    Good but…..
I have been an aloha life listener for years and I used to be a patreon (until the group started posting LGBBQ+ garbage on Facebook). I recently listened to the “Top 3 on all islands” episode and was disappointed in your Kauai segment about helicopters. The helicopters are safe. The pilots are safe. 100%. It’s the FAA and the Kauai government who have failed to do their job in support of the charters. I know this because my dad was the Safari Pilot who died on Dec 26, 2019. All seven people died on the flight. It was the FAA who failed to provide what the pilots need while on that side of the island (where the weather shifts fast). The FAA failed so epically we tried filing a lawsuit against them but no one wanted to “go against the government”. Please do more research before saying something like the flights are unsafe. I knew a lot of the pilots. They aren’t unsafe. Do better. Lost a lister today.

    This is my favorite podcast
I desperately wish I was living in Hawaii, but since I can’t I just live vicariously through Amanda and Wayde. I wait for each podcast and feel like I’m listening to my friends over a beer every time I hear a new one. These podcasts seriously get me through winter every year. Keep up the good stuff!

    Outstanding Podcast
Although I began listening while planning a future visit to Hawaii, I have gained so much more than I could have hoped. My trip may or may not ever happen, but I am learning to “live aloha” right here in Florida. I love the Hawaiian culture and with each podcast I learn so much about the culture, history and music. We should all strive to Live Aloha everyday in everything we do.

    Fabulous
This podcast is educational, inviting, and delightful. The hosts promote tourism to Hawaii done the right way—both how to be respectful and how to enjoy your time there—as well as discuss the history of the islands, the culture, and general life on the islands. It’s great. Give it a listen if you want to learn more about Hawaii or have a trip planned.

    Aloha!
These two host could do a podcast about anything and I would listen and love it! I started listening for tips on an upcoming visit to Oahu, yet what I have found is that these two give tips and inspiration for life. I will be listening to this podcast long after I return and do my best to live the aloha life! Thank you so much Poor man and Dr Aloha!

    Potentially good
Like, umm, and they talk over each other constantly. The information is good, but the presentation is sloppy in my opinion.

The next best thing to being in Hawaii
is listening to Wayde’s and Amanda’s Living the Aloha Life, the ultimate Hawaiian podcast! You can tell they put their heart and soul into each episode, and succeed in capturing the Aloha spirit with great chemistry, humor, and knowledge. Personal firsthand accounts of the good, bad, ugly and beauty of the island experience. Usually each episode is devoted to a deep dive into one related topic: moving there, vacationing, hiking, food, music, history, ecology, or a focus on one island. These experts inform, entertain, and capture the island vibe.

    THE BEST HAWAII PODCAST AROUND!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PODCAST! Amanda and Wayde are so much fun in every episode, no matter what the topic. They make it so personal and special, which keeps you coming back for more. Every episode is at least an hour full of sooo much info that is digestible and fun to listen to! They even include Hawaiian music in the breaks, which I personally love to hear. If you are planning a trip, a move or just dreaming about Hawaii I recommend you go back and look at all the different topics that will help you get the most out of Hawaii! Thank you both for all of the sweat and tears you put into each episode, it truly teleports me back to the island every time I get to hear a new episode! Love you guys!

    Good content until…
Seems like a sweet guy who genuinely loves Hawaii and his cohost is delightful. Too bad he’s a J6 weirdo who is spreading vaccination disinformation. He also seems to blame all his personal and business problems on politics. His solution to his various problems seems to be to recreate a Jonestown situation, living off the grid. Grab the kool-aid, kids.

Informative, fun, real and full of Aloha!
I searched high and low for podcasts, websites, etc. that would give me real, practical information about life in Hawaii but THIS podcast is so much more. (There’s nothing else out there like it.) I have listened to a few them so many times, I actually have them memorized. The humor, Aloha Spirit, and expansive knowledge of this podcast has literally brightened my days—as I toil away here on the mainland biding my time before we move to Oahu. I rely on these podcasts so much that I had to become a patron. For me, this podcast isn’t just information, it’s art. If you love Hawaii, miss Hawaii or what to know anything about Hawaii, give them a listen, you’ll be transported. Once you’re hooked, become a patron! Aloha!

It’s true…this podcast has the Aloha spirit
Started listening to this podcast after a vacation to the island of Hawaii. Love the locals insight!

    Informative and Entertaining
This podcast is packed with information about Hawaii. Amanda and Wayde are authentic hosts who are engaging, funny and serious - when they need to be. They definitely keep it real. During the first part of the show they discuss current events and the second part of the show is dedicated to a single topic. I’ve learned so much about Hawaii, from the history of Hawaii to the COVID situation to the best beaches to visit to reasons not to move to Hawaii and more (seriously, too many topics to list!) Highly recommend!

    The real Hawaii
If you’re planning to move or visit Hawaii and you want to know more than just the average tourist, this Podcast is a must! You are not going to get a sugar coated version about how amazing and beautiful Hawaii is, you are going to hear the truth. From real people, working, surviving and just living Aloha here in Paradise. Yes Hawaii is amazing and beautiful, but its so much more and one needs to go with all 3 eyes wide open. We discovered the Podcast while looking for the realities about moving to Hawaii and we were hooked. We learned so much about moving here, about life here, about how to survive here. Definitely worth it to become a member so you can hear all the Podcasts. I’ve gone back and started listening to them all from the beginning, glad you found Amanda, she definitely compliments you the best.

Wayde and Amanda put on an amazing podcast. Very informative and entertaining at the same time. I started listening about a year ago when I was considering moving to the islands. I learned so much from this podcast and I’m now a resident of Oahu! I’m happy to call Wayde and Amanda my good friends now. I highly suggest becoming a patreon and joint our Ohana! Mahalo

    Mahalo for the podcast!!!
Wayde and Amanda, I really appreciate everything you two do for us listening. Living in the middle of west Texas is about as opposite from tropical as you can get. Listening to the podcast helps bring a little bit of island vibes to my day. Also like hearing your local news and gripes..... let’s me live vicariously through you guys. I’ll never be able to live there but makes it fun to dream! These two want the best for Hawaii and it’s native people. They’re working hard to clean it up and educate people on the all of Hawaii’s issues. Keep it up! Mahalo Steven

Simply the BEST Podcast on Hawaii!
Before Wayde & Amanda I never even heard about Living the Aloha Life...Now I know exactly what it’s all about! When listening to the Poor man & Dr. Aloha, may it be in your car in traffic or working on your truck in the garage or having a beer on the sofa, I feel these two are best friends just talking story to each other and myself. I’m sure many of the Patrons and fans feel the same way. These two are fun, loving, informative and honest. They tell you how it is in Hawaii...The great, the good, the bad...and yes...the ugly, but I don’t think any of us who listen would want it any other way! Mahalo to you two for bringing Hawaii closer home and in my heart...I got that Aloha Spirit guys!

    Aloha, y’all
I have been binge listening (yes, it’s a thing) to this podcast for a few months now, I cannot get enough! My husband and I are frequent travelers to Kaua’i with intention to move there as soon as is feasible. This podcast has opened my eyes to the realities of living in Hawai’i and makes me feel more prepared for the move, as well as more connected to the islands. We truly pine for our “home away from home” while we are on the Mainland, so listening to this podcast and staying up to date with the news and the goings on really makes me feel like I’m not quite so disconnected. I am a proud Patreon member supporting this podcast, and all I can say is please please y’all, support this podcast if you are listening for free and love it! We all want to hear more from Wayde and Amanda, and becoming a Patron of the show is how we can make that happen! Don’t think, just do it. Great job, guys!!

    Fun podcast!
Awesome podcast! Listening brings me back to the islands from Oklahoma. Just one question... how could you put Just Go With It on the B list for Hawaii movies?! Filmed at an awesome Maui resort and so many shots of great areas on the island. Again, keep it up! Love it!

    Shooots!!!
Do you crave a Hawaii podcast with a straight laced host reading you exactly what you can find from a simple internet search??? Told only about the happy side of Hawaiian life and the generic spots to see like every other list in the virtual realm??? Well this isn’t the podcast for you, go find the one put on by the states tourism department!!! “Living The Aloha Life" will take you far from the normal cookie cutter BS that’s shoved down everyone’s throat... Open your ears, expand your mind to a whole new world, full of truths and facts, sometimes booze, chocolate and coffee, about what it’s really like to both live and visit Hawai’i... Wayde “Poorman" provides his listeners with an abundance of knowledge to make your trip, move or even just interest in Hawai’i ascend further up your personal volcano... The many guests and patrons, as well as “Dr. Aloha” Amanda, only keep that ascension progressing... Great mixture of absurdity and information is on point just waiting for you to subscribe, join the tribe and live the aloha life!!! SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTSSSS!!!

2This is hands down the best Hawaii podcast out there, I subscribe to all of the ones out there, and listen to all of them, but I find myself waiting at the end of every week for the next new episode to come on for this podcast. Wayde and Amanda are awesome, they have great chemistry together, and love Amanda as a new co-host, keeping Wayde in check every once in a while when things get off topic. I’ve been a fan of a Wayde since he had his other old podcast, listening for the past 4 years, and every episode gets better and better. The topics are super informative and never dull, and he takes requests on the topics people want. If you listen to his free podcasts, please consider donating to Patreon and becoming a member, this isn’t like other podcasts where it’s a giant commercial for their business, though I’d wouldn’t mind if he advertised his Jeep business, or had sponsors. I’d like to see him get to the point of having a daily podcast, it’s my 90 minute getaway once a week dreaming about being in Hawaii. -Jay from NYC

Re-Review now that Dr Aloha is co-host
Have been a listener and follower of Waydes since Lucky We Live and his YouTube vids. You always get the truth from this man and his passion for the Hawai’i is palpable. Been hard following him as he kept getting shafted from one co-host to another and now we finally get the co-host we needed. Dr Aloha is the perfect balance to Wayde. Her calming positive voice is the perfect foil to Wayde’s Bostonian accented voice. Nothing better than having a few podcast to binge on while driving, chilling or working out. Keep up the great work guys.

    Great show
I have listened to Wayde’s other podcast a couple of years ago and followed him on to this one. Great source of information but more so makes me feel like I am back in Hawaii. I love the updates on current events as well as the incorporation of genuine Hawaiian music. Great show!

    Perfect !!
Very few Hawaii related podcasts exist and as a frequent traveler to the islands I like having access to information on them. I have never contacted a podcast and actually had someone respond. Wayde is honest and genuine. Those of this podcast genuinely love Hawaii. It’s informative and fun. Become a Patreon if you can do these great people can keep on keeping on. Support 808 cleanups too!! Great people and great podcast!!

The BEST Hawaii-oriented podcast available right now!
There are surprisingly few podcasts about Hawaii available online. LTAL has been one of the best and most consistently-produced ones in the last couple years. It is Patreon-supported so many episodes are not actually available for free but to me it's totally worth it to throw a couple bucks to Wayde & his guests monthly to get them all! This is just the new podcast economy. But, there's plenty of full episodes that they post up for free to get a good taste of the show. In comparison to other shows, it doesn't consistently sound like a high-pressure sales pitch for associated businesses! This show is more oriented to the 18+ listener but the show involves adults discussing topics on a level presumably to other adults like local Hawaii politics, real estate, travel, music, race relations, ecology, wealth inequity, personal responsibility, cultural quirks, etc. Generally the language is pretty tame and likely no worse than than a kid hears from their peers and even their parents at times. If the subject gets a little edgy, they do make an attempt to warn listeners beforehand but because they're not specifically catering to children don't expect them to squelch their personalities to suit YOUR preferences. That's YOUR responsibility to police, not the show's hosts! Often hilarious and entertaining, always insightful & informative, it's a great place to go to and experience chatter with a long term local who's trying to keep Hawaii a place you want to visit/live. It's honestly as good as you're going to find online and competitors would find it extremely hard to compete with the varied topics, quality production as well as the long-format of the show often going for an hour & half. LTAL is a MUST listen for those who love all things Hawaii but definitely want the unvarnished truth about the price for paradise!!!

    Solid HI info
Good solid information from a long term local. Heck even the Hawaiians trust the guy. The shows on music are an impressive collection not found elsewhere. Worth a listen.

    Paradise in a Podcast
This has to be the best Podcast on Hawaii out there when it comes to the aloha lifestyle, moving and vacationing to Hawaii. I have always loved Hawaii and would love to move there, but for now I count my blessings by visiting every other year. After going on an awesome Hawaii Jeep Tour with Wayde we just clicked and became friends. Being one of the podcast hosts, Wayde introduced me to the show while on tour. I haven't stopped listening and learning since I got homes and became a Patron. This guy runs the largest volunteer based environmental nonprofit in Hawaii as well, which to me just confirms he's a genuine guy who wants to protect and save Hawaii. If I move to Hawaii one day this podcast is providing me with good honest advice and a local friend for life. This podcast is in your face, honest, real and funny. It's inspirational knowing Wayde came from the other side of the world and has made a name for himself in Hawaii over the last 20 plus years. It gives us all hope that we as well can make ti in Paradise. Mahalo Wayde!

    Best Podcast about Hawaii
For anyone living in Hawaii or considering traveling or moving there, this podcast is an absolute blessing. Wade does an amazing job getting out weekly podcast is always informative and entertaining to listen to. Without having met me and my wife, Wade devoted a podcast to our journey in moving to Hawaii from Connecticut. He shared all his wisdom in having done essentially the same move and also offered to help us find an apartment as well as take us on a tour. I don't know any other podcasts that treats their listeners like Ohana (family). I hope this podcast continues on and grows in Patrons while continuing to provide us with smiles and insights each week. Mahalo for all that you guys do! Shoooots!

    The best!!!
Wayde is the best! Very knowledgeable about Hawaii - what it means to live in paradise and what it takes to move there! The podcast is awesome in so many ways! You’ll laugh and learn a lot! Recommend 1000%

    Bummer
Was super excited when I found this podcast. Was super disappointed when I listened to my first episode, about moving to Hawaii. Was hoping for some insights from a local host but instead got a transplanted Bostonian who loves to laugh incessantly at his own jokes and never misses a chance to drop the f-bomb. He even got his guests into the act. I realize a podcast liberates participants to use whatever off color language they wish but how about showing a little class? This 2 hour segment could have been half as long and with a little preparation a lot more interesting.

    Realities of moving to Hawaii
Aloha! I loved listening to this podcast! I have wanted to live in Kauai since my first visit to the island. It was the most magical experience I’ve ever had! I love the culture and the history of the islands and I feel very connected to Kauai, specifically. The people my husband and I met are amazing and we are still in touch with some of them. It’s literally paradise on Earth!

    Passionate, informative, and hilarious podcast
I’m so drawn to this podcast for many reasons, but the main one is that Wayde and Mike not only clearly are very passionate about Hawaii, but more importantly their gratitude for having the opportunity to live in HI shines through in each and every episode. They’re both kama’aiana who have lived in HI for many years; yet, even after all this time, it’s obvious they don’t take it for granted. You’ll continuously hear them talk about how blessed they are to be living the aloha life in HI, and their gratitude is also evident in how they hard they work to give back, whether it’s through creating this podcast to educate others about Hawaii, helping people move to HI, or through nonprofit/volunteer work. No one eludes more aloha spirit than these two guys..they truly value the people, culture, aina, and the mana of Hawaiian islands. For me, that’s what makes this podcast so special. Wayde and Mike also have so much knowledge about Hawaii, which is apparent by how in -depth they go into their podcast topics. Although it’s obvious they would never live anywhere else, they don’t sugar-coat the price of living in paradise. They are very realistic about the problems that come along with living in HI, which is something one might not be aware of as a tourist. When you couple their extensive knowledge with their humor and fun personalities, there’s no way not to love this podcast! I have learned so much about Hawaii from listening to them, and at the same time, they also have me laughing throughout the shows. They’re fun, personable, and easy to listen to, which has a way of drawing me in. If you share their love and passion for Hawaii and want to learn all about living the aloha life, there is no better podcast out there!!
