Host is extremely talented at talking to himself and keeping himself interested in what he is saying, just not very talented at keeping other people interested in what he is saying

Most dulcet tones in MMA. Dan’s analysis and picks are solid and well thought out, and I enjoy the unfiltered stream of consciousness nature of the show. Good guests and Top 5 episodes as well, plus the intro music is always fire. Keep it up, Dan.

Dan Tom provides the best fight analysis in the game. Compared to Dan, other analysis is basic at best. There’s levels to the game and when you listen to Dan break down technique, it’s truly mind blowing. Come for the analysis, stay for the sick references.

Come for the picks and prognostication and to see if they’re any bets you’d like to tail. Stay for the impressions of Devin Clark’s dad (David) and to hear him say Tanner Booooossserrr. 😀

Fight analysis is good, but have to skip through Dan’s opening monologues in which he constantly plays the victim and says repeatedly “I’m not being a victim”. Yes you are being a victim and nobody wants to hear about your problems.

Between Heavy Hands and Dan Tom I’ve learned more about fighting/mma than any other podcast. Tom is a really talented writer and smooth voice BUT he complains a TON! Instead of focusing on complaining maybe save the 5-7 minutes of complaining to focus that energy on highlighting minority voices in the MMA community? Would love to hear segments like that instead of the complaints about not hitting bets or racism. Might be a better use of Tom’s talent and more effective strategy to give voices to those who don’t have one. Great pod

Updating my previous review as it wasn’t fair to the host. This podcast contains top notch fight analysis and cultural commentary that can be extremely insightful at times and extremely frustrating and disappointing at times. For example, His insight on the Rose ‘better dead than red’ comments was very helpful. His attributing racism to large swaths of American fans cheering for rose over zhang was not. If your goal is to hear fight analysis and want to skip the cultural commentary he does include time stamps in the show notes. He’s pretty good at segregating his fight analysis from his cultural commentary.

Dan wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to hate. We all should keep it real. I have loved this show from the beginning and Dan is an amazing breakdown artist. He does have his bias picks from time to time but truth is he tells us ahead of time!!! Who does that, no one... they act like they are being honest. If you are hear for MMA and picks. Use the time codes! You may disagree with Dan’s personal takes, if so I urge you to hear them, take them in and honestly evaluate them. No one is perfect, but we all need to be free to share our opinions and views. Especially when speaking real talk and how it affects us. If you can’t listen and disagree without being an idiot you’ll never truly enjoy anything that is not your own take. Listen and learn... or skip to the picks. Dan is one of the top fight pick podcasts around. He lands in the top percentages every week. If you want to win add his picks to your plays weekly. I appreciate you man! Thanks for all you do. Dan Tom is one of my top mma pod cast with protect ya neck. I love when he goes on a tangent and apologizes for it. His break down of fighters is perfect some I disagree with but majority of the time I will follow him off the edge.... thank you joseph d.

Dan is the 100% the best analyst you haven’t heard of. If you’re a bettor, a fan of the sport, or just want to preview the upcoming card, this one of the best places to go. It’s a top 3 MMA podcast. More in depth than Anik and Florian, DC and Helwani, whoever. I’m a big Dan Hardy fan, and Dan Tom is the only analyst I’ve come across that’s on his level. Outstanding pod.

Best and most informative mma podcast around

Always a fun and informative time

I listen to ALL the youtube channel and podcasts and I appreciate this show but to mention the pedantic troll Zane Simon in a complimentary context makes me wonder about this.

Always like listening to Dan, gives good points from his prospective. He has swayed my picks a few times for the better. Always a good listen. (And go check out his list of top past fights to watch, there’s some bangers!)

Dan is the level headed contrarian we all need. Breakdowns are in depth and cover all angles, and I personally enjoy his tangents and think Dan is a genuine good person. Although his picks aren’t always correct, there’s so many aspects covered in his breakdowns that you can make your own picks without his explained biases.

I love the podcast. Dan can be a bit scatterbrained at times but that adds to the uniqueness and appeal of this podcast. One thing undebatable is that Dan always provides great, in-depth breakdowns of the fights and fighters that is rivaled by none.

He is a little scatter brained, and rambles a lot, but trust me as a long time listener to both journalists and fight analysts, you ALWAYS want to hear his take before going into these fights. I wont give him any less than 5 stars because whether right/wrong his analysis is +++ , and i actually do appreciate his unscripted/unedited nature (why i listen to him so much) even though has me shaking my fist in the air to get to the point..but you are mistaken if you discount his analysis. Top top.
