLOVE LOVE LOVE this podcast!!I started listening to this podcast at the beginning of my pregnancy when I had decided to commit to a homebirth, I was still a little apprehensive about having a homebirth and that’s why I’m so so happy I found the happy homebirth podcast. I started listening everyday sometimes getting two episodes in a day, I would listen while I cleaned the kitchen so my kitchen was always clean because I looked forward to hearing all the beautiful, empowering stories of other woman’s birth stories. I learned so much and with each episode, home birth was the new normal for me and I grew more and more confident and excited for my homebirth. My labor ended up being super fast and furious ( only 45 minutes long) my husband and I ended up delivering our baby girl on our own because she beat the midwife’s. I wasn’t scared at all and I know that was because of prayer and what I had learned listening to the happy homebirth podcast.I was confident and I knew exactly what was happening with my body and how to deliver my baby because I heard other woman tell similar stories. I’m so thankful for this podcast because my experience could have been a traumatic experience if I didn’t prepare myself like I did.

Kenna_K1Love Love LoveI grew up in a family where hospital births are absolutely the norm. I am still a few years off from having children, but have been absolutely swayed by this podcast and know that homebirth is the absolute best decision for me and my future babies. Katelyn brings so many amazing perspectives, information, and stories to this podcast. I always leave learning more and wanting to learn even more. I broached the subject of homebirth with my husband yesterday and he replied, "Does that mean I have to deliver the baby?" Naturally, he is listening to Happy Homebirth as well now and learning how completely safe and normal it truly is ;)
-
emloveshomebirthAbsolutely love!I heard about the podcast from Farmhouse on Boone YouTube channel so I started listening. And I love this show! Turns out I really enjoy listening to positive birth stories almost as much as telling my own. While I had my birth is a free standing birth center and it was wonderful, this podcast has made me want to have a home birth for our next one. It is so fun to hear other women talk about things I can relate to and how much of a difference having a home birth has made on their life. This podcast makes me excited about homebirth!
-
jen__vBest podcast!I have listened to almost all these episodes! I only have 25 left to go. I absolutely love Katelyn and her faith in the Lord and her belief that physiological birth works! Thank you so much for sharing these birth stories. I look forward to each episode! ❤️❤️❤️
-
leishabrookeAmazing! The way Katelyn hosts this podcast is incredibly empowering and so encouraging! The narrative around birth being a fearful experience needs to be questioned and this podcast will make a difference for so many mamas. Can’t wait to have another homebirth as I listen to these stories.
-
Mrs. Rae AnneGrateful and encouraged!!This podcast has been getting me THROUGH! I’m a first time mama 22 weeks along with our precious little girl. We decided a home birth was our best option for delivery even before we conceived but as soon as it was real the doubts and insecurities came up. My wonderful midwife and THIS PODCAST has helped me feel so empowered, inspired, and sure of my choice. I’ve learned so much about what to expect and how to surrender to what’s going to happen! You’ll find me every day with this playing in my ears, filling my husband in on everything I learn, sharing all my favorite episodes with my mom…I’m so grateful and pumped! Praise the Lord for this wonderful resource!
-
DftgbGreat stories and info even if you’re not homebirthingI adore this pod. I’ve learned so much about birth, women, and myself. I’ve finally been able to accept the trauma I’ve had in all my births and postpartum times. Waiting for my 4th child and I hope that from the new knowledge I have I can be a better advocate for myself. I don’t just have to go with the flow. I can go with what my gut instinct says instead. Thanks K.F. For taking time for the podcast.
-
Rsteiner17Informative & empowering!I highly recommend this podcast for anyone preparing to have a Homebirth. I started listening early in my pregnancy and not only did every episode reaffirm my decision to have a Homebirth, the episodes provided great insight to the many different unique ways labor and birth can progress. I felt extremely empowered listening to every woman’s birth experience and know that filling my mind with them helped me to achieve my beautiful Homebirth. Thank you, Katelyn, for all that you do!

DeirdreAnneAgnes4Planning a homebirth because of this show!I discovered this podcast when I was first dating my now husband. I would listen to it multiple times a week and I would educate my now husband about everything I was learning. We got married last summer and are now expecting our first baby. We both knew we wanted a homebirth because of everything we learned, and we’re having a fantastic experience with our midwife! Thank you, Katelyn, for this amazing resource. I learn so much and it also is encouraging and inspiring as I prepare to welcome my baby into the world at home this summer. May God reward you!
-
emmawoodardLove it!I loved binge listening to this podcast in preparation for our happy home-birth this past September! My husband enjoyed many of the episodes as well :)
-
ItsMeJanelleSO Encouraging! As a 20 year old, first time home birthing mom, I’m also the first one in generations to have a Homebirth in my family. Having this amazing resource for positive home birth stories has been SO encouraging and empowering, and it has been so helpful in getting myself in the right headspace to have a calm, peaceful birth in a few weeks. I would highly recommend this podcast to any woman who is considering a home birth, or just looking for a resource for positive and joyful birth stories ❤️
-
cylee-suePrepared this FTM for her HBI LOVE this podcast so much! I binged all the episodes while pregnant and preparing for my first birth at home. I had a very hard labor, which if I had not listened to other stories and knew that first labors are hard and what I experienced was common, I think I wouldn’t be able to look back on our birth in a positive light like I do now. I’m 4 weeks PP and still listening to the podcast and can’t wait to have another home birth one day. Keep sharing stories, it is so helpful to other moms.
-
cgxgcgLOVE THIS PODCAST!!I birthed my first (daughter) at home a year ago, and though I’ve always been super interested in birth, since my own homebirth I have become so passionate about learning, educating, and empowering other mamas on their journeys. I can listen to episode after episode of this podcast! I recommend it to all women, pregnant or not. It’s so educational and empowering!!

Jenny J:)Empowering, Resourceful, BeautifulI’ve been listening to this podcast pretty much for the entirety of this pregnancy! With baby girls arrival in the next 2 months or so, I’ve found this podcast to be a comfort and resourceful tool to help me think outside the box with birth and consider more for my future birth. As someone who had a unmedicated water birth with my first, I know birth talk- but there is always room for growth and more knowledge. This podcast does an amazing job at displaying the realities of birth while still being in control. It helps challenge your mindset while supporting you and teaching you how to stand up for you and baby. I’ve loved getting to know Katliyn through the podcast (and the other mommas), and what I’ve gained will forever be carried with me as baby girl arrives and beyond. Thankful for this kind of community! ♥️

stegekLove this podcast so much!I’m so addicted to this podcast. I just started listening a couple months ago and have already listened to most of the episodes. Love hearing about birth.

BrielyjoyParamount in my birth prepThis podcast was paramount in the preparation for my first birth (which was so sacred dispute several hiccups)! Katelyn is such a remarkable host she is an attentive listener, good question asker, and is so knowledgeable yet humble. Not only did it help me have a positive mindset for my birth but it also taught me so much, and set me up to feel so empowered about my body and options! I send it to all my friends who are pregnant, thinking of trying, or have babies. Basically I send it to everyone! 11 out of 10 recommend

Mamalinneababybearsx2Powerful birth preparation toolI am currently 17 weeks pregnant with my 4th baby and planning my first homebirth. My first 2 babies were hospital epidural births, and my third birth was an unmedicated “stop & drop” at the hospital. I have learned by experience the power of education and preparation in birth and it’s a huge priority for me as I get ready for this 4th birth- my last baby but first homebirth. I recently discovered this podcast and have already listened to many of the birth story interviews and find them so helpful. I love that this is a place where Jesus and faith is included in nearly every story, it makes them that much more uplifting and powerful!

Maryellen48Wealth of Enpowering InformationKatelyn, thank you for this podcast! I’ve listened regularly for about a year and a half and just delivered my second baby 8 days past due date with a spontaneous vaginal birth with no induction, interventions, or medications. I owe it to the information and contagious passion of this podcast. I will disclose that I was planning a hospital delivery again this time, due to the fact that I live in such a remote area in the mountains and my husband is not comfortable being so far from a hospital if anything went wrong. However, these home birth stories gave me confidence to request the birth that I wanted, and my hospital midwives were (thankfully) agreeable and on board. I think the most valuable things that stuck with me was the many women who shared that they wished they would have relaxed during the night when contractions came on. I was able to do that from 11pm-4am and still make it to the hospital on time at 6:30am and have my baby 4 hours later. My nurse told me after the birth that I would be a “great candidate for a Homebirth” by the way I was able to manage the waves and have the baby by leaning into my natural urges of when to push and not push. I felt sooo proud to hear that because I DO desire a home birth for sure, and since it may not ever be in the cards for me, I secretly can wish that the next might be born in the car on the way to the hospital. I owe so much of my confidence in my body and it’s ability to naturally give birth to this show! Thank you for sharing all these wonderful stories!

mckaylakennardFirst home birth!I absolutely love this podcast and have been binge listening since i discovered it a few weeks ago. I am currently 22 weeks pregnant and planning my first home birth. I’ve been listening to this podcast while working, driving, and setting up my birth-space! It is so nice to listen to real birth stories and gain confidence and knowledge by doing so! I have learned of a few books, and many different coping mechanisms through this podcast. I highly recommend!
-
alexismamaof4EmpoweringThis podcast helped me prepare SO much for my home birth! I chose the home birth route at 26 weeks with my most recent baby and this podcast was recommended to me by a friend. It helped me feel so empowered and capable of birthing my baby the way I felt was best. My baby is now 1 month old and I find myself reminiscing on my birth experience every single day! She was born only an hour and 20 minutes after labor started and I ended up having an unintentional unassisted birth with her. Luckily my midwife was on her way but after hearing stories similar to mine, I felt completely comfortable birthing her myself! Thank you Katelyn for helping share these stories!
-
Girl_Mamax5THANK YOU!This podcast has been such a gift during my fifth pregnancy. It has finally given me the confidence and encouragement to plan the home birth I have always wanted. After 4 hospital births, I am BEYOND excited to have a natural birth with a midwife in the comfort of my own home and with my sweet kiddos around. THANK YOU for sharing such positive and uplifting birth stories. <3
-
AsherArnoldNot a parent, but LOVE this podcastI started listening to this podcast following my friend telling me she was having a homebirth. I was initially (like so many are) terrified of birth in general and couldn’t imagine my beloved friend’s choice being safe. But, I owed it to her to learn about it before airing my concerns. Listening to these Happy Homebirth stories as well as the Homebirth Midwife Podcast, I was completely converted into a homebirth nerd. My friend’s healthy, happy homebirth baby is now one. I cannot imagine having never encountered this community. Thank you for sharing these stories so people like my friend and I can make empowered decisions about how we want to give birth.
-
Sugg88A gem, even after you’ve given birth!I didn’t find this podcast until after I had had my 4th baby (my first home birth), but I’ve been consistently listening almost every week since! It has grown my appreciation for and memory of our home birth with each episode!! Thank you so much Katelyn for all that you do to get this podcast out there!! It truly wants to make me do it again!!
-
creng12Empowering and amazingSo happy I found this podcast. Katelyn you are a phenomenal host. I love the variety of topics covered in this show, from birth stories to things that make me reflect on my own thoughts and actions in regards to all things baby. Every episode is so thoughtful and valuable and you treat all your guests with such compassion and empathy. Your heart for moms is so big and I know you’ve empowered so many women through this show. I am a first time mom, I found this show about halfway through my pregnancy and just had my happy home birth last week. I thank you deeply for all the love and care you put into this show and beyond. I don’t know anyone else personally who has had a homebirth and this show helped me gain the confidence I lacked for my birthing choices. I am so grateful for you Katelyn and wish we could be friends in real life!
-
mamabearrySlightly obsessedI have this podcast to thank for my incredible first birth and am still addicted to listening.
-
a.leigh27What an incredible podcast!I am SO thankful for this podcast! I’ve been listening for about the past year and have learned so much from all the different stories. My husband and I just found out I am pregnant with our first and are planning a home birth. I couldn’t be more thankful for everything I’ve learned and the confidence I have going into my first pregnancy and that I will hopefully never have to experience the trauma and frustration many first time moms experience during a hospital birth. I am genuinely excited to give birth because I understand the beauty of the process and how God designed women's bodies to function. This podcast was the gateway to me gaining so much education and empowerment around pregnancy and birth!
-
MaryP1212Necessary Listen for Any Mother or Mother-to-BeI love this podcast so much. I have not had my Homebirth yet, but I know already that this podcast has done so much for me in preparing myself for this life changing moment. This is my first birth and being able to hear about birth from so many different mothers has made me feel so much more secure about having my first birth, at home. I love how informative, gentle, and inclusive this podcast is. I love that it includes so many great resources outside of the podcast in the episodes. The knowledge and perspective that Katelyn shares on this podcast is unmatched anywhere that I have found. Thanks Katelyn, for creating this amazing space where mothers can not only work through their own fears and hesitations, but also listen to others and know they aren’t alone!
-
handmaidbirthPowerful, informative, and just might increase your family size...*Update since initial review* Did end up giving birth just one more time. This last baby was also born at home this time before the midwife even arrived😅 Warning: this podcast has a high likelihood of increasing your desire to give birth “just one more time”. I’ve been a doula for 8 years and 4 of my 6 children were born at home. I love the encouragement, the variety of stories, and the beauty, knowledge, and strength shared. Keep up the wonderful show!
