one of my fellow keepers suggested this podcast to me. i had heard of it before, but had never actually listened. i’m so glad i started!! it is truly the perfect mix of comedy and informative, it keeps my ADHD brain fully entertained.

If “Be Gay, Do Crimes” was a podcast about random animals it would be Keeper Chat. Seriously though, if you’re looking for an inclusive, profane, irreverent, and seriously hilarious podcast about all the animals you never thought to google, this is the podcast for you. Plus the Discord accessible through their patreon is full of some great weirdos.

I’ve been slowly making my way through all of the episodes and I am finally caught up! I’ve enjoyed the show so far and laughed along with every episode and needed to get that conservation money out there. As a vet assistant turned animal keeper who seems a bit lost right now, I’ve taken what Flora and Fauna have said about their times in the animal industry to heart. You two truly have had an impact on me to look a little deeper than “well I’ve always wanted to work with animals, and I don’t know what to do next.” So thanks for that and for all the laughs! :)

As someone who works at a zoo and is always wanting to learn more about animals, I love listening to Keeper Chat. I learn about animals, hear funny stories, and feel like I am hanging out with some hilarious and sometimes inappropriate friends at work!

I started listening to Keeper Chat because I wanted something fun and lighthearted to get my mind off of a bad breakup I was going through but I fell in love with the down-to-earth and totally relatable personalities of Flora and Fauna! I waited until I had fully caught up with the episodes to share my review but there wasn’t a doubt in my mind from episode one that my rating would be 5 stars! Thanks F&F for reminding me that we all go through it sometimes!

Flora and Fauna keep me giggling during my dull work days. I love when the 2 of them just talk - they are very entertaining!

I thought this podcast would be better researched and be more educational. If you like the tangents and their banter, then it could be entertaining. But if you’re here for focused animal information, look elsewhere. Most of the time spent is on irrelevant banter and the animal information is pretty surface level. On multiple episodes they say they don’t know about x,y,z, if you have a podcast about it, shouldn’t you look it up?

I am LOVING this podcast omg. I’ve been looking for a new one since I binged all of Ologies, and this is it baby. Flora and Fauna are so refreshing and effortlessly funny (like they’re just trying to make themselves laugh and they really don’t care if you think they’re funny and then you do). So entertaining and interesting and real and fun. Love!!

I feel like we all subconsciously develop a “friends list” of people we haven’t *actually* met in real life - but you just vibe and feel like you’d be their friend. That’s exactly how I feel listening this podcast. They’d be on my friends list. This podcast is hilarious, gritty, sometimes raunchy, and gives a real world perspective of what being a zookeeper is like (talking about those quick nd dirty episodes). Even though the hosts are former keepers, I genuinely hope this podcast continues on for a good while - there are still so many critters to talk about!!!

I just discovered this podcast a month ago and I’m bingeing the episodes now. Fun animal facts and funny commentary. What’s not to love?!

These two, clearly great friends, do not mince words when discussing the zoo field, or animals in general. Wonderfully brash, blunt, and smart! You’ll learn so much you didn’t even know you wanted to learn about. All the while, making you laugh.

The hosts, obvious close friends, share the best parts of their crazy friendship including their nerdiness for learning about animals. Makes for a thoroughly enjoyable listen for like minded animal lovers.

I could say a lot of great things about enjoying the humor, the candid and heartfelt discussion of issues in the zoo world, the hilarious conservation messages that connect with people on a human level… But tbh this podcast got me laid so that’s why it’s getting 5 stars.

I have been meaning to leave a review for awhile but I just finished the pandas episode and felt it was time. Pandas are so over rated and I am glad Flora got this one so she could speak the truth about those lazy grifters. I love this podcast because when it isn’t funny it’s informative and sometimes it’s both.

I love this podcast so much! I am a penguin keeper and this is my favorite thing to listen to while cleaning! These girls are so funny, and they always have me cracking up while walking around my aquarium!

I’m a firm believer that you remember facts better when they’re fun to learn. Keeper Chat makes facts fun... and slimy and grimy and just plain weird, but always in an inspired way that somehow heightens my respect for their subject matter. Animals are WHACK and that’s FANTASTIC. And so are these two hilarious people. 11/10

In a world full of boring and average animal discussion podcasts, flora and fauna take it to a new level. When I get that first big kid job, I’m subscribing to the grime gang life!

Keeper Chat is truly the best animal podcast! It is so hilarious it has me constantly laughing out loud. The bantering at the beginning of each episode is the best, and it’s always great knowing what their sassy cats are doing. Flora and Fauna talk about weird and interesting animals, along with giving advice about the animal care field. They are super passionate about conservation and what they talk about. They have also built such an amazing community on Discord, I encourage everyone to check it out if they haven’t already! <3

Flora and Fauna feel like friends you get together with once a week. I can’t believe I’ve been a listener this long and haven’t left a review. It’s one of my very favorite podcasts and I have recommended to so many friends who are interested in all things zoological and need more hilarity in their lives.

What do you do when you lose your job during COVID 19, and have to start working at a grocery store at 2am? Besides crying and drinking a lot, you start listening to this podcast. If you are looking for a wholesome, research based, educational podcast then take your business elsewhere. These bad mamajamas aren’t everyone’s cup of bud light lime, but they’re one of the best parts of my personal hell.

Fun, entertaining, hilarious, and dare I say it, educational podcast that is the go to on my Sunday mornings (that’s Tuesday in the real world). Just about anyone in the animal care field (or want to be) can relate to Flora and Fauna’s outlook and experiences.

This podcast is great! A bit disorganized at times but still lots of fun. Flora and Fauna are hilarious and you will learn lots of interesting facts about all different kinds of animals.

Think a Broad City takeover of National Geographic. Flora and Fauna are hilarious and very knowledgeable about animals. They really do their research for each show and provide personal anecdotes about their experiences. A must listen if you’ve ever worked in the zoo industry.

Flora and Fauna are the best podcast hosts I’ve ever listened to! I just discovered Keeper Chat through my internship at a zoo where the zookeepers listen to the show. Now I listen to an episode every day on my way to work or my internship! Flora and Fauna are hilarious and have me laughing out loud every day. Additionally, I learn so much about animals and even discover animals I have never heard of before through this podcast. As an aspiring veterinarian I am fascinated by Flora and Fauna’s experiences caring for animals as well as all the knowledge they bring to listeners. I wish I could rate this more than 5 stars!

These two amazing women explain and inform about some really unique animals. They also are amazingly in tune with their fan base. They’re kooky, fun, and hilarious but also definitely show their care and passion for all sorts of animals. Keep it up Flora and Fauna! Love you two and stay grimy ❤️

Did you know penguins go through catastrophic molting? Now you do. Flora and Fauna’s knowledge and love for their animals shows in their podcast. Each episode covers a new species/animal and you get to learn about these animals with a side of sass and updates on their cats.

I’ve been listening to this podcast since they started and I still check for new episodes weekly. They’ve worked really hard to improve their audio over time. The animal facts are super interesting and my favorite part is hearing about their personal zoo adventures. The only reason why they don’t get a full 5 stars is that occasionally they get “screechy” when they’re excited. It can be overwhelming if you have headphones on. I used to find it annoying but now I kind of find it endearing.

I could have sworn I reviewed this grimy pod already? Hands down, the best podcast I have ever listened to or will ever listen to. So funny, to the point where I’m crying from laughing almost every episode. You’ll learn a lot about animals without feeling like facts are being shoved down your throat. I legitimately never listened to podcasts regularly until I listed to Keeper Chat and got hooked. As a fellow animal care professional, Flora & Fauna are relatable and help keep me sane(ish). If you love animals, saving the planet, and uncontrollable laughter, this podcast is for you! Stay grimy!!!

I have been loving this podcast so much. As a science teacher, I really have been able to learn so many additional facts and I get to relay that information to my students. Definitely help make me seem 300x smarter than I really am. Love the humor of F&F and how natural of a team they are. If you’re looking for a comical approach to learning, this is it!
