Sk322292Gary Ward!!Randomly came across this podcast when researching biomechanics usefulness in sport performance. I have very high arches and have been doing extensive research on how to prevent them from causing future injuries but have ran into a multitude of straightforward fixes that often were unclear. The Gary Ward episode answered so many questions I had!! Will definitely listen more!!

BJP2020Dr. Nick SerioJust listened to the episode with Dr. Serio about training rotational athletes. There is definitely a problem with the baseball/softball culture in the way that they perceive and understand training specifically. I thought that both you and Dr. Serio did a fantastic job explaining the nuances of training a rotational athlete and the concepts that should be driven home regarding rest, strength, and general athleticism. Would love to hear him on a future episode!
-
Hoop 26Loved Dr. SerioDr. Serio was a great guest that provided really valuable insight into the different training that athletes should take part in to truly be their best. A very knowledgeable guest that was a pleasure to listen to.
-
Irish2008NDHome runWhat an awesome episode with Dr. Serio. It’s amazing how much goes into training overhead athletes. It seems like Dr. Serio and his team at Athlete’s Warehouse really have a great grasp on how to maximize training in these athletes while minimizing injuries.

Track ATThe best..This podcast is top notch! Working with Olympic athletes, I’m constantly searching for places to learn more about performance, injury care, strength and rehab considerations, etc, and this is a one stop shop. Joel is well versed in many things training and track related, and his guests are absolute all-stars in the sports performance realm. Would highly recommend to anyone in the sports world.

SlimtefanFriendly CritiqueI have listened to many of these podcast and have enjoyed them very much. The guests are always intelligent and the topics are fantastic. However, if you are sensitive to the millennial use of the word, “like” you will scream at your iPhone. There are like times when like the word “like” is used like 4 or 5 times in like a single sentence. Do you like know what I like mean?
-
ShaqtinthefoolReally enjoy Joel’s enthusiasm! You can feel his excitement as he interviews the most forward thinking performance experts in the business. So incredibly informative.

Innovative and Cutting-EdgeHigh Quality Guests and Cutting-Edge ContentThere are a lot of great podcasts out there in the sports performance and strength&conditioning fields, but Joel's podcast really stands out. Not only does he get really high quality and innovative coaches, researchers, and thought-leaders in the aforementioned fields, but he also asks great questions that are centered around finding innovative solutions to common problems. Especially if you are interested in neuro-centric forms of training, athletic development, the importance of the foot, and the power of isometrics, this podcast is like drinking from a fire hose on all of the above. There is a time and place for understanding the basics, but for more intermediate to advanced coaches, this podcast is a gold mine.

LP41Hard-Hitting Ideas for Coaches, Athletes, and ParentsI coach ski jumping and XC skiing in Colorado and this podcast hits on so many aspects of training that I use every day. Seriously it’s a free education in physiology, programming, and coaching philosophy. Joel Smith is incredibly bright and asks all the right questions. Not to mention he’s hosted SO MANY rockstars of the fitness and performance world. This podcast introduced me to Adarian Barr, Christian Thibaudeau, Mike Boyle, David Weck, Jake Tuura, Michael Yessis, Jeff Moyer, and so many other brilliant minds who are shaping and re-shaping the way we think about human performance.
-
Megsi072Diverse information from solid sources on important concepts! As an athletic trainer and strength coach, I’m always thinking about ways to keep my athletes performing at their best while training sustainably. There are so many overlooked points of training, with top level olympians, to weekend warriors, to youth athletes, that can help them with their heath and performance. “If you have a body, you are an athlete” —- and you need to subscribe to this podcast!!!!!

Seth SpicerThe Future of Athletic PerformanceDuring my undergrad in Athletic Training I began listening to the just fly podcast. 160 episodes later, the insights and perspectives that I have gained from the experts on this show are one of the biggest influences to both my own training and how I look to train those that I work with. I look forward every week to the open minded guests Joel has on that expand the possibilities of what our field can achieve. Without a doubt the information shared here will continue to compliment my learning, teaching, coaching, and training. A sincere thank you and I look forward to your continued work. P.S. I’m interested as to if Thomas Myers would like to have a chat with you!

Jrw63Must ListenThere is always something to learn with each podcast guest. Guests have ranged from high school coaches to Olympic level. All have had great information to share. A-Lee 11My go-to podcast for training infoJoel’s podcasts are spot on! His guests are some of the best in the industry, and he asks very thoughtful questions and then lets them speak. Having met Joel (and trained with him), he is a man that truly lives by the code and tries to apply what he has learned to help his athletes - he certainly walks the walk. His interviews are with guests that are highly knowledgeable in the areas that he wants to learn more about, and he shares it in an easily digestible format for the masses to benefit from. Great podcast. 10/10. 5 thumbs up. (Insert metric that will impress you). Thanks for all the quality content, Joel!
-
DgyyyvddgjjiAmazing materialI can honestly say I would not be the coach I am today, and will not be the coach I'll be tomorrow, without this podcast. It has challenged me with new ideas and broadened my understanding of what training for athletic development really is. The guests are always genuine and the host asks fantastic questions, the topics are always in line with athletic development but somehow vary on their topics enough to keep even the most knowledgeable coaches listening. Can't thank them enough for what they continue to do an regular basis by bringing in the industry's best and getting a small glimpse into their ideas
-
Thirty3proCrucial informationHave really enjoyed the material over the past year. Great introduction to new, progressive ideas. Not afraid to challenge the status quo.
-
Ian Gerber1RevolutionaryThis podcast has completely changed the game for me. Joel does an amazing job asking the questions you want to hear answered, to amazing guests (many I whom I wasn’t previously aware of). Huge help to this strength coach who has been stuck in the max strength and/or functional training mindset for many years. I am gaining a greater and greater discernment as to what my athletes actually need; not assigning something because we have “always done it.” Joel and this podcast have played a huge role!
-
Jesse BreidenbachMy favorite podcastIn addition the fantastic information and guests Joel is a great interviewer and understands how to ask insightful questions and allow his guests to share their experiences and expertise.
-
hydrorossDeep-Dive learning for Athletes and CoachesAs a masters track athlete, physical therapist and track coach, this is now one of my must-listen podcasts. I've gained many new insights from Joel's interviews with interesting and high-quality people from across the conditioning, speed and athletic performance realm. Joel is a great interviewer: he listens, rather than self-promoting or inserting his own opinions. His follow-up questions to interview subjects hone in on areas that listeners also might want more information. He's found some amazing people to interview; those who think a bit outside the traditional boxes...in turn making ME think about what I do and how I coach. Give Just Fly a try!
-
Coach BeebeGo to podcastsJoel’s guests and topics are second to none which makes it one of my go to podcasts and one that any coach should subscribe.
-
