MuraliKrThe best wine podcast, and a fantastic one independent of the topic!Ok, what do you want from a wine podcast? TLDR: whatever it may be, you will find it in Eat Sleep Wine Repeat. Most wine podcasts are informative. In fact, the main driver of the topic of wine is to educate. The world of wine is so wide and deep that one could talk endlessly about it. But that’s the problem — some wine podcasts become a dragging drone of facts. Not Janina. For sure, she will educate you. You will learn all the facets of wine. Not just the characteristics of specific wines, but history, geography, geology, economics, and even culture. Covering all this could result in dry lecture, but Janina is such a talented presenter that she effortlessly weaves all these facts into the larger story she is telling about wine. Some wine podcasts are entertaining. But rarely. Most that try to be entertaining end up being gimmicky. Often these cannot be sustained for long as the act becomes repetitive. Not Janina. Janina is a natural communicator. Her fluid presentation masks the fact that she probably puts in a serious effort to tell a solid story. If you watch any of her YouTube videos, you might notice that they are all a single take — no editing. But she speaks with such richness, depth, and passion that you may not even notice that she pulled off a complex effort in presentation. You notice this in her podcasts too. There are frequent guests, but these always feel like conversations, not interviews. I always feel like I am listening to a passionate discussion between two experts with a common love of the subject. You see it on Instagram. She’s not trying to be a viral influencer. Sure, her short videos are entertaining and engaging. But then look at the depth of information she puts in the notes. If you string them together you would get the knowledge base of a textbook, the entertainment of a graphic novel, and be engagement of a short story. But you get the full depth of Janina with her podcast. On the surface, you might wonder how much can anyone talk about a single topic and not get repetitive or run out of substance. Well, Janina goes into depth on the topic but keeps it lively. Her passion for all things wine and natural charisma comes through. Here’s another subtle demonstration of how seriously Janina takes her mission. All her podcast descriptions have an annotated timeline of the entire episode. This makes it so easy to use the podcast as a reference — to return at a later time to a specific point. If you want to be educated about wine, this is the podcast for you. If you simply love wine, you will love this podcast. Heck, if you just barely know wine but want to learn from someone who won’t talk above you or talk down to you (it takes skill to walk that fine line), you will like this podcast. I just cannot get enough of the good stuff — this podcast!

PI_RiojaRiojaGreat episode with Tim Atkin! I’ll be listening to more of Janina and her content. She was also kind enough to respond to some questions off-air.

SUsBLearn so much from this podcastI only recently happened upon this podcast when Natalie McLean was featured. So far, I have been listening to more of them after subscribing and find them both fun and informative. Good interviewing, lots of (probably geeky) information and I am hooked. Thanks so much for giving me something fun to listen to that I can learn from as well!
