Thank you for taking the time to talk about the history of Soaps! I watched as a child with my great-aunts and mother. I am still watching General Hospital and now beyond the gates!

Even if you aren’t a soap fan or have ever watched one this is a fascinating and engaging behind-the-scenes look at the impact of soaps on TV and media today and how they were ahead of their time tackling so many social issues. Natalie really draws you in!

So happy with the direction of the show under Brandon Pope. There’s a new level of depth and the focus on culturally competent stories has me excited for the upcoming seasons.

This show shined in its first 3 seasons, with an entire season dedicated to a particular period of a celebrity’s life - Obama, Oprah, Beyoncé. This season with 1 episode for Serena Williams was much different in that it covered her entire life. It barely scratched the surface more than could be seen in any number of already available short pieces about her, including the movie King Richard. I wanted more details and discussion of a specific part of her life as in past seasons. Hoping you return to the long form soon.

This show offers insight into people I’ve followed for years and somehow offers stories I’ve never heard. And Brandon Pope is a great choice to take on this show as a host!

This is the podcast I didn’t know I needed. Oh my 80s baby/ 90s kid heart. Oprah absolutely did raise me and I’m so grateful. Thank you for bringing this all back.

I heard about the podcast and the Making Oprah episodes from an article I read. As a fan of Oprah I didn’t think there were things I could still learn about her. But, I did and discovered a beautifully made podcast! The episodes were wonderfully crafted, the story beautifully told. I even enjoyed the sound mixing and Jenn’s voice is calming and confident.

I wish there was even more...been a fan for 20+ years and this is the first I'd heard of a lot of the Girls Tyme details in depth.

The series (or seasons) should be on separate podcasts with separate graphics so listeners can easily find. This is an easy fix. Also, episodes are a bit too long. Shorter episodes keep listeners engaged and coming back. I don’t know why WBEZ decided to put Oprah, Obama & Beyoncé on the same podcast series. 🤷🏽‍♂️

This is a good series and has interesting details that I’ve never seen or heard before. But why is it taking so long for the next episodes to come out? Did the show go on a break? It’s been almost 2 months since the last episode!

Where are the remaining episodes? Strong start, but then nothing. Disappointed.

Making Oprah is one of the best podcast miniseries I’ve ever listened to. Making Obama was really good too. Making Beyoncé is incomplete. Odd that they posted it in its current form, ending with Destiny’s Child’s first hit. The story of Making Beyoncé has so much more to it after this moment... maybe they encountered research issues and decided to call it good? But it’s not good. Very unsatisfying.

It seems a disservice to make this podcast only three parts. I mean, there’s much more to the story. Lame.

Seriously where is the next episode! I am loving this show!!

I LOVE BEYONCÉ AND THIS HAS MADE ME FALL EVEN MORE IN LOVE!!! Well worth it!

Jennifer White is an excellent researcher, interviewer and narrator. When I found her podcast I was immediately hooked and listened to it incessantly. Her stories are compelling, interesting and very well told. I listen to a lot of podcasts as I am in sales and on the road most of the week. Therefore, I can quickly identify & dismiss the lemons (plus, my attention span is short). The “Making” podcast falls into the rare gem category bc I simply cannot get enough. Thank you, Jennifer, Collin and WBEZ Chicago. Please keep ‘em coming!

Beyoncé’s story is amazing and she is a superstar, but the podcast was boring.

I am part of a minority of NPR listeners who actually really likes Beyoncé and appreciates her contributions to Black American Culture today especially.... However, let me state the obvious, if you listen to NPR you might not care about this story, and if you like Beyoncé, you probably don’t want or need to listen to her story told in a dry narrators voice lacking any new content. Bleh. Just no.

X-cat-x your crazy because Beyoncé is the best If you can’t see that then but she is great. Your just jealous because your not her . I love Beyoncé you are so talented keep doing what you want and can ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Started listening because of the other seasons and so far I’m not disappointed. I’d say I’m an average Beyonce fan and still find it interesting.
