    Really appreciate you two
It’s extraordinarily conversational. With moments of great insight and genius.

    These guys
The banter between these guys is playful, hilarious, and thought-provoking. Listening always makes me want to learn more. The dialogue includes material on philosophy, psychology, and, somehow, pop culture. I always laugh and learn something new from their insightful comments.

    Wonderful
One of my favorite podcasts that always makes me wish I could change my degree. Wonderful balance of chatting, humor, and simplification of complex ideas I wouldn't be able to understand without! I am always thinking about these concepts after I listen and I could not understand them on my own in this way! I am excited for and listen to every new episode straight away. Well done!

    Too much boring chit chat
Too much time talking about yourselves and television than ideas. Quite shallow.

    Digestible philosophy
I have listened to every episode I believe and have enjoyed Petter’s work form time to time with other like rob bell or even his stuff he does on his own. Having Elliott there brings the much needed levity but also the questions and push back that I would ask if were a part of the conversation. Elliott helps to bring it into the practical with real life stories and examples and Peter (in my opinion) brings some of his best and brightest in a from that I not only enjoy but can apply to my life. Thanks for sharing you guys! Really looking forward to your Patreon and what you do next. -Joe

    I’d say something clever but...
I have a toddler and just went through daylight savings. Most of the time this podcast is good enough. If there’s a symbol of the best podcast ever this is not it. If there’s a symbol of the best conversation between friends in deep thinking...this is not it, it’s just good enough. If you think about the ideal 5-star podcast this is also not it. Guys if you’re reading this, hello and I appreciate your work. I listen to most of most of your episodes. The only thing I’d change is maybe the intro music it’s just kind of annoying. Peace and love. Congrats Elliot!

    Decided to try psychoanalysis
I've loved Peter's insights on this podcast. So much so that I decided to try psychoanalysis. Well, my psychoanalyst isn't nearly as insightful, or isn't sharing with me, which is a bummer. But I still love the podcast. It's fun and smart. I love Peter's insights and thoughts. I like that Elliot can bring a little humor and real-life reactions into the mix. It must be hard being a comedian, he isn't _always_ on and hilarious like people might expect from a comedian. But he's an enjoyable presence, mostly to prod Peter for the deep insights, I hate to admit. Still, it's an entertaining and informative podcast.

    Ideal Podcast
This is the ideal podcast. When I imagine the Beatific Vision it’s just Pete and Elliot with a microphone. Transcending the cycle of reincarnation and burning through all my karma at once at the moment of moksha, my consciousness finally entering Brahmaloka after millions of lifetimes, there they are.

    how have i missed this!?
i’ve been a big fan of Pete’s for years, and a fan of Elliot’s for literal weeks. no clue how i’m just now discovering the podcast, but i’m sure shotgunning the backlog will make sure i remember everything they say

    I love Peter and Elliott
This podcast helps thoughts that I’ve had, that’ve never really been formed into concrete ideas, come together and it’s a beautiful thing. I love both Peter and Elliott and I hope you two continue to podcast together for a long time!

    Perfect!
Best friends having a drink or a coffee and discussing issues like the heartbeat of the universe! I absolutely love it and I love the way you approach subjects...different perspectives sometimes, but it’s all good! Thank you for making me think and helping me laugh; love you both!

    Perfectly Dissatisfied!
This podcast is supremely enjoyable. Elliot provides the perfect obstacle to a complete view of Peter’s insights, and his humor disavows the complexity of Theory, inviting the listener to think for themselves, even at the risk of pontificating. BRAVO! If you’re interested, I would love to hear about each of your thoughts on the intersection of psychoanalysis and virtue ethics. How do values become objects of our desire? For example, what’s really going on with the people virtue signalling on social media and publicizing evidence of their personal wokeness? Should the radical divest from the pursuit of the good life the same as they divest from the frenetic pursuit of accumulation? How? Cheers. Keep it up!

    Peter Rollins is AMAZING
Peter is an extraordinary philosopher and I am so grateful he entered my life via some of these podcasts. The other host almost makes this show not worth listening to though.

Their Drinking Detracts From Their Quality
Elliot and Peter are smart guys with a some really good insight BUT... the biggest issue I have is that they drink too much on the podcast. These are two people who seem to lean towards the cynical and I think the alcohol makes it worse. Although they can be funny, their outlook on life just gets grimmer as the episodes progress, their speech begins to slur and they even let out an occasional burp. It just detracts from the quality of the podcast and the legitimacy of their opinions. I know that they want to keep things casual and it helps them open up but if they have any desire whatsoever to make a real impact with what they are saying, they need to stop pouring drinks and sipping them throughout the episodes. It just doesn’t work for a podcast. So, I’ve had enough honestly and I’m finally going to stop listening and subscribing.

    No Elliot, Yes Peter Rollins
I follow and listened more in the past because of Peter Rollins. I think Elliot is quite naive and too ‘Woke’ for the average person to find help from his convo. He doesn’t seem to think for himself much. But Rollins is a deep thinker and thus, has a lot of insights that are very rare to find in the current culture.

    Intro for Newbies
So I’ll skip the adoration and compliments (know that they’re there <3) and get to the point: after multiple listens to the podcast, I’ve discovered that the best episodes to introduce others that may possibly be interested in listening are #77 Socialism followed by #78 Fascism. It lays out the focus of the podcast and introduces the guys perfectly.

    Love it
Yeah. I love it. What else can I say? Thanks for doing this show

    Dreams
Love the podcast! I wanted to hear Peter talk more about Freuds dream at 21:17 in the dream work episode and regret we will never hear the original episode where you talk about real dreams, but it is understandable. Great topic, I hope you revisit it in the future.

Please let Pete finish his thoughts / sentences. I get so excited about traveling to where Pete is going but he rarely gets to take us there.

    My current favorite podcast
I've been listening to this podcast for a bit now and am almost caught up on all the back episodes. It makes me think and it makes me laugh. It's fun and light-hearted but at the same time looks at ”fundamental” questions about existing in an ultimately antagonistic world and facing the trauma that is life. I really couldn't recommend it more. I would love a live show in/near Asheville, NC 😊
  • Lindy Flower
    Dude shut up
I tried to enjoy this podcast but couldn’t get past the one (comedian) dude CONSTANTLY interrupting the other (philosopher) with unnecessary and worthless commentary? Like just shut up, dude and let him finish his sentence ! Gross.

    Great Podcast
These guys really have no idea what they’re talking about.
  • Feelsdotjpg
    Could use less interjections
Please cut down on the comedic interjections. It really distracts from us being able to follow the line of reasoning sometimes. Otherwise good show

    Great podcast
Randomly found this podcast, what a hidden gem. Love everything about the podcast. The topics are mind boggling but digestible with relief of comedy sprinkled within. Keep up the good work!

    Updates on Pete’s fitness journey
I love this podcast. You guys are great. AND, I think there should be updates on how bootcamp is going. 🤗❤️

    One of my favorites
Listening to this podcast is like having a relaxing, intellectual discussion with friends over coffee and getting my mind blown. Elliot keeps it chill and fun while the dynamic duo tackles complex, challenging, and often controversial subjects. Peter has great insights and excels at explaining ideas and vocabulary in a way anyone could understand while still keeping it relevant and nuanced. If you want to learn something new and have your ideas challenged (in a constructive, non combative environment), then give this a listen.
  • jrbowens
Pete is the star. Elliott the jester.
I’m a psychotherapist and have read several of Pete’s books. He’s got some useful ideas to share. Elliott, however, debases what would otherwise be a conversation that could elevate us. Pete’s conversational style is gregarious, fun, witty, and wise. Elliott’s is crude, simple, and often just tangential at best. Too bad. Pete should go solo.

    Insightful & Companionable Philosophical Conversations
Pete and Elliott banter and laugh and reflect, as they discuss philosophical concepts and constructs, and how our lives - our births, our choices, our patterns, our politics - are entangled with them. A great listen in the age of media that shouts, condemns what's contrary, and otherwise causes headaches. These podcast episodes will enrich your thinking and your understanding of yourself and your place in the world, and its place in you. Enjoy!

    Always enlightening
I love to listen while I’m making art🖤Be my coffee friend, Peter!!!

    Nice
Hey Pete great job! what do you think about Hegel’s posture on slavery and Latin America? Have you read Enrique Dussel and other decolonial Latin American thinkers and their readings of Western Philosophy? Would be interested to hear how you take the good nuanced by the bad in Hegel!
  • Rob Giannamore
    this could be better
This would be a better poscast if Elliot would shut up and let Peter talk. He really derails the flow of the content.

    Therapeutic
These two ask and attempt to answer questions that we all ask ourselves at some point or another. Whether it’s life’s purpose, your ultimate concern, or catphishing, I always get something good out of the show. My worldview has shifted in such a positive way since starting the podcast. I appreciate you guys!

    Entertaining Education
I get a lot out of listening to Peter and Elliot talk about philosophy. The podcast has certainly opened up my interest in philosophy. I have learned about topics that are difficult to comprehend and digest on my own. Insightful Peter and casual Elliot make a great, complete duo. Thank you guys for producing some awesome podcasts!

Elliott told me to leave a review or he’d be sad
Really interesting discussions with people who can form full sentences and hide their depression well.

    Amazing
I found this podcast through another podcast. It is now my favorite podcast as it makes me think in very philosophical ways that I have not done in over a decade. So thanks guys Jedrick

    Love this podcast!
I’m so glad y’all are back at it. ALWAYS get excited to see a new episode in my feed. I’ve been listening since the beginning and I have rarely, if ever, heard you two discuss much about the supernatural in an evil sense. I know it’s not necessarily in line with what you normally discuss. But, Would love to hear your takes on the stories and tales of the devil and demons and what not. Evil exists, but what do you think about the animating energy of it? Thanks and hope to hear something on this topic in the future.

One of the Best Philosophy Pods
The dichotomy of professional and amateur philosopher allows for a dynamic that this listener takes to be the proper and most fertile ground for philosophy. While Elliot partly plays the roll of audience surrogate in asking Peter questions that might occur to those unacquainted with philosophy, Elliot also forces Peter to keep what he’s saying connected to every day life, and sometimes plays the role of translator, taking a complex idea that Peter is explaining and translating it into more every day terms. The disarmed, conversational, and often humorous approach to the show makes it accessible and relatable in a way that most philosophy podcasts could never compete with.

    LOVE!
Love this show! Everything I’ve listened to by Peter Rollins is thought provoking and engaging. I heard in a previous episode you might start a cult, count me in! :)

    Potheads?
I saw an episode of “That 70s Show” where they decided to record the conversations they had when they were high. They were convinced their conversations were deep, interesting, and insightful. I thought if that show when I listened to this podcast. I just don’t understand why podcast producers think it’s interesting to air conversations. It isn’t. Well, it isn’t to me, at least.

    My New Favorite Podcast
After hearing Peter Rollins on an episode of The Minimalists, I decided to check this out. I have been listening to this almost exclusively for the last couple of weeks. I really enjoy listening to these conversations. Elliot and Pete compliment each other very well. I enjoy hearing them dive deep into topics while still keeping it light, easy to listen to and sprinkled with humor! Thank you guys! Keep it up!

    I found it.
I this podcast is my lost object, I am complete.

    Genius podcast
It’s a genius podcast because Elliott and Pete are perfect together. The show isn’t all Pete explaining stuff, but, well, it kind of is. And Elliott is the perfect stand-in for the listener, smart, eager to learn, and tying things in to a broader, everyday life context.
