JcwallerScience Focused Triathlon InfoLots of technical information for the science-focused triathlete. As a mere age-grouper, some of the info is a little over my head, but I enjoy listening anyway. It is presented in a way that makes me want to learn more without making me feel stupid. Keep up the good work!

J. MederosThank youI look forward to each new episode that comes out. Great podcast!

njl1Boynton episodeThis was one of the most difficult podcasts to listen to. The guest; A recent college graduate who got his PhD. This was an interview with a adolescent in a grown-up world. He (Boynton) seems to have been thrown into the real world of uncertainty; He seems lost, almost drowned with data and the reality of uncertainty. A deer in the headlights. His inability to communicate combined with an incomplete understanding of what he actually knows. He gravitates towards the belief that nothing is knowable. As though the decades of knowledge accumulated over time has no real meaning. " I am a skeptic because in grad-school I heard that from my proctor." (paraphrasing). I am a big fan of That Triathlon Show. However, this guest brought little to the table other than exposing himself as confused. 1/5 ⭐️'s

CtiMartins OrlandoMy Absolute Favorite PodcastAfter completing my first open water 5k swim race in May of this year, I started triathlon training with my coach. I LOVE it. Being new to this kind of endurance sport and training, I started exploring podcasts and books. Mikael’s podcast has been a huge source of inspiration and knowledge for me. I listen to it weekly and many of the episodes repeatedly. His topical focus, his relevancy for us age-groupers who are new to this sport is simply BEST-IN-CLASS. If you are an age group triathlete, no matter your experience level, try this podcast and explore the archives. You will love it. On a personal note; his interviews with Tim Noakes and others inspired me to breakthrough perceived performance barriers and finally break 2:00/100m in my swimming…huge for me. Thanks Mikael.

Ni. JupIncredibly usefulWhile some of Mikael’s content goes over my head, TTS has become a staple of my weekly listening. He is able to condense extremely technical, yet valuable training information into a way that is balanced yet applicable to my daily training. Highly recommended for anyone who really wants to learn why triathletes train the way they do.
-
gar6547Great podcastThis is the best sports related podcast I’ve found. The host is very knowledgeable and does a great job finding subject matter experts related to varying topics related to endurance training. His interviewing style is very effective. Many times I’ve heard or read the information from another source, but the way it odd presented on this show often makes it click where it wasn’t quite getting through to me before.

Tobey2014This is great! This podcast is it such an intelligent and well thought out presentation by Mikael. He clearly prepares for many hours for each of his guests in order to get the most from the approximately one hour presentation. The amount of knowledge “pearls“ in each episode is really amazing. He is really good at distilling complex subjects in exercise physiology into clear and understandable language. I love going over the show notes and finding more references. I cannot imagine that anyone would do a better triathlon podcast! I’ve even recommended it to friends who are not triathletes just by virtue of the intelligence and spirit of good humor on display. In short, it’s fun to listen to. You can tell that the guests really enjoy speaking with Michael. He keeps his own ego out of the mix and consistently brings out the best in people. This is not a trivial skill. What a find!
-
MLrunstrongExcellent science content and stellar guestsI love this podcast and listen every week. The content is so rich with both exercise science and practical tips - innovative ways to apply what you learn! So much effort is made, it seems, to get outstanding performers and scientists to converse about the relevant and important things I need fir my own training. I’m just a beginner the triathlon but a masters degree in exercise phys, so I love love love the fad-absent sound content with a more serious (although playful) approach to each topic. I always learn something néw i can apply or be inspired by!

Laura789123456Best Triathlon PodcastThis is by far the best podcast about triathlon. The host, Mikael, is a very good interviewer and asks great questions. He is very knowledgeable but also doesn’t think he knows everything. All of the episodes are very interesting.
-
sdogtriGreat, very informativeMikael presents the information in a very clear logical way. He has researched many different topics related to endurance training, and brings on guests who are also experts in the field. It is a pleasure to listen to his non-sensationalized style.

perkintjSolid All AroundHands down, best triathlon training podcast out there! Thanks Mikael!!

JwinsfThe best resource for the scientifically minded, self-coached triathleteJust finished St. George 70.3, my first half in over a decade. My goals were to finish in under 4 hours and 55 minutes and to qualify for the 70.3 world championship. I did not have anything near a perfect race, but, because my training and preparation were solid, I qualified for worlds, finished in just over 4 hours and 50 minutes, and missed a top-ten age group (M 45-49) showing by one place. I’m grateful to Mikael for the fantastic, gem-packed, cutting edge, yet practical information that (along with TrainerRoad) has formed the basis for my autodidactic training. Please keep up the good work. I’m still a ways off from a KQ, but if I ever get there, it’ll be due in no small part to That Triathlon Show. Thank you!
-
trimeistergeekGreat content w scientific expertsI like the fact that there is a focus on data from controlled trials.

hectortheprotectorfromdaytonThat Triathlon ShowMikael does an amazing job of keeping this podcast varied, pertinent, and entertaining. His research, and that of his guests, is top notch. -
vesathleteGreat show!!!Mikael is an awesome host. Definitely knows his stuff around triathlon and podcasting. All the episodes are well thought through and his guests are world class in their field and the interviews are well crafted and edited. I am currently coached by one of the Scientific Triathlon coaches, David and I am very pleased with the quality of his coaching. He is extremely professional and and his coaching is athlete centered with lots of details to make me a better athlete. It’s worth every dollar for sure!! Best Triathlon and endurance sport podcast there is. Keep up the good work. PS. It would be nice to hear some more case studies on athletes who have worked with ST coaches. I remember there was one episode like that long time ago and Ireally enjoyed the format. Kudos to the whole team!

FreeState LearnerPerfect for Age GroupersBy far the best triathlon podcast out there for the age grouper who wants to improve. I love the Q&A episodes because they are always people asking the kinds of questions I often find myself asking, with science-based answers. Mikael even answered my questions on one of the episodes! Plus there are a thousand tips and resources referenced by the guest coaches and athletes, you learn something new in every episode. I’ve also used a few of the Scientific Triathlon training plans and found myself faster and stronger than ever. 5 stars!

IrongirlrdPractical and evidence-based informationAs a coach and an athlete, this is one of the most valuable resources I have found. The interviews with top exercise scientists as well as leading coaches are incredibly insightful. I find myself listening to certain episodes several times and looking up references and resources from the show notes. This podcast has broadened my knowledge base and shifted my approach to both coaching and training.

MJ RossBy far my favorite podcast and resource!I started listening to That Triathlon Show about 1 year ago and it quickly became my favorite podcast. EP #177 is one of my favorites so far. FreakinJohnFantasticI’ve learned so much listening to this podcast. Tons of great information. I’ve still yet to do a triathlon but am absorbing as much as I can and applying it to my training as I prepare for my first. Thank you so much, Mikael.

ecbarrExcellent Triathlon/Endurance Sport podcastI am a huge fan of Mikael and the That Triathlon Show. I came to it within the past year and am still going through the archives and finding tons of important information about triathlona nd endurance sports. I appreciate how genuine Mikael is about his love for Triathlon and wanting to share the expertise of professional with everyone. Moreover, I am floored with how much detail each episode comes with. Not only does MIkael as thorough, concrete questions, but each episode comes with written show notes for your own reference! I have come back to the show notes pages countless times to find links and resources. It's also just nice to see the information written down, too. Lastly, I appreciate the internatinoal flavor of the podcast. While delivered in English, it's refreshing to hear from triathletes from all across the world. I enjoy learning about cultural differences through their stories and relationship to triathlon. Great show!
-
AshleymasenThe only podcast I listen tooI've never been one to listen to podcasts as I would rather take the time for a good book on tape, but with That Triathlon Show I find a show that teaches, informs and motivates me to keep coming back to Triathlon because I love it. I love how much I learn from listening to that Triathlon show and after finally making my way through all their episods, I'm ready to listen again because there is just so much to learn.

Samuel_RiversBest podcast to understand training out thereVery informative. Highly thoughtful. In depth answers to training questions and really great interviews that help understand the fundamentals of training.
-
Geoff-GSuper informative.Extremely condensed and useful information about many different aspects of endurance training. So much valuable content here.
-
Jnk1234One of the Best in my opinionI am relatively new to the sport and out of all the podcasts I listen to, this one consistently provides me with actionable information I can use. Unlike others that seem to ramble on about unrelated topics and at the end leave you wondering what if anythng did you gain from your time sent listening, That Triathalon Show always seems to deliver good information. my opinion anyway.
-
Investor7711Best online content for endurance athletesThe interviews of these top endurance coaches and experts is truly amazing. Every person who calls themself a triathlon (or endurance athlete) coach should be listening. Thanks!!

Faster after 65Balanced and researched advice and training guideHave been listening to and following from the beginning of my Tri journey. Began in 2017 as a 65year old with no experience. Mikael presents terrific topics, and has the leading experts from the multpile disciplines. Advice for beginners at any level and age, and for mid packers looking for better training techniques and improved nutrition and hydration. Data and experience combine to make the show interesting while presenting complex concepts.
-
stkjbguGreat resource for beginner triathletesI am a beginner triathlete and stumbled upon this podcast. I started from the beginning and have already found so much valuable information in the first 20 episodes. I look forward to all the other episodes for even more knowledge from Experts in the field
-
OrnaculoOne of the most complete endurance sports podcastsGreat podcast not only for triathletes but also for any other endurance sport. The host really makes the effort to keep this podcast as practical as possible to apply endurance concepts to reality, specially for age groupers...there are so many theories and information everywhere about training, nutrition, sleep, hydration, strength, etc...that anyone can get easily lost...I use this podcast as reference to either validate or discard these theories...great job Mikael!..really glad to have people like yourself that shares all this knowledge!!!

jml912jkl5 Stars! Question about PelotonGreat show! I have learned so much. I’m a 1x Ironman/5x 70.3 finisher, and want to start to see some improvements in each sport. I received a Peloton as a gift a year ago, and I love it. It gives me flexibility as a parent, and I feel like many of the sessions are super efficient for me. Do you have advice for how to incorporate work on the Peloton into my tri training? Which workouts/class styles are most helpful? What advantages/disadvantages do you see when people use spin-class-style training to prepare? Thanks!
-
actriwarriorGreat podcast for triathletesI have enjoyed listening to this podcast for the past few months. I have been able to learn new perspectives about training and professional discussions. Keep up the good work!

SophieSSHGood podcasts, some interviews lackingOverall I like this podcast a lot. The host researches everything Thoroughly before answering questions. Pods are usually either Q&A or interview. The Q&A is very good and the questions are in depth about everything related to training. The interviews I am not that impressed by. Sometimes there is not good content and the conversation is circular. For example, there was an episode about fatigue management where they went on for 20 minutes on the different types of fatigue. I didn’t find that helpful. By far the best episode was the one on time management where he played VMs of people who explained how they managed their time between family, training and work. Overall though if you have questions on triathlon or are just starting out, then I recommend this podcast.

From beginner tips to in depth discussions with World Class Athletes, Coaches, and Scientists, the topics discussed always offer me new insight into the world of Triathlon and into Endurance sports in general. Thank you for putting out so much useful information. Always looking forward to this weekly podcast.
