There are no names left77No Longer ValuableI used to think this was the best lifting podcast, and one of the most enjoyable podcasts in general. The show now provides much less insight and is almost geared exclusively toward beginner lifters. The worst part is going back to old episodes and remembering how good it used to be. It’s particularly sad hearing the old hosts say how they were going to be themselves and authentic, and not water themselves down, and then going to new episodes where swears are bleeped out with an obnoxious beep like it’s a rap song from the early 80s. If you really can’t have swearing on your show, maybe edit just replace the word, or cut the audio without putting in a beep. Also, the giggling between the new hosts is insufferable.

rsd22Easy on using “elderly” young man.On the latest podcast, the podcaster used the word "elderly" to refer to the 60+ age group in a study. I personally don't agree with that term as I am 65, I exercise, and I don't consider myself close to being elderly. I think in the future, when you both reach 65, you may also feel the same way and not want to be labeled as such.

Bubblehead10mmFast and effectiveMatt is always insightful and worth listening to.

Disappointed strength lifterContent has changedThis podcast was phenomenal in its early stages. Great content on strength training. Now, half of the podcasts are about coaching with very little content about actual lifting.

ZmodPCan’t say enoughI have been listening to this podcast since 2018 when I discovered it on Apple Podcasts during a very boring shuttle bus ride from the parking lot to the office. It has taught me so much about strength training, nutrition, health and wellbeing, and productivity. The team is phenomenal and down-to-earth, and their discussions always seem to resonate with me and usually make me laugh. It’s tough to put in words all the value this podcast has provided me over the years. I have been a BLOC client since last year and expect to be for the long term. Thank you Barbell Logic!

dgallagher88Decent ContentHave been listening for a while, overall very much like the content. Recently been too much of Niki and Andrew giggling with each other.

BabeekrishnaHelpful InsightsMany thanks for your recent two-part series about losing weight and gaining muscle. The expert insights, tips and journey examples were great. A part-three featuring middle-aged and senior, especially female, masters strength athletes could be insightful too. Cheers and thanks so much for the ongoing great content.

AreteFitnessTraining (John A)Episode 463 inspired meI’ve been listening to the Barbell Logic podcasts for about 4 years and I have learned so much. The show has transitioned me from more of a calisthenics background into barbell training. I was actually an online client of Matts for about 2.5 years and got the strongest that ive ever been. Episode 463 “Be a Person of Action” really inspired me and catapulted me into venturing off on my own and starting an online coaching business. I cant recommend Barbell Logic enough. Great podcast and Great coaches with tons of knowledge Im also loving the turn key coaching app! PS: Can we get more Cybil stories?

MbrohmsThe “Make Women Anabolic Again” episodeI have started listening to this podcast today after I heard it mentioned on the Fuel Your Strength podcast. I’m so glad I heard about this. The episode I listened to about making women anabolic again really hit home! I’m a healthcare worker also. I have old injuries that flare up often. I want to be stronger and have more energy. This episode really helped me to understand what I need to change and goals to set. Very inspiring and informative!!

M33liftsHypertrophy episodeI thought this was an excellent episode. For one, I’m currently in this situation. For another I’m a big believer that hypertrophy has to be combined with SBD training and heavy 1/3/5 reps, . As someone who is about to become a M3 lifter, not building that muscle while focusing on SBD has been detrimental, and I plan on going back to spending more time building muscle.

Texas Red Beard RealtorOne of the best podcasts on weight training and healthy lifestylesI’ve been listening to Matt since day 1. By now he almost feels like a friend. He is a wealth of knowledge about weight training, exercise physiology, nutrition, and also living a balanced lifestyle. I’m fairly knowledgeable about training science specifically as it relates to swim and water polo so I know a fair amount. That being said I’ve learned so many things from Matt and the other hosts. Matt know the scientific foundation of the training. Even more than that he is an excellent communicator who explains things well. This is a good skill because you’re able to take that info and immediately put it to use in the gym and in your life. Great podcast.

Shib6Speaking my languageMatt and his team are super relevant and super transparent. Grateful for the simplicity of the message and real-world application.

SophisticaitGood PodcastMy favorite strength and lifestyle podcast. It was great to have Scott back!
-
ETrain7273Great ContentFantastic discussions on barbell training, with some great discussions about life. I can't recommend this podcast enough.
-
DarrinbruRan its courseGreat podcast. Like other “ the Chinese Aids comment I thought was distasteful, but candidly the general arrogance and I’m smart and have all the answers attitude eventually turned me off of the podcast. However, if you are looking to learn how to get strong, listen to the early episodes and they will put you on track.

TKESmittyMaster’s PowerlifterIm a 59 year old male. I’m not new to fitness or weightlifting but I am new to competitive powerlifting. I’m learning a lot from this podcast.
-
RyanG24Resourceful and easily understoodTrying to get more consistent with my training and this podcast (and their other online resources) have been very helpful. Gives me a plan going into the gym vs. just going through the motions.

knowntodigressJust listenI’ve learned something each time I’ve listened. Really. The back-and-forth is well balanced and the pacing is great. Worth your time.

KandtmEncouraging, Motivating, Engaging!!I’m a new client to Barbell Logic as of January 2022. I have been following them for some time and wanting to participate. I’m thankful my husband who gifted me a Barbell Logic coach for Christmas! I have been listening to this podcast every week in tandem with my new training. I find this podcast to be exceptionally paired with actually training, though anyone could listen and benefit. Everything I think, feel, or struggle with as a new lifter has been mentioned in this podcast, and I only feel more certain that I’m doing something worthwhile and necessary, despite my lack of confidence just starting out. I love listening to Matt and Niki, who even though they have been in the game a long time and are very strong, are nothing short of encouraging to lifters everywhere, novice or seasoned! Love it!

gdsilagiAmazing free content!A couple years ago I found this podcast through the Art of Manliness. It’s weird to say this company has changed my life, but I do feel that way. I was a runner, who hated running. It was something I just continued to do after I graduated highschool and stopped playing soccer. I had injured my knee playing soccer in school and never really found a full recovery, but just continued to run and do body weight stuff, afraid of hurting my knee(ironic). After listening to a few episodes I felt inspired to give deadlifting a shot. A year and a half later I’m loving the way I feel. Somehow I can squat 315lbs without worrying about my knee collapsing. I’ve grown out of a few sets of clothes and had to budget more on groceries but worth every penny. I’ve even enrolled in their online barbell academy and hope to coach for them someday! Next step is actually signing up to get trained by one of their coaches. Thanks Barbell Logic!

Will I need an umbrellaSomething for (almost) everyoneLots of great advice, instruction, tips, etc. Some episodes are more relevant to me than others — but I think that’s the point. The help doesn’t stop at barbells. For example, on one show I learned that some paper towels under the bacon in a microwave made cleanup that much easier. They literally saved me from my savagery. And I was today years old when I learned of packing cubes. Mind you I dont travel much especially in the last couple years, so I haven’t kept up. Another problem solved nevertheless.

Might 4334Fantastic serviceThese guys and gals are very entertaining and knowledgeable

Jo-Jo MooreWithout QuestionVery entertaining podcasts but even more so a thought provoking one. I enjoy the wisdom, the bantering, and the classy humor. Without Question one of the most enjoyable podcasts to motivate me, to enjoy my love for fitness, and to encourage me to keep going. With love from Michigan. Jordan.

OsoRojo GrandeGreat informationIf you are looking to get stronger and into better shape, this is where to find out how!

Gose123213Downhill after Scott leftLoved the Podcast until around the time Scott left, quit listening shortly after. Unlistenable anymore to be honest. Matt’s one of those guys that’s so perfect it’s hard for him to not be perfect, just ask him. They had a podcast a couple of years ago dealing with relationships and the topic of procreation came up and Matt made a comment along the lines of “Like I want to reproduce, like, my genetics are better than everybody”. That was the beginning of the end for me and just reaffirmed mu opinion that Matt has the holier than thou complex.

fairbanks jr.!Great Information! Love the military series

geglneHow is metric system more difficult than pounds?I am really surprised how anti-kilogram this podcast is. KG > LB, yet they still use voice about, “...how difficult those KG, or stones, or whatever weird measurement...” as if metric is difficult. This soooo echos the conservative views that they tacitly drop on episodes. They’ve also made snarky comment about, “...(those people) who live within 50 miles of an ocean...” alluding to the “blue states” and it is disappointing to hear these little “jabs” at someone like me. Since they seem to not like my type (I live within 50 miles of the Pacific and lift KG weights), and are exclusive in their language of someone like me, I have stopped listening to this podcast and moved onto other lifting podcasts that are evidence-based and use science Tom make decisions - not the decisive language used in this podcast. Thanks for some “beginning”’and “basic” information, just tired of the insults. Good bye.

Cjl27DownhillLiked it better with hambrick as host. Nikki is unlistenable. Good drinking game to count how many times she giggles or says “mmm hmmm” during the course of podcast. Not saying she doesn’t know her stuff or add here and there. but she does not have the knack for this medium.
-
Dozer415Awesome Nutrition SeriesJust started listen to the pod cast in the last few weeks while driving 3 hours on the weekends. Have listened to the 3 part Nutrition series with Gillian Ward and Nikki like 4 times each. Really enjoy the open format and easy to follow up kind of hits home information it provides.

Good ol Pepe#1 sourceIt’s been enlightening to have found this content and discern how best to spend my money on equipment & gyms, not gimmicks. In short: knowledgeable, humble and results evidenced on the barbell. -Carlos

PacificeraBest strength podcast on the internet.Excellent content from a company that really cares about strength and health in all its forms.

Xiphias ImperatorBarbell FanaticsThis organization is undoubtably helping many people achieve better health outcomes through barbell training. That said, they are very dogmatic about their views and most of these podcasts are consumed with laborious justifications about why Barbell exercises are superior to any and all alternatives. The hosts deserve credit for backing up their claims with logic and conviction, but at times their arguments are overbearing and dismissive of other exercise regimes. When their advocacy turns to sales pitches to sign up to their online trading programs or attend training weekends for $375.00 per month, I feel like I am listening to a cheap infomercial for a pyramid scheme. At times, the hosts’ proselytizing reminds me of the way evangelicals and cult leaders try so hard to get people to join their cause.
-
gokartzBest training podcast by farLove listening to Ryan and Nikki and Scott talk training, and their tangents are always enjoyable. If you want to learn about training, this is a great place to be! I’m far more into endurance and kettlebells than I am into barbells but I still find this content gold.
-
NGM701Best Strength Training PodcastHave been listening/watching for a few years. Best strength training podcast around. You’ve helped change my life around and for that you deserve five stars!
-
ClaytonTMBest Strength PodcastThese guys convinced me to pick up a barbell after not training for 10 years, and it has had a huge positive effect on my life. I’ve been training consistently now for 4 months. I miss hearing Hambrick on the podcast, but he’s doing some very worthwhile stuff out there with online great books and music and ideas. Matt, Nicky, and Andrew are putting out some great content not just on the technical side of performing in the gym, but also on how to balance training with the rest of your life. Thanks so much guys! I hope to be able to fit a BLOC membership in my budget one day soon.
-
TheytookerjerbsMotivational and informativeLove the podcast! The mix of solid lifting information and entertainment keeps me coming back for more. Loved the older episodes with Scott and Matt were great but the chemistry with Niki and Matt is refreshing! Highly recommend.
-
SBC TimAppreciate the content!Great content that provides support for a variety of levels of barbell athletes. I look forward to continuing to learn from the podcast!

EliwankenobeFantastic content!I recommend this podcast to all of my friends who are interested in strength training and don’t know where to get started or are looking for simple, easy to understand concepts they can apply right away. I am an experienced lifter and I find myself going back to some of their first episodes on both how to perform lifts or the basics of programming and I find I learn something new every time I do. I look forward to every new episode because I know it will help me get stronger!
-
jak2890If you like barbells!Want to make the most of your training? Want to get stronger? Want to learn the ins and outs of barbell training and programming? This podcast is by far the best resource for this content. I genuinely believe this podcast has changed my life. I was just a regular gym goer on and off for 8 years not really knowing what I was doing with a simple goal of trying to “get bigger”. I had the mindset that some people are just strong and I never imagined that I could make myself stronger. I’m so grateful to have found this podcast and I plan to become a barbell coach myself one day.
-
G Antonio PatriarcaExcellent PodcastThe podcast balances what experience shows to work with what science and research shows to work, all through a filter of logic.
-
gregguessBest podcast on the planetGreat easy to understand info for the common man!!
-
Adonis The LionPerfect 👌🏼Always concise, and highly informative. A wealth of fantastic knowledge on attaining strength. Thanks, guys!
-
OscarmcpheeGood riddanceNikki is great, and the show is much better without Hambrick the blowhard.
-
mtrox1New hosts!Simms and Andrew bring an entirely new dynamic! As always, very enjoyable and extremely educational. Many thanks to the BLOC team!
-
mdelvecchioResetting my reviewDespite being doxed on-air by former host Scott because I left him a poor review, I am now resetting my rating to give the new format a fair shake. Looking forward to checking out a season and getting good advice on lifting, while leaving all the personal non-lifting opinions at home. (Note that I wasn’t even anti-Scott, I liked his style and their chemistry; just didn’t want the non-lifting lifestyle stuff)
-
DB Cooper 73Hurray for Guest HostsI gave up on this show when the pandemic hit. I knew Hambrick would have some horrific, conspiracy-based take on the crisis, so I figured I would skip it. (Looks like I was probably right). Just flipped past the feed to see other names, and thought I would give it a second look. The Reynolds-Sims pairing is what I want: Barbell advice from two sane people, who aren’t looking to build a movement (i.e., cult) around themselves. They just want to share information and build a business.
-
thompson53episode #257i have been playing catch up and just listened to episode 257 the festivus rant and it was laugh out loud audio gold. i loved scott’s take on it’s a wonderful life (although i do love the movie). the fact that the two hosts ranted for nearly 1/2 hour before answering questions was some of the best podcast content i’ve heard ever
